I felt the room was a bit overpriced. But since there are only two hotels in Fountain Hills, I guess that's to be expected. The front desk staff was very helpful but not overly friendly. The housekeeper was terrific, as was the waiter in the dining room! Would I stay here again? Maybe. But I may just try the competition!

Its my 3rd time staying in the hotel before it was me and my husband but he passed away last month so I went with some of my friends and had a fantastic stay, the hotel is right across the Fountain and we had fun taking pictures. Also went to Fort Mcdowell Casino and she won it paids for our dinner.

You could hear the conversations of your neighbors while in your room. The wireless internet would kick you off and you would have to log back in which played havoc with entering data on my business server or when browsing the news services. On the second night after 11PM, I attempted to contact the front desk for a wakeup call and it was not answered. I did try the restaurant attached to the hotel. I had intended to sit and dine but the hostess did not notice me. The bar tender had to approach me and I just made my order to go. The restaurant was stuffy and hot though I only experienced the restaurant from the seated entrance.
The rooms were comfortable and clean. Housekeeping did an excellent job and honored my note requesting no tuck on the bed. The hotel was next to local dining and there was a park that you could walk around which was adjacent to the hotel. The hotel was approximately 20 minutes from Mesa and 25 minutes from Scottsdale when not dealing with rush hour traffic.
The price was balanced against the negative aspects.

Clean and comfortable, food is good, Sit outside and enjoy the 150' fountain spraying water into the air. great area to walk. See Luis in the restaurant. Great places across the street hair, spa, food, gifts and more. Gary is the manager he will take care of you.

Hotel Staff and Service and room were absolutely great.
The Fireside Grill was terrible, I ordered their Signature Burger that that was tasteless, over done when I ordered Med Rare, bacon was tasteless and like cardboard.
My wife ordered the Prime Rib Dip again tasteless. The food wasn't seasoned at all which accounted for the lack of taste but worst yet the appetizer Crab Cakes was 2 commercial store brands, out of a box tasteless hockey pucks on about a tablespoons of cabbage.
This cost me $40.00 and WE would have been more satisfied with 2 Famous Star meals from Carl's JR for around $10.00

Carpet needs cleaning or replaced. Tub drain had caulk all Over it.Area back in corner from pool was cluttered & messy. Had a ribeye in Resturant, was pleasantly surprised how good it was. Breakfast was Excellent also. Good Bar, Bartender was excellent. Front Deak did a very good job also.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn near PHX airport, they gave PC members a free breakfast and 1 free cocktail every day during my stay. I usually go out of my way to stay at IHG properties and is nice to be recognized with these little benefits. Just a suggestion. Stay was nice.

We got an incredible deal on this hotel using reward points, getting three nights for what it would normally cost for one. Room was clean and comfortable, location was great, but we could hear the people in the room next to us just talking. If you,re getting a good price I would recommend taking it.

Loved and enjoyed my stay there, staff was awesome! Although almost killed myself "literally" on the treadmill as there's stiffness beneath the belt. Told one gal in the front and her expression was "and....what do you want me to do about it". She really had no concern whatsoever. Looked at me like she was bored. Both treadmills are like that and there is a maintenance light that flashes, guess I should have took it seriously. Would make a perfect Hotel if all things were working in order!

as a airline employee i reserved this hotel especially due to the fact it was very close to mayo clinic. i was very unhappy with all the difficulties i had during my stay which i expressed to the manager and wrote a complaint to customer care. based on my stay i would not recommend this hotel until changes were made for future stays.

I stayed at this Hliday Inn for three nights while visiting friends in Fountain Hills and Scottsdale. It was my first visit to this Holiday Inn. I found the rooms to be clean and comfortable... I was out with my friends most of the day and evening, but I did manage to eat one lunch in the restaurant The food was quite good, and the service was friendly, prompt and efficient..
This appears to be a somewhat older prperty, and they were in the process of doing some renovation work. When I first checkeed into my room, there seemed to be a lot of "construction noise" next door. However, this was in the middle of the day. The rest of my stay was very quiet....
I cannot find fault with any part of my stay at this Holiday Inn - and would likely stay there again if I'm in the area.

We stayed two nights in a suite. We inspected two suites before making our selection. In both suites the furniture was damaged.... missing veneer on the tables, etc. The carpets in the rooms were dirty and stained, and trim on lamp shades loose and hanging. The hallway carpets were very dirty and even carpet at the hotel entrance was dirty and appeared not to have been cleaned during our stay. There was work being done in the hotel at the time but the issues we noted were unrelated to this work. There appears to be a general need for closer supervision of the housekeeping staff since these issues occurred throughout the entire hotel. We have stayed in Holiday Inns throughout North America and Europe and were platinium priority club members for 10 + years. The general condiiton and cleanliness of this hotel is among the worst of any Holiday Inn we have stayed in and definitely below their usually high standard. This is real shame considering the excellent location of the hotel.

