This is our second stay at this property. The location is right off the freeway, restaurants and shopping are close by. The rooms are decorated nice. I do have an issue with housekeeping and maintance. The shower head was pulling out from the tile and the tp holder was coming out of the wall. The drain was very slow. Housekeeping came into my room while I was in the shower. And I had a conversation with the maid, asking for her to come back later. Did she not hear the shower running? And there were spiders in my room. I did call down to the front desk about the spiders......they were removed. The maintenance issues can easily be taken care of.
Don't the managers spend the night in some of the rooms to see if their staff is doing their jobs?
I am sure that we will stay here again. The front desk staff was very nice and quickly checked us in.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by FrequentTraveler14 Wrong room reservation and upgraded to "suite"
When I was making my reservation I wanted two beds and I could only book a King with sofa pullout room, the second bed was a needed for my daughter. When I walked into our room there was not a sofa pullout only a King bed. Long story short they upgraded me to their "Courtyard Suite" because that was the only option, which in my opinion should not be labeled a "suite" at all. The only thing great about that room was the space, the old decor, old furniture, small bathroom, unusable balcony and smell did not represent a "suite". This was our second stay at this hotel and both times were unimpressive with service and ammenities. We will not return, too many other hotels in the area.

While we arrived early for check-in (11am), the young lady at the counter was indifferent to our arrival and she remained seated busy with whatever she was doing..! I have never felt so conscious about arriving early like we did at this hotel to a point where my wife commented that "may be we should apologize to the receptionist for intruding"..!! Again, we were NOT asking for any preferential treatment at all but she certainly made us feel unwelcomed. We spent the whole day in San Francisco and came back to the hotel at 10PM to check in...I have the date and time of arrival should the manager want to find out who lady was and advise her that her attitude and lack of courtesy is and will affect business at this hotel. Additionally, we requested the room to be cleaned well because my wife has severe allergies. When we entered the room, there were tooo many uncleaned spots and have we not been tired from traveling and walking all day, we would have taken photos and passed them to the manager. In summary, when we booked on line and asked for a cleaner room was not accommodated..

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by waterrat Two strikes and I'm done...
On the first occasion (last year in the Summer), the air conditioner didn't work and we were ultimately moved to a different room. Fair enough, these things happen...
However, during our second stay this year, we were placed in an incorrect (cheaper and smaller) room which did not match the room we reserved. Initially the front desk said it was my mistake until I offered my printed reservation which clearly showed the type of room reserved. Subsequently we were relocated to the correct type of room, but one of the two the sleep number beds would not work properly, making that bed unusable. One side of the bed was super-inflated while the other was more than completely deflated. Upon contacting the front desk for assistance, we were told no other rooms were available because they were sold out that evening.
The maintenance person dispatched to our room was completely clueless and could not fix the problem, but his chances of being successful were bleak from the beginning as he only spoke Spanish, and we only spoke English. No communication makes a successful outcome highly unlikely.
To be fair, the night shift person at the front desk did make an effort to move us into another room that was out of order. But that option seemed "sketchy" at best, especially at 1 AM in the morning. In the end, we did receive a minor discount on the room cost and free meal tickets, but as my family of four had an uncomfortable evening without enough rest, we should have been fully refunded at a minimum. I can say we will not be returning for the third strike.

Location was very convenient.
The front desk staff were nice. Was acknowledged right away for being a rewards member but then immediately told "too bad you just missed complimentary happy hour". Would have been nice to be told that and then given a comp glass of wine instead of a "you would have gotten this but you didn't" comment.
It continued down hill with the restaurant and room.
After waiting to be acknoledged by the bartentender to order food to go I had to wait almost an hour for my food (hamburger). Had I been given any kind of attention I may have ordered a drink and even tipped the guy but although there were only a few people at the bar, I did not exisit. Unit of course he came by with a to go order only for him to look at me and say "it's not yours". It was clear he did not like his job, nor did he want to be there. Did I mention on top of all that, he got more order wrong? And that was after I said it to him at least 3 times!
The room was neat but not what I would call clean. I had a late meeting so was not out bright & early but from 7am on and almost every 15 minutes you get hear housekeeping pounding on doors to see if you checked out so she could get in to clearn (my door was pounded on twice). Would it not have been better to use the computer system to see who is there or not?
Your front desk staff were the only ones that saved this hotel. I mentention my poor experience with them and they even commented that the bartender treats them the same way...really??? Must be a realtive of the owner (ha)

