Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Experience My wife and I took my daughter and niece for a little fun and relaxation. I'd never heard of CoCo Key until a few weeks ago. I was extremely happy with the whole experience. The Hotel was modern and clean. The Staff was very pleasant and eager to accommodate. The Water Park exceeded my expectations and made the kids very happy. I particularly was impressed by the lifeguards and how well they performed their duties. I will be going back as often as possible. April 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great stay I travel to Fitchburg often and would stay here any time there is a room available. The bed is very comfortable and the room is excellent. The staff has always treated us with dignity and respect . April 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Food/Room My Family and I stayed here on 3/29/2013-3/30/2013, It was a very nice hotel to stay at except for these few things. We went to the applewood resturant thinking we could be able to order from a menu but after we had order our drinks the waitress said "They told you it was a buffett right"? which they didnt. we had already ordered our drinks so there was not point on leaving. They had a kids side with mac n cheese and chicken nuggets with fruit and carrots which wasnt bad for the kids. i had gone up to get my food and then seen i was unable to eat to eat the two main dishes (fish and manacotti) due to food allergies which i was not very happy about if they had told us from the beginning that it was a buffett we would have not gone there. Onto the room, after arrving the room looked clean, we left went to the water park and when we got back my 4 yr old son wanted to take a bath sure why not? he was helping me get the bath ready and when he took the bathmat out of the rack under the sink a used razor fell out onto the floor i qucikly picked it up and put it out of reach i wasnt expecting it figured that there wouldnt be anything like if the housekeeper had checked under there when cleaning. Other then those two things we had a good time, the water park was really full and not alot of parents where keeping an eye on there children knocking over little kids and disrespectful. i would reccomend it to my friends and family but will let them know about our stay. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Excellent weekend of water park fun I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent service and accommodations at this Holiday Inn property. The reviews I read had me a little worried but a phone call to the manager before our visit satisfied my questions. We were 4 people, 2 adults, and 2 kids 9 and 12. The check in was early and no problem. The hotel was clean and the meals a real value as kids 12 and under eat free at the restaurant w/adult meal. The water park was busy but very well supervised and very clean. Plenty of room for belongings and lots of extra chairs for tired parents to pull up and watch the kids on the many attractions. We just loved the whole weekend and will visit again next winter. I would highly recommend this hotel and water park. March 31, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy We stayed for my daughter's 10th birthday utilitzing the waterpark pass package. We arrived to a beautiful hotel and the check in staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean. However, the beds were much too soft and the noise level from the hall into the room was very high. There seemed to be no noise barrier at all. We heard every conversation as people walked by and there were multiple times a VERY creaky cart travelled by. None of us slept well due to this. We also found the food lacking at the buffet. The only options for the kids were chicken nuggets and mac and cheese. The adult buffet seemed to be full of frozen, "heat up" food, nothing that a chef would have prepared. We will probably not return. March 28, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Clean room but very noisy at night I felt the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very nice and inviting. Our room was clean, comfortable, and nicely kept. However, the restaurant is less than satisfactory - lacking in atmosphere and more disappointingly, the food was terrible. It is the second year that we stayed at this hotel and we found both the dinner buffet and breakfast buffet to be tasteless. It was cafeteria food at best. Traveling a short distance east on Rte 2 would be well worth the trip to find an alternative eating establishment. In defense of the staff in the restaurant, I have to say the wait staff was friendly. We had a room on the fourth floor and we found it to be very noisy at night. There were many young people and their parents partying until midnight. Both years that we visited this hotel, our experience was the same. Perhaps it is because of its nature - it is attached to a waterpark attracting many young families on holiday. March 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by room was nice The park was great. Children went for hours and had a great time. Room was big and clean. When it came to the food or service with the food, it was terrible. For one thing there was no healthy food choice for the children on the childrens menu. Then after ordering, the adults ate from the buffet i myself eat slow. I finished my soup, salad and my meal and was eating dessert before my son finally got his grilled cheese. The next morning we ate the breakfast buffet and when we all finished eating is when i finally received my coffee and water. In the water park there is no healthy choice for food at all. