Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by oresteia Worn accommodations but outstanding view & staff
When I checked in, I discovered that a reservation I had cancelled was not cancelled in their system. I was off-put but the woman at the front desk took care of everything. When she found out that my husband would be joining me for a romantic evening the next night (without the kids), she upgraded me to a king suite with a jacuzzi tub in the room and a view of the fountain! I was thrilled. My only complaints are minor: 1) the carpets are stained and worn. Sections, such as between the bath and the hallway, are almost totally threadbare; and 2) the fridge was really loud. I pulled it out from it's cabinet and after a few minutes, it cooled down and then was quiet. As soon as I returned it to its spot, it got loud again. I left it out of its cubby when I slept so it wouldn't disturb me. Great location and great price. Just don't eat at the All-American Bar & Grill down the road. It was one of the worst dining experiences of my life. We should have stayed for dinner at Fireside in the hotel.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Orat Great personal service
I have been staying in this hotel for the past 12 years, twice a year. The service is always great. Solving any personal problem that I have with a smile. The location is beautiful and convenient. I always enjoy my stay. At one time there was a mistake in the booking, the manager alerted me and corrected it to my satisfaction.

If you need extra towels or pillows, don't expect any customer service by having them brought to you, you have to go get them yourself. I guess I will just tip myself!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bill75xyz Everything we need in a short stay when going to the Mayo Clinic
We like the firm king bed, the practical bedding, the microwave, fridge, and two comfortable chairs with a side table for TV watching. This location is also really pretty, practical and very close to the Mayo Clinc. The Mayo Hospital via Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd is also easy to get to. And a really low price in the off season. No complaints.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by yorkie48 Great Surroundings in nice area
Had originally booked in downtown Scottsdale, but changed to Fountain Hills and saved nearly $100. It is about 17 miles north of Scottsdale but as we had a car and were only using it as a one night stopover on our way from Gallup, NM to San it was perfect. Check in was seamless and we were given a two Queen Bed Suite that was very large with separate bedroom and lounge kitchen area. Two TV's in separate rooms are always great so my daughter could watch her programs in peace. Usual things in room like Microwave, Fridge Freezer, Coffee Maker and Iron.
The Pool area was nice a quiet and the Jacuzzi nice and warm. Complimentary Newspaper at your door in the morning. Breakfast is available at $4.95, but as we had a long drive ahead decided to skip it. There is a great restaurant opposite the Euro Pizza Café (see my separate review) that is much more than it sounds and we had a great meal and cocktails whilst overlooking the lake and the fountain. If in the area again will definitely return to this hotel

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Auli Slept well in comfortable beds, excellent duvets, just the right weight for the climate.
Very comfortable hotel and spacious rooms. The furnishings very in good order, but bathroom towels could be whiter. I would like to see washable floors, rather than carpets. Our room carpet was still very dirty, like last year, so maybe a different floor covering would be easier to keep clean. Otherwise a very good hotel.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by SadMort Room mechanical problems ruined stay
The bedroom bench legs needed repair. The living room AC didn't work and we were told they've known about a necessary repair for months but have done nothing about it. Even worse, the toilet flooded the bathroom floor and needed a plumber to repair. We were offered a different room but were loath to have to repack and move. We appreciate the $20 credit we were given but that, of course, couldn't erase our memory of the unpleasant stay, which negatively affected all our evaluations. Finally, my wife said the carpet needed cleaning. The room rate was low but the problems negated the apparent value. We prefer to pay a competitive rate and get fully functional and enjoyable accommodations.

