this hotel was ideally situated for us as we were visiting the area. easy to find and ample car parking. Reception staff were friendly on arrival and efficient with the checking in process. restaurant staff were also very friendly and attentive. relaxed and largely peaceful setting in-spite of the fact that there were two weddings being held at the venue.

staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble.Good food,balanced choice. Special mention to Yasmin who served a table of ten at dinner with all the aplomb of an expert.

Excellent staff service as they are very helpful. Range of food available at breakfast is excellent and hot food is hot. Rooms need a refresh and the toiletries also need to be included - stayed twice in 2 weeks and only toiletry in the room was Bath Foam??

Could do with a few more disability parking spaces, two seems very inadequate for the size of the hotel.

I arrived driving from Newcastle to Kent after visiting my father with three children and two dogs. However we were all made to feel welcome and the hotel was sufficiently relaxed that I didn't feel our little party was intrusive in any way! IT was a great stop off from the family visit and I would def recommend and stay there again.

Stayed here a handful of times now and it strikes me as a HI resting on its laurels. Nice facilities in terms of pool and gym (though after 5.00 during the week both very busy). I have never been offered an upgrade and when asked for told nothing available. Rooms in the annexe bigger apparently but only because of a single bed addition which is not needed and annexe is a pain to get to especially if you have luggage. Room dated and bathroom very much so. Broken toilet roll holder, toilet seat loose, flush almost hanging off. Shower fixed at 5ft so you have to duck under and head was cracked. Not horrendous so I couldnt be bothered to complain as only there a night. Not a great experience in the restaurant either. Waitress was determined to give me chips with my cottage pie but I declined. She then offered with mash but I reminded her I would hope it came with mash so no thanks. It came with mash on the side!! I usually give good reviews for my many stays so am very positive normally. I have stayed at a lot of Hol Inn Expresses recently and it feels like their staff have been through thorough customer service training or are just much keener than their colleagues in this hotel. Very much a case of must try harder but regardless I wont be going back to this HI that is for sure.