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by brandonp Pool broken, front desk manager offered few solutions
I stood in line and watched the front desk manager offer a guy 3 nights, then said, "wait, never mind, just two, we're booked." the guy obliged and then the mgr said" oh wait, actually just tonight is available. Do you still want the room?" The guy had no choice.
After he called and ordered a triple cheeseburger from somewhere where everyone one could here.
After we worked out, we wanted to swim. No luck. They were doing something to the pool. No one told us what or when the problem would be repaired. So we didn't swim.
The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. But the quality of holiday inn i'm used to was severly diminished.
IHG recognition was a bottle of dejavu water. Holiday expresses have given me much better.

The Holiday Inn Dublin is conveniently located near the freeway and shopping. The staff is excellent, from the front desk to the housekeeping and restaurant. I've stayed at a few places in the local area on business over the last two years, but once I stayed here it has become my home away from home. I've watched the people welcome others when I'm checking in and they are always courteous and helpful to everyone. Highly recommended. I stay here for work but also for short vacations.

I had a *very minor* issue, and when I brought it to the front desk's attention that were extremely accommodating, and asked me which of several solutions would be satisfactory
. I was thrilled that the front desk agents could take care of my problem and I didn't have to wait for the manager to come in the next day.

This was the worst stay i've had in years, the check in was not personal, customer service was very poor. Had to request extra towels every night, soap ,shampoo, etc... We have been staying at Holiday in express for 2 years, and have never experienced this uncaring type of behavior. The ice machine did not work on our floor had to check the whole Hotel and found one that worked, even after notifying front desk. Know water in the machines and had to ask the desk for drinking water. Just not a great first time in the bay area. They could have showed that they appreciated us as customers.

This property is a brief walk to the Dublin BART station. BART really zips along and gets you into SF in just over a half-hour. I received a complimentary upgrade from a King room to a King with Sofabed, which is a large room, like a mini-suite, with a large marble vanity and large mirror in the bathroom, and a large marble vanity and large mirror just outside the bathroom. I was able to get a good night's sleep, and the pillows were comfortable. There are high-definition channels available on the flat-screen TV. There is a restaurant in the hotel, and restaurants within walking distance. There is a Target, Safeway, CVS, and many other stores, in a nearby shopping center, which is very walkable. They have a nice amenity of chilled water with different citrus flavors in the lobby area. The hotel staff was professional and courteous. I especially liked the fact that they only put a $35 hold in my card, since I was using points. Many properties routinely put a $50 hold in your card, even if you are using points (for award travel). I did not have time to check out the pool or fitness room. From the website, I can see that they have a lavish bridal suite and a lavish executive suite. I also like the environmental control system in the room, which allows you to run the fan only if you wish -- it is easy to use. Some hotels have weird environmental control systems that can be frustrating.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by LiveInHotels Unsuitable for a work stay
The single BIGGEST issue is that they can't get the internet working. This is unacceptable in today's world and I would not recommend this location to anyone who needs internet connectivity.
Otherwise, rooms are clean and the staff is pleasant. Parking is a hassle if the hotel is full.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wicky707 Devalued Priority Club Platinum Member?
I'm writing this after a recent negative experience; however, I had a positive experience at this exact same hotel just a week ago. I guess it all depends on what employee you get and what mood they may be in. I cannot say that my recent interaction with a staff member was bad or that she was rude in any way, but the policy of the hotel which she claimed to be enforcing is bad for business. I will let everyone in on a little secret. Apparently, if you are a paying customer (and a paying customer only), you get a "Pick Your Perk" opportunity - 500 bonus points, a free drink, or breakfast. Well, if you are using your Priority Club points, you aren't that lucky. You are less valuable to them so they don't (or aren't supposed to) extend that little benefit. I find this wrong because my points are like currency. I earned them and I choose to spend them at hotels that offer me the best perks and value. HI Express, for example, doesn't exclude their point stayers from having complimentary breakfast. Why, then, does a hotel go out of their way to discriminate between groups of guests? When I stayed here a week ago, I got treated like royalty. The male at check-in went out of his way to make me feel good. He offered the "Pick Your Perk" without me even having to ask. When I asked the female at the counter just tonight, she said my stay didn't qualify for it because I used points. All stays should qualify if you are going to offer a perk. Otherwise, you are devaluing your loyal customers.

