Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Last Minute Business Trip Great Value - with clean rooms and comfortable bed. March 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Business Traveler The room accomodations were good. As a business traveler, I always try to find a hotel within close proximity to my customers that have a fitness center. I know fitness centers are the achilles heal of hotel chains. My relaxation after a rough day is a good work out. Unfortunately, this hotel could maintain it's equipment better. The breakfast food service was poor. The food was great, however service seemed extremely inefficient. Even with my Platinum voucher, I would have preffered the normal HI self serve breakfast. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by average stay Pretty much an average stay, gave up on the restaurant and bar. Have stayed here many times before. Now that we have used our priority club points, ( that's a whole other story ) probably will not be back, might stay again, but definitely looking for other hotels. House keeping knocks on your door at 10:54 when check out is 12:00 noon. Mentioned this to the front desk and got the usual they need to get a head start on cleaning the vacant rooms for check in. Hotel was pretty much empty, maybe 12 cars in the parking lot and that included staff. Wasn't bad but sure could have been better. January 3, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent place to stay As an experienced traveler, great service on the road is always appreciated. The staff in Florence is first class. Always very helpful during check in and explaining the perks of being a platinum member. A follow up call to ensure that almost all needs are satisfied is a nice touch. The rooms are clean and quiet. Recommend this hotel to anyone stopping by in the area. December 18, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and great service. Good experience. This was the last stop on our trip north before getting home. The need for an attached restaurant was a consideration for this stop because after driving "forever", I just didn't want to drive anymore to eat. Room, food and atmosphere were just the environment needed to relax. December 7, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kem's restaurant in Hotel Cook did not know how to properly make or chose not to make dinner items on menu as recipe calls for. It either reflects a lack of skill or training or worse bad attitude. Not only was dinner not prepared correctly it wasn't even warm. I rarely eat in the hotel provided restaurant but I had enough of being in the car that day and in the past when I've eatin' at Kem's restaurant I've always had good meals. When presented with my meal this night I could tell by sight it wasn't correctly made but I tried a bite of it anyway as I was hungry. My eyes didn't lie. It was disgusting and I sent it back, left the hotel restuarant, got back into my car and went got fast food. Not the way I wanted to spend the end of my work day. December 3, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This was a Nice choice. The staff meet you with a friendly and warm greeting. The accommodations comfortable and clean. There was a problem at breakfast (that I created - I had to leave before it was ready), they made a fresh breakfast for me when I returned. This is what I call SERVICE!! November 26, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room The hotel room was very comfortable, and quiet. We used the restaurant, and were very disapointed. The pasta dish I was served was inedible. It was served cold, and very greasy. It was left uneaten. My companion ordered the special of the day (brisket sandwich). It too was very greasy, and had a number of small bones in the sandwich. To his credit, the waiter did not charge me for my meal. I would not patronize this restaurant again. The lobby appeared incomplete in its furnishing. It was very cavernous and not inviting or welcoming. As we departed about 7 AM, we sampled the complimentary coffee set up in the lobby. There was only powdered creamer offtered. The coffee was terrible. We both poured out the coffee and did not drink it. I usually stay at Hampton or Homewood Suites and think I will stay with their hotels in future. November 10, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not a bad stay but it could have been better... We use this destination as a weekend retreat. At the registration counter we inquired about how to use pririty club points. Staff became defensive, and were not sure how many points it took at this location for a free night. We were instructed to call priority club and discuss it with them. We went straight to our room and called priority club from the room. My concern was that I had plenty of points for a free night hence I wanted to use the free night instead of paying with a credit card. The male agent at priority club informed me because I had already paid for the room their was nothing that could be done. So much for redeeming your points "Anywhere Anytime". All this happened within 20 minutes after check in. Room was on the same floor with other people with little children who let them run the halls, loud music, and yelling between rooms. The staff did handle this situation after we had called the room and management ourselves. Staff did give us a coupon for breakfast as a result. Breakfast was not up to standards, pancakes were doughy, inedible even the second round.I wanted an omelette with a short stack of pancakes, orange juice and coffee. Waitress was nice but said I would half to order two main dishes to do that. Expensive breakfast for one person could not eat half of it. Food should be cheaper, more flexible for sides, of at least of better quality. Emailed priority club later, was told that club reward rooms are not always available it depends on the location. Parking lot was vacant. This hotel did not appear to be a quarter full at the time, so much for Anywhere Anytime. October 18, 2012
