Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Staff could care Less! Plain and simple. The property looked great and was in a prime location, but, the room was in need of minor repair,mildew on the shower wall, basic mattress, dirty linen, and poor service. Specifically, asked the front desk staff twice, different staff each time, about an hour apart, for pool towels. A simple request and I was very patient. Both times I was told the towels were on there way. Finally asked a 3rd time and was told, "the hotel keeps buying towels but guest keep steeling them, what do you want us to do!". Wow! Did they mean me? Is this a safe place to stay? Why tell me this... The morning breakfast buffet included in my rate was very poor and wait staff/hostess were non existent silverware and glasses were dirty. The pool was nice and the hallways and common areas were clean. The ice machine on my floor was broken and the wedding reception was a bit loud. The GM was gracious. Overall, can't recommend this property. Sorry Flint HI, but you need to get your staffs attitudes in check. August 1, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Front Desk Service - Dominique Checking in was a pleasant experience. We found Dominique provided excellent customer service and made us feel like valued guests. Unfortunately our experience coming and going from the hotel was not as pleasant as there were at least 3 people sitting on the bench in front of the hotel smoking night and day. Very unpleasant and not something I encounter at other hotels. Guests and staff don't usually smoke in front of the door. July 26, 2013

When she was finished her conversation, I was greeted with a big smile, and welcomed to the Holiday INN Flint. A very friendly and professional greeting. Room was clean, lobby was very nice. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay except for..... On arrival to the room the bedding had not been changed out (severe wrinkles in bed sheets and body fluids in multiple spots). Had to place towels to sleep on. Next day bedding was changed out and all was good. Complimentary coffe from 6-11am was hit and miss on having coffee in the air pots. Even asking for coffee on July 14 from J Porter's restaurant, who provides the coffee, resulted in no action taken. Other than those two incidences, the staff was friendly and the price was fair. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding Customer Service I was traveling from Ga to Flint, Mi and made my reservation online prior to arrival. Upon arriving at the hotel, the receptionist informed me that I was at the wrong location. She took the time to give me the correct address. I mentioned that I would like to stay at the location on Hill Rd. I was able to make the change over the phone and she checked me in immediately. She was such a breath of fresh air and went out of her way to ensure that my needs and desires were met. Keep up the great work!!! Semper Fi June 29, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Will NOT Stay Here Again!!! I was at your hotel in the past with no regrets or problems. On Tuesday, 05/14/2013 I checked in for a next day conference being held in your hotel. Upon making the initial reservation, I asked if there was a microwave and refrigerator in my room. I was told "yes there is". Upon getting into the room, my husband noticed, "no fridge". I called the front desk only to be told the opposite of what the female intake person told me and that was there is no fridge or microwave in the jacuzzi suite. Mind you I ALWAYS stay in a jacuzzi suite when away at any given hotel! When I explained my frustration, then did he agree to send one up but only after telling me that they normally cost $10. I went to get ice in the ice bucket only to my dismay to find a used tea bag in the bottom when I went to put the clear bag into the bucket! When myself and husband used the jacuzzi, there was what appeared to be a stained footprint on the jacuzzi wall????? Upon balancing my checkbook out tonite, one day after check out, there is $15 added in addition to what my husband signed at check out. I immediately called and was told that it was for "incidentals", what????? I was told it would be dropped off within 1-2 days. I again, have stayed at this Holiday Inn in the past with absolutely NO problems but this time surely made up for it!!! I feel if there is going to be a incidental charge that is going to drop off in a couple of days, I should have been notified at time of making my reservation, upon checking in, upon checking out or at least a sign in the lobby. None of the above happened!!!! I cannot say I would recc this hotel to the 340+ persons that showed up at our conference again nor would I come back for another stay, business or pleasure. This holiday Inn really has ALOT to do in order to get with the times!!!! Never have I been so frustrated and angry in a long time!!! May 16, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Best stay in Flint I always stay here when I am in Flint. I booked online and grabbed a Jacuzzi suite for a smoking deal and was impressed on the size of the room. My challenge is I go to Vegas a lot and stay in 5 star places so I am rather tainted when it comes to luxury etc. But this place is always clean, the staff is STELLAR and overall it is a great place to unwind. The shuttle driver is great and the priority club on Tuesday nights is pretty enjoyable. The restaurant for breakfast is great and I ate dinner there once and was not disappointing. Not a fan of the gym so find other places to go if you need a real workout. Again I will be back. April 24, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful stay. From the moment we checked in, the staff was very welcoming, warm and cordial. I think every employee greeted us sincerely. Our room was very comfortable, especially the beds. The restaurant food was surprisingly very good. We also appreciated the complimentary breakfast buffet, which provided several choices that were hot and quite good. Thank you for a very pleasant experience. January 30, 2013

If I were to make a recommendation for this property I would suggest an upgrade of the menu in the restaurant. Having stayed at this property several times in the last five or six years, it is kind of hit and miss whether the meal will be good or not. January 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Food and Pool We had breakfast and felt the food was not the best for the money paid. Our staff omitted a few of the items asked for and was late in getting some things to us. Also, more supervision needs to be taken in the pool area. There were some very noisy and unruly children there without parents. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel is showing it's age The bad: I have stayed at this hotel for business and pleasure many times. For pleasure I have choosen this hotel for New Year's for the poolside rooms for the past 3 yrs. ranging from having 3-6 rooms each year. Last year the pool area was looking ruggid, but this year it was unexeptable. This year we had 3 rooms for 2 nights. First of all the poolside rooms have very dirty carpet, the drapes had something red and smeared on them that I wiped off myself upon arrival. I called the front desk to ask for the tables in the pool area to be wiped and the floor cleaned because there looked to be cake crumbs all over. This was NEVER done. The next day at the pool, there was an army of ants in the area, once again I called the front desk. Someone came to "sweep" up the ants with a broom and told us that they are always there and have been for the last 20 yrs because the hotel was built on a swamp. Both times I called to have the pool area cleaned the pool area was very "dead" and other than the few in my party no one else was around. So it's not like it was a crazy busy time. The Good: The girl at the front desk at check in was wonderful, she was very friendly and pleasant both days that I saw her and needed something. J.P Porters Restraurant was very good. We ordered "togo" and took it back to our room one night and the breakfast buffet both mornings, although average was good. Conclusion: I WILL NOT be returning to this hotel neither for business or pleasure. I was very dissapointed this year, even though the poolside rooms are nice to have, I will be looking elsewhere to enjoy New Year's Eve 2013. January 7, 2013

I kept checking in and out of the hotel. I had a lot of conversations with many levels of the staff. The front desk, marvelous, the room service people, considerate and efficient ,the cleaning staff,polite, courteous and respectful. This was not my first stay at this Holiday Inn but it was one of my favorite. Many thanks to the staff from a distressed passenger made to feel comfortable and at home. January 5, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Noise problem Very noisy. Had to switch rooms at 1 am due to a loud vibration from equipment on the roof. Also heard others complained as well. The next room I was put in was near n elevator and I was kept awake all night. Otherwise a clean and acceptable hotel. However I also had a noise issue at the last three holiday inns I stayed at and will be trying another brand on my next business trip. December 9, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Consistent Property Every time I am in Flint I stay at this property. The customer service here is amazing. They know how to take care of you here. I don't know how old the property is but everything seems fresh. This time I attended a meeting here as well and the staff did a great job with their service. They have a Priority Club Happy hour that was less than stellar but the food at the hotel is great. The host of the club night did a great job. This property is one I look forward to staying at, and it is always improving. Looking forward to my next visit. My room was clean my bed was comfy and my curtains blocked out all of the lights.
