Towels in the room were grey not white and on two occasions had to request changes as the towels were actually stained and soiled, replacements were only marginally better. Staff response was good but apologetic.

We just had an outstanding stay at this centrally located
hotel. From the time of check-in thru check-out, hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating esp John of front desk and Pratesh and Joy of bellboys. I highly recommend this hotel for any one looking for a hotel in Dubai.......

The staff was very good. My room was very big and spacious. 2 steps away from the metro station. It made my stay really good.

I enjoyed a lot my stay with the family in the hotel. Although the hotel was busy, but the service was great and the people was extremely friendly. I definitely recommend this hotel!

when you call second home have to have patience and expect it to improve.
excellent staff, overall very attentive. But bit old structure guess makes it tough to meet the top standards.
taking a lot of extra effort from all the staff.

convenient transportation: very close to metro station.
convenent dinner: nice restaraunt close by
Great staff at front dest greeted warmly and worked efficiently for both check-in and check out
Need to improve: Breakfast is lower quality comparing with its higher price
House keeping need improve: some forgot to leave any towels to the room or necessary soap or hair cap, but it depends who is on duty
First night can not sleep well due to next door "big noise" for most of the night,but other nights are very quiet probably neighbour checked out

The hotel is located in very crowded and old part of Dubai. the parking is very small and it is difficult to find a spot specially in the night.
Although I arrived too late (around 2:30am) I have been told that the room was not ready, what I think is that they thought I'm not coming so they gave my room to someone else, and finally they gave me a room that they had to clean.
The hotel is old, so the rooms.
I don't recommend to stay here even for attractive rate.

I like it so much as I am in a holiday to go to disco and have fun, and most important thing is to enjoy dubai.
so it good to be in this hotel as it is having all what I need and a very good location.

I have stayed here previously and it is central with comfortable sleeping conditon. However, my recent stay was horrible. The hotel needs to decide if it is a hotel or a night club. the music was very loud both nights and despite a request to lower it....no response. We could not sleep till after 3am. This is not good when you have a 6.30am start for a long flight.
Holiday Inn-this is a very bad show

Many upgrades and modernisations required, especially to the air conditioning in the lobby which was continually attended to by maintenance staff but it never worked properly in the 3 weeks I was there.
The roof top pool was unserviceable for the duration of my stay as the floor was being resurfaced. I was not notified of this when I booked the hotel so it was not good to find out the day after I arrived at the hotel that this would be the case.
Corridors leading to rooms had a peculiar, rather unpleasant smell and were very warm!
Breakfast wasn't brilliant but there was a good selection and the staff were helpful, if not a bit too quick to snatch your plate, cup or glass, or in fact anything else that you had just been eating or drinking from. The plates were snatched away before you had a chance to chew your last fork of food!
Housekeeping staff were a credit to the hotel. My room was kept immaculate every day and the guys were very helpful. Well done.
A lick of paint here and there, and a decent pool where you can swim in the evening instead of being banished from the area unless you wanted to drink and smoke!
Franchised bars were awful!
Not for me thanks.

I reserved this room on or about 26 november 2013. This holiday inn put a hold on my credit card. After I stayed there on the 23rd of December I payed with the same credit card. They charged my the hold fee along with the room fee. I would like the hold fee reimbursed. I called the hotel on Jan 13, 2014 and spoke with a person at the front desk and he assured me he would address the person responsible for the credit card charges about this issue, with no results. I have stayed at this motel several times with great experiences. I will continue to stay there if this gets resolved.

Booked this last minute, was hoping for point breaks or last-minute sale but it didn't work out. Great location near the subway and Al Rigga street (lots of shops/restaurants), can reasonably walk to the creek or even the gold souk. A nice way to end mid-east trip with the locals in the area, mall-ing it up, going to the souk, grabbing some juice, eating at local restaurants. They gave me an upgrade to executive suite and juice (Muslim country) as an IHG member, as well as checking in at 11am and out at 4pm!!
Only detractors: toilet got slow/clogged at one point for a while; creepy guy on the next building over's rood blatantly staring at me while sunbathing on the roofdeck pool area (I was wearing reasonably conservative tank top/shorts). I covered up and went inside. Thought it would be ok to suntan but I guess not.

My wife and I stayed here on my Reward points. I had to insist that Breakfast WAS included as per my Platinum membership status and the advertisement of the hotel. We were very happy with the position of this location as it was most convenient for good eating establishments and the commuting by Train to most destinations of interest. We were allocated room 720, the room was quite comfortable and clean and the only thing we were a little disappointed with was the loud music late into the night. This wasn't too much of a problem as we didn't feel tired till around midnight. Be aware that this Hotel is situated In a back street and therefore there 'isn't a room with a view'. You can sunbathe comfortably on the roof around the pool. I believe this area is in need of updating a little, but as we didn't pay for our stay we weren't disappointed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED is speaking to Anthony Joy the concierge on duty, he is very knowledgeable and so helpful and tries his very best to help you enjoy your stay and gives very good advice on surrounding restaurants. The internet was activated by a code obtained from reception, free to platinum members, however it took me four attempts and codes to access. Recommend buying a SILVER NOL CARD at the railway/tube station and you will enjoy Dubai as much as we did. Beware that there are 'LADIES DAYS' at the beach when men will be refused access to the beach, ask at Hotel for guidance, again ask JOY. We did see Holidayinn nearer the Emirates Mall, but we thought the location of this downtown site was much more convenient. The housekeeping staff were very attentive and provided ample supplies of tea/coffee/milk/water etc.
