My questions were answered quickly and accurately, and they just went ahead and made reservation for me. Upon check-in, staff helpful, courteous, and friendly, yet still business-like and professional. There was a hockey tournament in town same time we were there. We were very afraid it would be a noisy night. But all was quiet and comfortable. Don't know if that's because of the hotel, or the fact that the boys were ragged out from hockey, but at any rate, it was a quiet comfortable night. Good value and great location if you have business or pleasure in DLH. December 13, 2012

Travelled there with my children for a hockey tournament and we got there to check in, they wouldn't take my 'prepaid' credit card: understandable totally. Frustrating though; as a full of tired children. Then, we had a game one morning and I left my 16 year old son to go swimming with his younger sister & cousin. He forgot his room key in the room; he went to the front desk to ask for another: they wouldn't give him another one because he wasn't over 18. On more than one occasion; I watched the front desk staff give children keys to their room! I left my children there at the hotel thinking that my children would be okay; instead they were cold & couldn't do anything about it! Thankfully, the housecleaning staff let them into our room after my son asked politely....just like he did at the front desk!! December 10, 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great beds and very clean The elevators were a night mare 15 minutes to go down and back up and crowded other wise it was a good experience. We will stay there again but will book on the entry level so as to avoid the long waits for the elevators as my patients wear thin with waiting and being crowded in,because everone is trying to avoid waiting longer. Other wise the location sevices and eteries were all very good. The free shuttle being one very valuble extra. December 6, 2012

Need amn updated, larger exercise facility. 4 treadmills jammed together with little to other options and no space to do any kind of execise, will prevent me from staying there again. If you deem this a poor value, please partner with a nearby gym to sort something out. December 3, 2012

Had a dead battery and they made sure I got a jump (at no charge), room reservations were easy to make and were kept. Found taht the floor we were supposed to be on had a lot of loud hockey teams on it....they moved us right away and made sure our stay was outstanding!! Free shuttle to the long term parking (with stay) while on our trip to vegas... Great location and restaurants without even having to go outside... November 16, 2012

The management staff and front desk staff were especially helpful and attentive to my needs. The food at Porters, The Greenery and Sneakers was always good and the service was great. November 7, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel but... I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. But there was one problem that was very annoying. The heating/air conditining system was extremely loud. It made it difficult to sleep as it got even louder went it cycled on to keep the room warm. I was startled a number of times throughout the night by the roar of the heating system. I eventually got used to it, but it was extremely loud. The staff was great and I had a delicious breakfast at Porter's restaurant. November 7, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Location is good...but too many partiers This hotel needs to completely ban smoking on site. Too many weekend partiers staying at the hotel for our taste. Too much yelling in the hallways, doors slamming, etc. Elevators were very slow...and constantly full. Paid way too much for the room to have this type of experience. October 26, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Booked a non-smoking room but was assigned a smoking room I was very disappointed with my last stay at the Duluth Holiday Inn. I've stayed at this hotel many times and had good experiences in the past but this time I was very dissatisfied. When I checked in I was told I had been assigned a smoking room (I had requested a non-smoking room) but that the room was aired out and shouldn't smell. I visited the room and found it to smell like a smoking room and I requested a room change, only to be told that they had no rooms available to move me to. I also ran into another guest in the hallway that was in the same situation as me. She also had to suffer in the smoking room. I had a very early flight on Friday and only was staying at the hotel Thursday night. I checked in and was looking forward to using my hotel room to catch up on some business work and emails and then get a good night's rest. Instead I had to relocate to the coffee shop down the street because my room smelled of old cigarettes. Sleeping was uncomfortable as well and I didn't feel rested in the morning. It's very saddening that this hotel books rooms to the capacity without any regard for guest preferences for smoking or non-smoking. October 24, 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A little pricey, but worth it. The Holiday Inn really added to my first-time experience of Duluth. It's nearly ideally located for wandering around Duluth on foot. The Skywalk is easily accessible. All of my experiences with hotel staff were positive. Check-In and Check-Out were done lightning fast. Everyone was very helpful. Even the maids were pleasant and agreeable. The restaurant choices simplified our stay quite a bit. We patronized the Sneakers Sports Bar, Porter's for breakfast, and Starbucks during our stay. Service was fast and friendly, food was delicious. October 12, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by horrible experience We stayed there to be able to go to my brothers wedding. The room was not good at all-we paid LOTS to stay there and the tv didn't get all the channels and was told there was nothing they could do. Hair dryer didn't work and had to wait for them to bring another-which almost made us late to the wedding-we were late for the pictures. THe room was not really that clean, light bulbs burnt out. We wll NEVER stay there again. October 12, 2012
