Stay was very pleasant and comfortable. Good night,s sleep only down side was the very noisy cloud in the bar about 8 people drunk from drinking all day thee is no way you could sit in bar area and ignore the noise and the bad language been spoken,ended up taking our drink to our room,kind of spoilt it, as we like to have our dinner then relax over a couple of drinks, but obviously they had spent the day drinking and spent a lot of money in the bar, even the batman commented that they wee noisy and commented on they wee the same the night before,, really need to consider all guests

This is our second visit to this Holiday Inn. We were again very impressed. When I booked I asked for a room at the front of the building. Shortly after booking I received a phone call from the reservations team because they did not have any of the type of room I had booked at the front. They were extremely helpful and ammeded my booking so we could have the room we wanted.
The views were amazing and the bed extremely comfortable. The spa and the parking facilites were also very good. Its a great location for visiting the zoo and only 15 minutes on the bus to Princess Street.
We will definitely be staying here again.

Tis has got to be the coldest hotel I have ever stayed in and when reception were informed there seemed to be nothing they could do....
On arriving back in the office this was the talk of the day as everyone seemed to have the same issue.

I have stayed at this hotel many times on business and leisure. As a platinum member this is the first time I have been disappointed not to be given a room upgrade to an executive double looking ovet golf course at check in. It was a new member of staff who was very friendly, she asked another receptionist who has been there for some time if could upgrade and without even looking or be told that I was a platinum member she said no immediately that no rooms available. I accepted this as i understand it is subject to availability and headed to my room that looked out to the large car park. However it was disappointing when checking room availability on the website that there are executive double available. I still had an enjoyable stay. Room clean and comfortable. Location is ideal for getting bus into city. Leisure/spa facilities great. I had a lovely massage in the spa. Lovely bar meal in the lounge area. I will definitely be staying here again

Perfect location for city and surrounding area being close to airport and next door to the zoo. Hotel guests can enjoy half price zoo admission from October to March. A car is not necessary as plenty of buses stop outside the hotel. The area also has a good variety of reasonable priced restaurants and bars if you choose not to dine in hotel. The room was comfortable and quiet and a good selection of cooked and continental buffet breakfast is available. This was not our first stay at this hotel and hopefully will not be our last.

Holiday Inns can be very variable. Most are large sleep factories with good size rooms, comfortable beds and clean facilities. This pushes all those buttons, but my room was that bit nicer, the breakfast area somewhat brighter, the staff just a little perkier. As usual for the brand I slept well in the comfortable bed, but as a whole this has just that edge over the average for the brand, which is almost always a good brand for the money in comparison to the rest of the mid-market competition. This was just that little bit better!
Platinum recognition... I've never put much store by platinum recognition in IHG as it's always been relatively easy to qualify for and the extra points are good enough, but this year IHG has changed the scheme and as a result Platinum is much harder to achieve, hence recognition for the program is far more important. This place recognises the program well, with a room upgrade, offer of free points or drink/snack and providing the free platinum internet in a straightforward format (if you're not a member, then join. The free internet alone for all members from 1/1/14 is worth it). Furthermore when I asked for a late checkout on the Sunday, it was granted with ease, "late checkout, ah, platinum, yes that's fine, sir."
All in all a good stay, and would return.
Oh, and finally, yes... It's right next to the zoo! But beware, that means it's about 3 miles from the city centre!

we had a good time here but it could have been great except for a couple of things.
the room was cold when we arrived and I turned on the radiator which warmed it up but then went off so I tried the air conditioning and it only blew out cold air no matter how high I set the temperature. the room was320 at the end of the corridor so maybe the heating struggled to get there, anyway it was not cold enough to complain but I would have liked to increase the room temperature a little.
I went to reception around 9.30 pm, there was one customer waiting and there was only one receptionist who was sat at the computer talking on the phone. After a few minutes I asked the receptionist if there was no one else to help but was ignored.
then after another few minutes there was by now a queue of four people waiting to check in. the barman came to the reception desk for something and could see the problem and said he would find the duty manager, the girl finished on the phone and came to help the first customer with no apology not even an acknowledgement as if I did not exist. .a simple "sorry for the wait " would have been good. shortly after another receptionist came on and dealt with me no problem.
apart from that we had a great time the restaurant staff were excellent and even the chef came and asked us if we enjoyed the meal so 11 out of 10 for them 4 out 10 for reception staff.
shame a great night was spoiled by Kamara on reception staff .