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Stay Stayed at the Holiday Inn Fitchburg for business. Overall a good stay with a good clean room and facilities. Mens room in lobby was in disrepair and in need of cleaning at times during the stay. I was greeted nicely at check in and the people were nice to deal with, telling all the appropriate information that needed to be known. Had a good nights sleep. The only two complaints with the stay is the internet speed was really slow. Stayed there a couple of years ago and the speed was much better. Also, the lobby mens room as mentined above. Overall good stay. March 21, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Mattress Horrible! Large room with 2 double-beds,however, mattresses were awful. Sunken-in,uncomfortable and obviously very old. The dust-ruffle was stained with what appeared to be a large splatter of beverage. The lighting in the bathroom was extremely poor. The dimmest bathroom lighting for a hotel I've ever seen. Would not recommend! Never received the wake-up call I requested either March 15, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by overnight stay Overall, the stay was comfortable. However, there cracked tiles in the bath and holes in the bathroom ceiling. Also, there where insects by the chair closest to the window. The room is not bad, it just needs to address these issues. March 15, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by stay at hotels at least monthly the rooms were old things were falling apart. the door loks did not work well and were falling off. there were holes in the bottems of the doors. poor sound quality yoy could hear everything in the hall and next door March 9, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by check in Check in was very long I felt bad for the girl at the desk rooms were not ready and we waited 30 minutes for our room the girl was very nice at the desk and she kept apologizing she said she was so happy I did not yell at her I said it was not her fault I felt bad for her she was new at the job but she did a good job. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Vacation Week = Don't go My husband and I took our 2 girls (5 and 15 months) on Friday, March 1st and were hoping for a quiet, fun mini vacation since it was the week after MA school vacation. Well we were in for an unpleasant surprise when we realized it was the end of the break for NH schools so the waterpark was a complete zoo! There were no tables or chairs to be had and it was just wall to wall people. The hotel seemed very understaffed and completely surprised by the amount of guests they had since the diningroom was so slow we couldn't wait for a table and had to eat in the hotel lobby (which was a high point of the stay actually. The waiter was awesome and the food came out fast and was very good). Then night time fell and everyone came out of the wood work. Our floor was so unbelievably loud come 11:30 that it was almost unbearable. I considered packing up the kids and heading home but our 15 month old was somehow miraculously sleeping through the noise. The party next door to us didn't stop until 5:00 am! I was going to call management but didn't want to wake up my daughter. I think the stay would've been fun if it hadn't been for the vacation week chaos but beware of an aging hotel - the lobby had at least 5 buckets throughout for leaks in the ceiling. March 7, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Clean bedroom, dirty bathroom and hallways The sleeping area was very neat and clean. However the bathroom was not. The floor under the sink and behind the toilet was dirty and there was dried soap plastered on the back of the bathroom door. The hallway looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in 3-4 days. There was small pieces of trash along the edges and was generally dirty. The front desk never mentioned using the key to activate the heat. We had to ask a manager that we caught on the floor. Overall a disappointing experience. The prices were increased because of school vacation week. I would not spend that much again to stay there and probably won't stay there again. March 6, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by management issues- disorganized Waited for a long time in line to check in - an hour- only to be told my room was not ready-guarenteed check in at 4- didnt get into room till almost 7- dirty towels were still left in room- emailed manager who offered me a credit and apologized for the delay- explained the long wait and rooms not being cleaned-explained It was not a normal week for them and due to some unusual circumstances internally they were unable to provide their normal level of service- found it ironic that reviews from previous months had the same issues-my family enjoyed the water park and would love to go back- how can i be assured that we will not have the same experience?- think holiday inn corporate offices should really look into these issues-they continue to occur- had a friend arrive at the hotel the monday after school vacation and her room was given to someone else- this is terrible customer service March 4, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst hotel stay I travel for work and pleasure at least once a month and this was one of the worst stays I've ever had. It took over an hour to get checked into a room, Dinner at the hotel dinner buffet was overdone, the in hotel pool was so crowded with people jumping, spashing and yelling my daughter almost drown after an adult sized child almost landed on her. The line at breakfast for the buffet was over an hour long- yet there were more than a dozen empty tables - because the restaurant was under staffed. In addition to all that, there was a fire alarm shortly after breakfast which sent everyone