The quality of the customer service here is what makes me give this hotel a top rating. It isn't as impressive appearance-wise as other Holiday Inns (or other hotels for that matter) but my executive suite was clean and orderly so no complaints there.
I booked a room online, only to find out after the fact that I could have qualified for a discounted room rate since I was staying there as part of an event I was working. I called the front desk and explained the situation. I was told the rooms reserved for the discount group event rate were all gone so I was stuck with my room and original rate.
When I mentioned this to my event coordinator, she made a call and spoke to who I guess was the person in charge of reservations, Wayne. She then told me to call back and ask to speak with Wayne directly. It took a few transfers for me to finally reach him (the lady at the front desk claimed they don't have individual extensions for people) but I finally got a hold of him and explained my situation.
Not only did Wayne modify my reservation to reflect the discount room rate, he let me keep my executive suite (the discount group event rate was only for standard rooms). To put the icing on the cake, he allowed me to do an early check-in and when I got to my room, a voicemail was waiting for me on the hotel phone from the front desk, asking if everything was to my satisfaction.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TimboSD Better the second time
This was my second stay at this property.
I was not impressed on my first visit, largely because I had expectations that the property failed to deliver. This time, I knew better what to expect.
On the negative side, I hate the layout of this property. It's an architectural nightmare (on the inside, at least - it looks fine outside#. It's as if two...or three...buildings were cobbled together with no architect to make a seemless connection.
At one point, I was unable to retrace my steps back to my room from the restaurant, so I had to go back to the lobby and start over. I never did find the stairs I came down to go back up - I ended up using the elevator.
On the positive side, the front desk staff was very nice at both check-in and check-out #however, the bartender wasn't that friendly...).
As a Priority Club member, I was given the choice of extra points, free breakfast, or a cocktail. That was nice.
The room itself was clean and mostly quiet. I was just there for one night - it was fine.
I would stay there again.

Hotel is in a good Location with easy access to the interstate. However, the rooms are old and the walls are paper thin. I was there 3 days and the whole time I could hear the TV in the adjacent rooms and the person walking in the room above me (apparently this person liked to walk a lot)

I stay at this location for Business meetings every other month and the rooms have always been Clean, no noise and I feel very safe. Not all rooms have a refrigerator or microwave. So when you plane on staying there for more than 2 days this is not good. Cleanliness of room is horrible, they don't always replace all your towels. The rooms don't get cleaned before 3:30 or 4:00, even when you leave @ 0630. My first week, the only highlight wa the bar/restaraunt. When youread it has a fitness center, you should know that consist of 1 treadmill, 2 bikes, elliptical machine, and1 weak weight machine that limits what you can do. My second week I moved into a room with a refrigerator and microwave. which was better until I realized the shower leaking was going to keep me up all night. After 3 attempts to have it fixed, I realized it was a waste of time. Again the room weren't cleaned well and towels weren't replaced. My previous poor review from the first week was deleted and we'll see if they delete this one as well.

I have been staying at this property for its very good location but I have found that the management and staff members are so focused on my satisfaction that I stay here now even when not as convenient for my business trip. The property is consistently being upgraded and improved; when I have any issues at all they are immediately handled and I just get the feeling always that everyone cares. The pricing for a full service hotel is the best in the area and I appreciate that each time I visit I always notice some improvement in some area of the hotel. The maintenance team seem to be focused on constant meaningful improvement over cosmetic ones. The housekeeping staff are very attentive and work around my schedule. The front desk folks are attentive and their manager is always focused on customer satisfaction. Food and beverage management and staff create something better than "hotel food" and are flexible to make their customers feel special. Food and beverage manager is always interested in what her clients are looking for and keeps the beverages that their regular clients ask for.
You cannot beat this property and team anywhere in the tri valley area.

We thought the location and hotel where in a nice area! Although if there are bookings for the convention rooms for nighttime parties be sure to book in the detached building if you want any sleep! We were there for a training and exhausted after a day workout. To return to loud bass/music till 12:30 am. Needless to say a lot of folks were not happy. If it wasn't for the exhausting day we would of had no problem with the music/party because we would of been enjoying our nightlife as well... to the wee hours of the morning. Other than that nice hotel and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will return when in the area and need lodging.
