Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service, great room! I would recommend this hotel. But first make sure you are a IHG rewards member! They make sure to take care of their members and we sure got that when we stayed! I didn't want to pay more for a lake view room but when I booked I asked to be upgraded if the rooms were available , and sure enough we got lucky! The view of the lake is beautiful! Also when you book make sure you're up on floors 7 and above. Because 7 and up need a key, levels 6 and lower essentially anyone can get to those levels. Yes, even people not stating there if they enter from the holiday center.. And travel in the elevators. We did not take the decc tunnels, but they're are a cool thing to offer! And will use them next time we stay! July 22, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice, but not so nice It is a nicely updated hotel, however there are some things that make the stay not so wonderful. First to start is the 20 minute wait to get on the small, slow, and extremely busy elevators. Then when you finally get to your relaxing suite, you find out that it is overlooking a pool that is LOUD and noisy in the room. Unable to relax or sleep till the pool closed at 10:30 pm. Some better sound management techniques should have been used at the last remodel. The room was clean. The two restaurants that are part of the hotel have fair food, nothing more then your average bar or cafe food. Big plus is that the hotel is attached to the skyway system. Would not recommend paying for a weekend stay in a suite to relax and to be stuck listening to screaming kids in the pool. A room like that should overlook the city. July 20, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Overrated We had to change rooms shortly after checking in as one of the beds had a lot of black dog hair on the white sheets. I was offered a Benadryl by the front desk and I declined as I had my own allergy medication with me. We were offered another room that was not as nice as the first room and smelt smokey. We also found a little more black dog hair on both bed sheets and cleaned it off ourselves. The front desk did not call to ask if the room was okay or not. At 7:30 am the next morning, hammer drilling on concrete from another floor started (I guess they are doing renovations) which woke us up. At 9:00 am, the room cleaning staff knocked on my door when I had the "do not disturb sign" posted outside the door. As I was leaving to check out, 2 cleaning staff women where talking in another language to each other in a heated conversation by the 8th floor elevator lobby and I had to ask them to move so I could manover the luggage cart into the elevator. #I don't think they heard me and continued on with their heated conversation.# When we checked out, the front desk did not ask how our stay was or how the changed room was. When I asked where to return the luggage cart after loading my vechile, the front desk advised me to put it back in the parkade where I came from. No signage was indicated where exactly to return the luggage carts so I just left it outside the front parkade door. When we left the parkade, the night before and on the morning we were leaving, they was no parkade attendant at the exit either time, so we just left our parking ticket on the gate box exit. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Service We enjoyed Becky at Sneakers Bar who is the Bartender there. She makes our trip so wonderful and she is very nice! She is the biggest reason why we come back to Holiday inn Duluth. The only thing I would complain about is the 15 percent charge when you check in. I thought that was horrible and kind of ruin the start of our vacation there. I never use room service or order movies, so I am not sure why I needed to be charged an extra 15 percent at check in. I was charge almost an extra 130 dollars at check in and they never explain that to me until I looked at my bank statement when I got to my room. I think the next time I stay there I should not be charged an extra 15 percent because I don't use any services there and it cost way to much extra. July 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Customer service THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE ever of my 26 years of business travel. Frank (Manager) helped me extend another night stay over the 4th of July while I was on business travel during the 2nd and 3rd of July. This was not easy because the service and answers I got over the phone from the Holiday inn customer care was less than stellar!! They denied my extended stay over the phone for the 4th and made it very difficult to qualify for another nights stay for reward points after my business stay. They also took an hour to resolve wi them on the phone. However, Frank did a great job helping out and acomedating us to stay in the same room and spoke to the customer care for us and validated the stay. Frank had the foresight to recognize my Elite status and also noticed a worked for a large company -ITW.....Thank you and I'll be back again!!! July 16, 2014