out of their rooms.....and I was approached by the Valet of all people to tell me that I could go back to my room (alarm still blazing) because it was just something in the kitchen and nothing to worry about. I decided to wait until either Fire personnel advised or the alarm was turned off. While we got lots of apologies from staff, there was very little offered or done to make the situation any better. Our room was slightly discounted for the night and we got a few 5$ arcade cards. While we had fun at the waterpark on the day we checked out, I can say I will likely NEVER stay at the hotel again. On top of everything I have been trying to call the hotel all week because of of my children left their iPod behind accidentally and I have not been able to get through to the location to inquire about it. I'm going to have to drive back over there this weekend to see if it was found. March 1, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disorganized & late check-in We showed up at 3:30 pm for a "guaranteed 4pm check-in". We had 14 kids; 10 adults and 5 rooms reserved. I made the reservations 3 months in advance. Only half of the rooms were ready, the rest of us had to park our luggage in the hall and wait while the cleaning staff rushed through the remaining rooms on the floor. We finally were able to use our rooms at 5:30pm. None of the keys seem to work well after 1 or 2 uses. The waiter at the hotel restaurant got into words with a customer and it was completely unprofessional. The hotel seems understaffed in all areas. For breakfast, the host said she was the only one there and they didn't have a waitress. I will never stay here again. The water park was ok. The Danvers location was much better. Oh, and we checked out 4 days ago, and I'm still waiting for the 50% off of one night they offered me to show up in my bank account even though I paid CASH for the room. February 28, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by The room was clean, but We booked 3 nights @ this property and the common areas were not vacuumed (Same debris in the hallway) for the entire stay.It was school vacation week and children were running up and down the halls and shouting at midnight. The dinner for 5 in the Lobby Bistro took forever to arrive and when it did, only 3 meals were served - the other 2 arrived 10 minutes later. Some of the drinks never did come, and the nachos we ordered as an appetizer arrived at the end of the meal.(dessert?) When my husband went down to the Lobby @ 6:45 am the following day, our dirty dishes were still on the table we occupied (martini glass and all)! February 27, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by coco key resorts The hotel stay was nice except the fact that you can't check in till 4:00 and you have to check out at 11:00 the next mroning which made it alittle difficult to enjoy the co co keys resort which is attached and the reason we went. Overall it was not to my liking. I woud never stay or go again. February 27, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall good; water park staff not so reliable Overall, the hotel and restaurant were fine; the water park was clean and the kids had a great time. However, where the large water slides enter the pool, the staff/lifeguard on duty was very lax. I saw two children (including my son) come off the slide on the tube, and have difficulty getting enough momentum to walk toward the stairs. The undercurrent kept pulling them back toward the slide itself. In the instance of my son, I had gone down the other slide and entered the pool before him. So I stood there on the stairs and waited for him to come down the slide. When he did so, the undercurrent kept pulling him back, not permitting him to swim toward the stairs. The female lifeguard simply stood there. After about 10-15 seconds, I jumped back in and assisted him myself. She was not otherwise engaged and there was no reason she could not help my son. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by waterpark the waterpark was filthy. the water was gray....at no time during our sunday night and monday day visit did we ever see any employees cleaning the bathrooms, the tables or the floors....and we never saw any employee checking the water....with that many children the Ph should have been checked constantly....the hotel pool and hottub were just as disgusting....trash, wet towels, and gray water. I would not let my daughters in the hot tub...it looked and smelled like dirty bathwater. The food and service in the restuarant was just as bad. The hotel room was clean and the staff of the hotel seemed nice.....thats really the nicest I can be. February 25, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall O.K. We ended up staying here for our Babymoon so that we could incorporate our 11 yo daughter as well stay local so we wouldn't have to fly at this stage of pregnancy. Dinner at the Bistro was ok but do not get the pizza - bread with pasta sauce:( There was not heat in our room...2 techs came that night to fix it and told us the heat would kick in at some point but never did so hubby had to go down to front desk to complain and was finally offered a space heater which helped some. The next morning, another tech came up and said the heat hadnt worked in room for couple weeks so we have no idea what the techs the night before were trying to fix. Upon getting to our room, we discovered a stink bug under one of our pillows which housekeeping must've missed. Front desk told us that they sometimes get into rooms via windows :/ The waterpark was decent but there was not a whole lot to do there so by day, our daughter was all set but humored us the 2nd day. Arcade...the same. Overall, the stay was average and for