Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Room awful. Won't stay there again. The room was terrible -and this was a suite upgrade. The room had peeling wallpaper. Some bits of furniture that should be in a skip. The bathroom had cracked tiles bits of tiles missing and worst of all was lots of black mould around bath and shower. Staff were helpful but only able to say rooms will be upgraded soon. Not good enough considering it is not a cheap hotel By holiday inn group prices- simply no excuse. Rooms in this state should not be used. I will not go back for the foreseeable future. Worst holiday inn room I ever stayed in and over the years that is a huge number. November 17, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing - the worst Holiday Inn we have stayed in We have stayed in everal Holiday Inn and H.I. Express hotels and were very disappointed with this hotel. It was not cheap and the conditions in the room and restaurant left a lot to be desired. The staff, however, were very polite and helpful. November 17, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A very tired hotel room As a value for money option the weekend rate was good value. We stayed here because the Busby Hotel was too expensive for what it was. We had a king size bedroom which was very tired with lots of painting, papering and bathroom issues. Whoever does the quality inspection needs to spend more than 60 seconds in our room and see for themselves the issues and ideally smell the shower curtain. What is it about hotel room shower curtains they never get changed? We used the pool on the Sunday and Monday, nothing wrong with any of that experience except the GREEN pond outside of the pool windows. I have stayed in other Holiday Inns in the UK and this was my worst room experience. On check out no one asked anything about our experience of the stay. November 17, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Business Trip The rooms are showing wear, but clean and comfortable. Staying for business, I need wifi, this is extremely poor and keeps dropping out. When you do get a connection its so slow you cant work anyway and is non-existent in your room. The restaurant service on the first night was shocking and the wait was not acceptable, there was not even an apology. Overall the restaurant menu has changed since my last visit, it was poor and dumbed down. The only plus points were the friendliness of the staff. I will be looking for alternative Hotels for my next trip. November 13, 2014

Comfy warm room, friendly staff, good service and nice food. Generally a nice place to stay. I would visit again. November 12, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Could be a lot better The staff are very friendly and willing to do everything they can and always do their best. But, the building is a bit tired and the rooms so far (6+ stays) have all had cracked sanitary ware. The air conditioning is impossible to get right so the rooms are always cold and the furniture is very dated. Very little atmosphere, mostly visitors on business, often no-one in the hotel lounges but car park is full - high intake for spa from local area not staying at hotel? Biggest disappointment is the food, which when I started going there a few years ago was excellent, now it is struggling to be average. E.g I had a completely bland pizza - how can you do that? The whole place needs a refresher from paint to menu and from bathrooms to furniture, the staff might then have the hardware to match their efforts. November 9, 2014
