Very nice place, stayed 2 times now, but this time I paid in cash and there still is a charge on my master card after 3 days, that is still pending!!!
I better not be charge twice. Still waiting for the charge to be gone.

We reserved a room late in the day and they were very willing to accomidate us with what we were wanting for a room choice. The staff was professional and friendly. the rooms were neat and clean. This is our 2nd stay at this hotel and we have been very happy with it.

Front desk was friendly and outgoing. Breakfast staff was slow and had to be asked to refill items. Were not prepared for Saturday's crowd. Had to wait a while for things to be microwaved (eggs and sausage). Room was clean,quiet and cozy.

Stayed at this hotel three nights last week. I checked out on Wednesday morning and decided later that day to check back in and drive early the next morning. A good night of sleep was very valuable for me. The beds and pillows were awesome. Please tell me where I can buy one for home.
I'd like to see the cleaning crew vacuum along the edge of the walls more often. (It is just a personal thing, didn' affect my sleep)

I usually stay in Holiday hotels when I travel, and they all have great service and rooms, and recognizes for Priority Club members givinh some water and cookies when arrive; however, when I checked in, they didn't offer anything.
I think recognizing Priority Club members is a good way to keep customers comming.
Besides that, I would say, this hotel is a good hotel to stay.

We brought our small dog with us to this hotel and it was very pet friendly. Also, the beds were very comfortable after a day of skiing at Sundown. Thanks!

Very clean room, good breakfast variety and excellent pool and hot tub availability. Staff were somewhat unprofessional and more interested in personal conversations and checking the computers than helping customers. Had to ask a staff to open the pool because our room card wouldn't work and after making us wait while she checked her computer and kept telling us just a minute her response was "You know you only have a half hour to swim right?" as if she didn't want to have to help us. Impressive accomodations, mediocre staff.

The guy at the front desk was really nice. Coffee and tea was always available in the breakfast area even late at night. The room was clean, nice and quiet. No fitness area, but give you a free pass to Anytime Fitness a short drive away.

Back in DBQ on family business. Had issues /w first room and was promptly moved after notifying desk. Our stay was very pleasant. Staff very pleasant and friendly. My only beef was/is breakfast. Mind yo, I was there for a week and never saw bacon at all. No bacon...in DBQ, IA!!

Check-in at 10:30 pm trying to get sleep to attend a funeral. By 11:30pm my room 131 was still COLD. Front desk said repairman could fix in the morning---REALLY?
Front desk lady said room should not have been rented as the heater was broken!!!!!! Are you kidding me?
I had to repack my stuff and move to 133. That was around midnight. No rest for me. I was told that the manager would get with me in the morning. They never did. Another false promise!
Can you imagine renting a room without working heat?

The room and hotel was very clean. Friendly staff. The complimentary hot breakfast was delicious. We highly recommend the Dubuque Holiday Inn Express for business or pleasure trip..
Jeffery, the front desk worker went above and beyond the call of duty. when he signed me up for the rewards club. And he recommended a local restaurant and he gave us a 10% discount voucher. The Jeff.

Have stayed at this location several times, and have never had any problems. At breakfast one morning, the juice machine was only dispensing water and I informed the staff member on duty. She filled it up and while I went back to my table to wait for a minute, she surprised me by bringing over a glass of orange juice right to my table. I didn't expect "waitress" service at the inn but I told her how great she was to do that. Sometimes it's the little things.......

We stay at this Holiday Inn for various family celebrations in th Dubuque area. We will find a different hotel going forward.
The bed was hard, and the pillows were old. The floorwas not vacuum in our room and the elevator was just plain dirty.
I stay at many Holiday Inns for business. This by far was one of the dirtist.
When you close th bathroom door you could see that something was sprayed on to the door and never ripped down.

Great customer service, nice area, nice clean & updated hotel good value. The only thing I would have changed was the continental breakfast not the best or much for choices. However this wouldn't keep me from staying again. NICE PROPERTY!

I am a platinum elite member. I mention that because as a regular customer, I am used to a certain level of Holiday Inn Express quality. I did not expect special attention with this kind of booking of three days.
So here are my issues. The bed was hard.
The room had no easy chair, just a solid desk chair.( My stay of three days was supposed to be a time for me to read.)
With two beds in the room, it was awkward to move around, not enough room in my judgment for two queen sized beds.I was alone so a king sized bed with a decent chair would have been appreciated. I did ask the desk clerk for this but was told that I'd have "to make do." which I did for three days.
However, the room was spotless and breakfasts were just fine.

Also, nice size room. Staff very nice - nice location.
Good Breakfast - nice pool.
We came for Galena and this hotel was not that far but MUCH more economical than the hotels in Galena.
I would stay again - no complaints at all!.

our reservation was saved under the wrong last name (not even close to correct spelling!). Wwe made reservation directly at the Dubuque plod at inn express. This same person did not give us the cheapest rate between company discount and AAA even with my husband asking all the correct questions. Upon arrival, the lady at the desk cleared everything up but that took 15 minutes.

Being able to clearly hear what is going on in the hallway and the next room made for a hard time sleeping. Overcooked powdered eggs are gross, try the cheese omelets that are just warm and serve. Staff was very nice and having the local paper available at breakfast was a perk.

The evening desk person, Shawn, is a great example of how every HIE employee should treat guests. He is friendly, efficient and knows his job well.
Breakfast was somewhat a disappointment, no meat, over done egg blitzes, pancakes were like rubber............

An adequate motel, but almost impossible to find. A sign on the main highway to the south says "1.5 miles (to the north)", but we were unable to see the almost illegible sign on the building because it is behind a huge golden arches sign. So we drove back and forth and went through the nearby residential area.
And although it's no fault of Holiday Inn, the motel is nowhere to be found on the latest Garmin GPS update (2014.20) so that just makes things more difficult.

Shawn helped us check in, his smile and conversation started our stay in a great way!! Great room, and the bed was soo comfortable. I loved the pillows so much I contacted the manager Lanette about buying one!! Pool wasn't too cold, and the Jacuzzi wasn't too hot :) Breakfast was yummy. But the pancake maker has to go!! It was like someone ironed my pancake ha! You need to get one of the Waffle makers that they have at other Holiday Inn Express Hotels :) The heater fan was a bit noisy when it kept going on and off to adjust to the 71 degree setting.