our room travels, front desk took something off our final bill which was commendable. February 25, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room was comfortable We got there before 4 pm and were told check in is at 4 pm. No earlier. So we and many, many other people had to wait until 4 pm exactly (not a minute earlier) to then stand in a very long line to check in. I have NEVER experienced anything like that in my life. Never, anywhere, no matter where we have ever been. Room was clean and comfortable. For food it was a buffet only in the restaurant. That's it. Just the buffet and not much help from the staff at all. Food was okay buffet food at best. February 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value & staff I travel for work, and I've always enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Staff is great, and very helpful. They make you feel part of their hotel staff family. If you have children, then this is a great place since it has the water park as well. February 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Would def come back For the price this is the best value in the area. My only complaint was with the very slow unorganized breakfast staff and it was buffet! February 8, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 2nd time around This was my second stay at this Holiday Inn in a two month period. The same complaints I had the first time were still present the 2nd time, despite the fact that the management wrote back that they would try to "fix" the issues...... The room needs a "facelift". The carpet is stained (in both rooms I stayed in). The wallpaper was peeling. Then, there is the restaurant. It is TERRIBLE!!! We arrived around 9 PM on a Friday and ordered Room Service. The complete order was wrong, arrived without utensils, and cold. They re did the order and finally brought it to the room about 45 minutes later. Then, at breakfast time, the line-up was so long that we didn't even wait. The "Bistro" isn't any better and is extremely slow also. I ordered a soup "to go" and that took about 20 minutes. So, while the property is gorgeous and super convenient for the convention center, there are some improvements to be made. The staff, on the other hand, is excellent and they try very hard to please. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Weekend group trip I planned this weekend for 4 families. I called on Sunday to confirm that we were arriving early and to request early check if possible. OMG, our rooms were not even ready by 5:30. /The front desk staff told me me that they had instructed the cleaning staff to prepare our rooms asap. We finally got into one and had to have all the families together waiting. After an hour, I found 4+ cleaning people in one room down the hall and asked about our room. They said they had no instructions to clean our rooms. Finally, someone from the front came up and told them to divide up . We had 8 children in the lobby waiting for over and hour, and then waiting not in their own rooms for another hour. The main reason for the visit was the water park and the kids truly enjoyed that. We had been told kids ate free, well the detail of only with an adult meal was left out. The adults did not like the offerings, but we went down anyways, one adult ate so the kids could and the food was so not up to the Holiday Inn standards. We ate breakfast here the next morning and that was simply an ok buffet. The hotel was very nicely renovated. It was just the service was substandard. I realized when I got home I had left my daughter's pillow. I called immediately that night. The front desk said to leave a message, which I did. I never got a call back. I had to call again. Finally, I got someone who located the pillow and they returned it promptly. I was so disappointed that I had planned this for the families. The water park was great for them, so it might be best for just a day trip up and back and not to use the other amenities. You can not have kids exhausted waiting in the lobby for hours and not having honesty and execution from the staff. Totally unacceptable. January 30, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unable to check in until 6 pm with 3 small children! Although the hotel was clean and the room spacious, our stay was disappointing. After a long day of waterpark fun, we went to check in around 4:00. First of all, I waited in line for 30 minutes before finally cutting to the front where a friend who was also staying there was. She had waited in line even longer. The line formed next to the automatic doors that kept opening and filling the lobby with freezing air - not fun with small children with wet hair. When I finally spoke to someone, I was told that they did not have a room for me (or 2 of the other groups I was with). One of them got a room around 4:45. The other was around 5:30, and it took until about 6:00pm for my room to be cleaned and ready. Just picture 3 hungry, wet, tired, small children between 4:00 and 6:00 pm! Not fun. We decided to go eat dinner at the hotel's buffet while we waited. That was a huge mistake. The food was terrible and the woman running it was rude. Once we were in the room, we were happy with the decor and size. It appeared clean. My only complaint about the room itself was the pillows. They claim to offer soft and firm, but in reality they are exactly the same- awful. The waterpark was a lot of fun, but very, very crowded. I wouldn't go during a holiday weekend again. There was not even space to swim in the pool, seriously. They let way too many people in the park. We ended up swimming at the hotel pool the next day. I was impressed by the lifeguards at the waterpark who were very attentive. January 30, 2013
