Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Commingling Travelers' Rooms with Bus Groups - Noisy WHile I understand the need and importance of tour groups by bus, the commingling of the rooms of separate travelers amongst those of the bus tours makes it too noisy and too inconvenient. The bus travelers mingle in the hallways talking loudly, especially after having a few drinks at the bar. This makes it difficult for other travelers to have a peaceful evening. The hotel had 5 floors and two wings. Putting us all in the same wing and same floors also created a mad rush for the elevators between the porters, housekeepers and travelers. I could not even get off the elevator before the porters started pushing luggage carts in. And, there needs to be a location for busses to load in the morning that does not block the vehicles. We had to wait 20 minutes before the bus finally loaded all the luggage and passengers before we could back out of the parking spot. Much to much inconvenience and lack of thought for those not traveling in a large group. September 25, 2013

Rooms just updated-older hotel, but updated and kept up. Green Mill is great for dinner and beverages after a long day. I stay every time I am in the area. September 9, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Damp Room Our room was damp. The sheets felt wet when we got into bed. Our clothes felt damp when we put them on. The hallway carpeting was in need of cleaning. We got a buy one drink/get one free coupon and when we attempted to use it at the bar, (we bought four drinks) the waitress gave us the cheaper of the drinks free even though we bought two of each. She did fix it but first argued and said the computer does it, she has no control. I responded to the survey that was emailed to me and even though I stated the above complaints, I was not contacted about my issues. Would not stay here again. September 8, 2013

Had breakfast each morning at the hotel; the variety on the menu was good, and the wait staff were helpful and friendly. There was some type of unusual smell in the room, although I couldn't say what the smell was from. September 3, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by back in time I really enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn, Fairmont. It was like a step back in time for me in that I was born and raised in Fairmont and worked at the hotel bar about 3 decades ago! The rooms were beautiful, the beds were comfortable, the pillows were amazing, and the bath supplies smelled fantastic! I would have loved to have taken about a dozen each with me of the shampoo, conditioner and body lotion! It was a very short stay, and everything was lovely. We did have a stray black sock left in our room right under the coat rack area, but other than that it seemed to be impeccably clean. Thank you for an enjoyable stay! I checked as a con the Recognition for IHG Rewards Club Members because other places I've gone I've received some kind of gift at check-in, and at this hotel I really didn't receive anything other than a couple of coupons for the bar/restaurant that I couldn't use during my stay, and I was unsure as to whether they were even just for IHG Rewards Club Members or if they went out with every room key. It's not a huge deal, but I thought I would get something - a complimentary bottle of water and/or snack for the room at the very least. It's a minor thing, really - I would definitely not avoid the property because of it - everything else was very nice. August 21, 2013