Everything was great at this facility. The staff was extremely helpful and the room was large, clean, and cool. The food at the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. There is also a beautiful park across the street with a lake and the famous fountain, and lots of restaurants and shops nearby. I was being treated at the Mayo Clinic, which is an easy and quick drive from the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be staying there again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wena76 Amazing and relaxing area
I stayed 5 nights at this hotel. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The surrounding area was relaxing and right across the street from an amazing park with the tallest fountain in the world! There were ducks, a play area for the kids and a small water area to cool off the kids. I would DEFINITELY stay there again. It was 5 minutes from Mayo Clinic and very convenient for the hospital. Very nice hotel for the price.
One thing that they could improve on is to add a SMILE when serving the guest! I missed that with ALL attendants!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MaryTX Nice hotel but rooms need some attention
Holiday Inn Fountain Hills is a nice hotel in a good location, but our room needed some TLC. The carpet was worn and dirty, the shower curtain smelled liked mildew, and the bathtub faucet dripped.
I would stay at this hotel again because of the fantastic rates during the summer, but my tip to the management is to take care of the "little things" in the rooms.

My business partner and I have had the opportunity to stay at this facility in Fountain Hills three or four times in the past few weeks. The staff is very pleasant and willing to assist with whatever your needs are. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We asked for a specific location in the hotel and it was granted.
We have not eaten at the restaurant within the hotel so I cannot rate the food. However, would like to suggest that the beverages behind the counter for sale, that are in a cooler should be cooled. I purchased two sodas and both were hot.....but there is an ice machine. Really we have no complaints. The pool area is always clean.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beemanator Unexpectedly inexpensive
I've stayed here three time now. This weeks stay was the first time that I didn't get a "fountain view" room. I've stayed in rooms at three and four time the cost, with nothing any nicer than what enjoyed here. The staff is accommodating, helpful and eager to please. The rooms smell fresh and clean without deodorizers or artificial scents. All of the room amenities were working and clean. The internet connection was accessible but slower than my personal access device. All in all this is the place to stay while in the area. Its farther away from the main street; "Shea Blvd". and casino area then some may like, but its not an issue for my reason to be in the area.

If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, this is the perfect getaway. This is a new hotel that offers entertainment (pool, spa) for the family and accomodations for the working person (internet). This hotel oversees Fountain Lake, which has a shooting Geiser every hour. It's spectacular and adds to your signtseeing adventure. I would highly recommend this place.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by melissa25 Not at all up to Holiday Inn Standards
The location of the hotel was great, but it was very hard to find. When we first pulled up there was very little parking at the front to check in, the cars that were parked there were there all evening and again the next morning. Maybe employees cars ? Check in was easy, but we wereggiven our room keys and that's it. We weren't told about the on site amenities, or the restaurant that's on site. The hotel was right next to a local attraction, the fountain, the clerk didn't offer any information on the local area. We were walking up to our room and it was pretty hot in the hall ways. We got to our room put our stuff down and then we started to notice all the problems. There was a big stain on the carpet, the bathroom looked like it hadn't been clean, and the room hadn't been dusted. After settling in I went down stairs and asked for additional towels, it felt like I was inconveniencing her. All in all I was not impressed, thus hotel was not up to Holiday Inn standards. We were in fountain hills , to bring my mother to Mayo clinic and wanted a nice place to go to after all the tests and stress for the day. I didn't talk to the hotel management , after the ordeal with the towels I felt like it wouldn't make a difference, and they probably would have just offered us a different room and my mom was already asleep and in pain from the tests. We go to Mayo clinic every year, and I will not be staying there next year.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 2Bulldogs Won't stay anywhere else when we visit, best staff ever!!
When I think of this hotel two things come to mind. One-the staff and two-Comfort!! Gary and his staff ALWAYS make us feel like we come home instead of a hotel, there isn't a time where if someone asks me where to stay when they come to Fountain Hills that I don't say Holiday Inn!! Great rooms, very clean and spacious. Extremely dog friendly and that's the most important for our family!! I cannot express enough how special they make us feel everytime we visit. I'll say it over and over again Gary, Gary, Gary!!! He is the reason we keep coming back and the reason this place is so awesome!!!

The property is clean and well maintained. The housing staff really does their job! You can tell the rooms have been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
We have stayed here many times over the last few years and have found the staff to be attentive and caring.
If you're going to stay in Fountain Hills THIS is the spot! The hotel...the view... the convenience...the hospitality...the price! You just can't go wrong at this Holiday Inn!