OK place, but in state of remodeling parts due to age.
Nice location across from park and fountain/memorial.
Eat somewhere else as food was poorly prepared.
Breakfast is not included.
Nice to have laundry facilities, pay to use.
Night desk person was very friendly and helpful for check in.

During a recent stay at your hotel, I was pleasantly surprised and also disappointed. My room was very clean, modern and spacious, but getting to my room was another matter. There was a very bad odor which smelled like pluming problems when I first exited the elevator in the 2nd floor and walked to my room. The carpets in the hall way looked soiled too.

We have stayed at this location 4 or 5 times over the past 4 years and have noticed the property is getting run down. On our most recent visit we noticed that the hallways needed to be painted . The rooms are badly in need of a remodel. The carpets and furniture in our suite were very outdated and did not appear to be very clean. The odor problem coming from the fountain/sewer appears to have been taken care of as it was not noticable on our recent stay. This property is way below the bar set by other Holiday Inns. Unless this property is renovated we probably will not be staying here in the future.

When we first arrived and proceeded to our room, we began to notice a smell that worsened as we went further down the hall toward our room. It was explained later that it was sewer back up that the Fountain Hills Fountain caused from time to time. The stench remained for the length of our stay. Fortunately it did not extend to our room. However, we made every effort not to drink the water from the hotel or area restaurants. I am appalled that the full fee was charged for the room with such a glaring and "hard to miss" issue.

We stay at this Holiday Inn because it is in Fountain Hills where our daughter's family lives and we are Priority Members.
We have started to see a decline in the care of the facility, halls, rooms, etc. Our room had cola sprayed on the ceiling. The Fireside personal is friendly and remember us, the food is OK, but it too needs a facelift. It could be better. Our room was not serviced the second day we were there. When we called for service, the maid service had gone home. MLV

Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was a nasty smell in the hallway on the way to the room. We couldn't tell if it was human or animal feces, but we were so glad it didn't permeate our room.

The location and apperance were fine. The downside to our visit was the musty smell in the halls and in our room. We actually purchased a air freashner for our room so we could sleep. Maybe next time things will be better.

We have stayed at this particular Holiday Inn several times in the past 4 years and have always noticed how clean and fresh the rooms have been. Not this time. The rugs were soiled, the toilet was missing a lid attachment, the bathroom wall paper was peeling and stained, the towels, though clean, were dingy, and the accent "throws" at the foot of the beds were wrinkled and tired looking. There were signs of a wear and tear on the baseboards and furniture. We wondered if the ground floor ( where our room was) was most often used by guests with pets and therefore cause for the overall worn out appearance. I think Holiday Inn can do better with a little attention to detail.

The carpets in the hallways were extremely dirty. The restaurant food was poor. Hotel has not been maintained well. Shower did not work properly. I stay in several Holiday Inns across the country - this by far is the worst I have ever seen.

The room was comfortable, staff was personable and helpful. The restaurant on property had great food, and room service is available. The location was close to all kinds of shops, services and restaurants. Fountain Hills is a beautiful area.

I was here a year ago and it was good, now its going south. Carpets on 3rd floor were dirty, walls needed painting, our door wouldn't close and lock, until about the 3rd time, the tiles in the bathroom would move, the calking was falling out. And everytime I went to the front desk, no one was there, so I had to wait 3-4 mintes, and the lady at the desk in the evening was really rude. Next time I will find somewhere else.

We have always stayed here for a running event each year, but this year it seems like the quality of the room and service has gone downhill. While the lobby looks really nice and is well-kept, once we got to the second floor, I noticed the hallway carpets looking dingy and several spackle spots on the walls but it looks like the work on those walls had been on hold for a while. When we got to our room, we noticed huge stains on the carpet. We have a 1 yr old son who luckily walks well so we decided to not request a room change. I would have been really concerned if he were still crawling. It was just disheartening to see that there was no effort made to at least make the stains better with a good carpet clean.
There was also visible dust on the dresser and I even came across a fish oil vitamin on the floor (thankfully my son didn't find it first and ingest it). The coffee maker worked but the light didn't turn out to let you know it was actually working. What was nice was the microwave and fridge -- those were really helpful with being able to store milk and other food items.
As far as service, the first day that we got our room cleaned we only got one bath towel (we originally had 4). Later in the evening I had to pack up my 1 yr old son and head downstairs to pick up additional towels. This was an inconvenience that could have been easily avoided. Instead of "I'm sorry, here are your towels" from the front desk person, I got excuses on why it happens "Oh, we got slammed with a lot of check-ins today." Really? I honestly think it's unacceptable to respond like that.
I don't think we'll be staying here again, unfortunately.

We recently visited Scottsdale area and stayed at the Fountain Hills location. It is a very nice area. Hotel and rooms were nice and clean. Guest services - very helpful. Would stay there again. Room rates were very affordable. Thank you!
