I am a big user of IHG Hotels in the UK whilst away on business. I had saved up over 260,000 points which I used for stays in Dubai and Singapore on my way to Australia for Christmas.
So my stay at this hotel was a reward stay. I arrived at 1am and was quickly checked in. The reception staff were very efficient. The hotel also fully recognised that my stay was a reward stay and not a "Paid for " stay. But to their credit they fully respected the Rewards programme and treated me very well indeed.
They upgraded me to a Deluxe room instead of a Standard, (which is mentioned in the Rewards Programme as a Gold Member (used to be Platinum)) but very rarely in the UK do you get upgraded.
The room was big with a seating area, coffee table, complimentary fruit plate, sweet plate and bottle of red wine (which is expensive in Dubai).
The bathroom was large and recently refreshed in my opinion.
Shortly after getting to my room I received a call from reception to ask if I was happy with it!!!!!
That has never happened to me in the UK and I stay away on Business every month.
I liked the hotel. It is probably best described as a Business hotel due to its location in the Embassy district, but the Burjaman Metro is only 300 yards away providing access to the rest of Dubai.
It is not "on the Palm" or one of those hotels. So people complaining of its location is unfair. The hotel is where it is. It can't move. If you don't like the area, stay somewhere else.
But if you do choose to stay here, I suspect you will be pleased with your choice.

Gute Lage, die Metrostation ganz nahe und von dort aus bequem alle Ziele ansteuern.
Personal sehr freundlich, Zimmerservice gut.
Restaurants im Haus empfehlenswert.

Das Stadthotel liegt zentral, die Metro ist sehr gut zu erreichen und zu empfehlen. Zimmer für diese Kategorie sehr gut, saubere Zimmer, aufmerksamer Service. Die Restaurants im Haus empfehlenswert

I have never had to complain in all my years of being a IHG Platinum member. I decided to stay here as an IHG member for a recent return to the UAE for business.
The main issue I have is the lack of Customer Service and proactivity of the staff. As the hotel rates are quite high, the level of service is quite low.
One day I left a tip on my bed. I returned many hours later with the room unserviced and the tip gone. My room was serviced once I complained but the duty manager was unresponsive until I pushed as to why the tip was taken. A bottle of wine was offered for compensation. Unfortunately the wine would have been undelivered if I didn't call down nearly 2 hours later asking if it was ever going to arrive.
The next day my room was serviced. I then discovered that my laundry bag had been taken without my request (no form filled in). I complained and had the laundry bag returned. The assumption had been that I may have wanted it cleaned but they weren't sure. The took it 'just in case' and forgot to send me a letter. I had a very expensive work shirt in with the items and was glad to see it returned.
Pool and Steam/Sauna to a poor standard. Apparently you need to give them 30 minutes to allow the Steam/Sauna to warm up.
Cleaning the bathroom: bad odours from mop left in the bathroom after cleaning.
IHG Members Free Internet: have to submit form that charges you a 'fee' and then have it re-imbursed at check out. Not explained at check-in.
Basically, if your standard and expectations are low, then this hotel is for you. This is a 3 Star Hotel pretending to be 4 Star.
Left the hotel everyday feeling I couldn't trust the staff nor the management to respond to concerns. Also had to lock everything up to ensure that my goods were safe and not tampered with by staff.
