Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Uncomfortable night. I was disappointed that the air conditioning did not work and staf did very little to accomodate. I received a small fan. Staff did not offer complementary items for the inconvience. I will not recommend this location. May 28, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Sleeping in my car would have been more comfortable. I was traveling on business, and ended up in Fresno. I saw the Holiday Inn logo and thought it would mean a quality full service hotel at a reasonable price, as it always has before. I called central reservation, and booked for the night. I was told that, since it was after 6 p.m., I would be locked in to the room and I would be charged for the night no matter what. A minute later, I walked into the hotel. When I checked in, they told me the air conditioning was out and that "they are working on it." I was told they could put fans in my room, if need be, but it might be repaired shortly. I went out to dinner. I came back. The AC was still not working, and I was told again that "they are working on it." I got to my room and found out it was 90 degrees. I called to have the window opened, and to ask for a fan. An hour and a half later, I had to call again. Finally, with the fan and the window open, the temperature in the room got to about 85 and I was able to sleep for an hour or two. I could not wait to get out of there. The next morning, the new person at the front desk finally revealed the truth--that the AC had been out since four days before. It would not be repaired for six more days, because they were waiting for delivery of a part. The central reservation line should never have booked a person into this hotel that whole week. They should never have held me to the "locked in your reservation after 6 p.m." provision. And they should have been honest when I checked in that the AC could not be repaired and they should have given me the option to leave at no charge. This was one of the worst nights I have ever spent in a hotel. It calls into question the integrity of this whole Fresno operation. Corporate Holiday Inn has a piece of this for scheduling people into this place under these conditions. May 20, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No cooling and service I was scheduled to stay 4 days and pulled out after two. I am a platium IHG stayer and after numerous attempts to get soem service in regards to the room being too hot, and no compliance I left. The room was nice, the service and food at restaurant was good and this would have been a pleasnat experience had the room not been over 80 degrees all the time and there was attempts to repair and we were even moved to an alternate room but it was apparent after speaking to staff upon checkout that the staff was aware of the non cooling/ ventilation problem and the elevators not woorking but just lied about it. I aksed what they were going to do about and they just shrugged as if we hadnt spoken. The property needs to be remodeled in regards to the air conditioning / elevators and would be a nice property. Also it needs to be noted that perosns coming here do not need to go outside especially after dark due to the heavy presense of homeless and transiet persons. May 7, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Buffet breakfast rocks We take frequent weekend getaways and had never explored Fresno. We also came to see an Elvis tribute artist playing at the hotel. Yes, there are issues with homeless outside the hotel, but the key swipe at the side door was functional and the entrances were secure. The parking gargage could use a major cleaning. Saw a city worker power washing the ramp into the garage and the hotel should take a hint and complete the job within their property. The servers seems overwhelmed at times with tour groups to the point where diners were getting up to serve themselves coffee, but the breakfast was an outstanding value with fresh berries, many cereas, Tropicana OJ was great and typical hot items. Evening soup and salad bar was also excellent (only $7.95) Our room #322 overlooked a major bus stop and we couldn't really enjoy our balcony, but not every view can be a scenic vista. I would have liked to use the stairs to access my 3rd floor room instead of waiting for the elevvators, but I suppose this is a security policy to better monitor people in the hotel. April 26, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall great value and room, but our a/c was broken I would have given five stars but our a/c was broken. They tried to fix it but were unable and ended up bringing us a fan, other than that it was a great hotel with great service. April 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value - Easy Access Very friendly and helpful front desk and dining staff. Efficient, quick and courteous! Quiet comfortable room and very comfortable beds. Located a short distance off of the highway it is easy to get to this property and then get back onto the highway for business or pleasure. Third or fourth stay at this property over the years and they haven't failed me yet. April 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great value, nice property We really enjoyed your property for the third time now, well done again! April 9, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Scared in Fresno! The location I would not recommend, very scary, surrounded by homeless people camping out across the street at City Hall! Loud at night with drunks walking the streets, no where to walk to to eat besides the Holiday Inn and the Casino next door, everything closes at 5pm downtown. I did not feel safe at this location, most of the staff was friendley and helpful, beds were comfortable,A/C not working in some rooms, business office out of order, etc.! March 31, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Overall Comments Overall very poor experience. Parking is in underground garage and it was always creepy, especially at night. The hotel needs a security guard presence, otherwise street walkers and anyone else wonders around and it is "creepy" and "unsafe". The first room they tried to put me in was not acceptable. It was down a short hall immediately near the soda machines and ice dispenser. This was very unsafe and unacceptable location. They did move me to another room. The new room had the heat stuck on and multiple times all we got from the desk was, it takes three hours to cool off. So five hours later we requested maintenance look at the stuck heat. They spent time and unstuck the vent and then at least we had cooler air circulation. The also delivered a fan immediately so that tells you they know they have a problem. But this hotel knows they have a heating/cooling problem because I saw that type of write up in the past, but they don't seem to fix the problem. Housekeeping did not deliver extra towels as we only had two to begin with and they never did get us more towels. Not good when you have to shower multiple times in a day. Lastly, their so called business office had two computers and one did not work and the printer failed to print. Because creepy people can wander in from the basement garage and go up and down the elevator this hotel has a very unsafe feel and I was watching my back at all times. I recommend you do not stay here. March 18, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by thermostat not working; loud party; ice machines not working; garage smells like urine thermostat not working - was 70 when we arrived; tried for 5 hours to get room warm; called mtce and received service; for next day, night and day the room was 82 and the thermostat did not respond; we did not ask for mtce again as we were fed up with the problem loud party - there was a party with speaker systems and amps somewhere in the main part of the hotel; we saw the equipment offloaded at about 8pm; loud music until about 11:30pm we could hear in our room 728; no signs posted informing of noise; fed up and did not call mgmt ice machines not working - 7th floor machine has sign that says go to 8th or 5th floor; went to 8th floor and machin not working; real hassle waiting for elevator to go up then down; garage smells like urine - powerful urine smell; garage looks like scene out of a zombie movie March 13, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Large rooms but poor maintenance I stayed at this Holiday Inn for two nights on a business trip. There were a number of problems during my stay. While the room was large, it was not very clean, the air conditioning did not work, housekeeping did not leave towels after the first day, there was no clock in the room, only one bar of soap in the bathroom, and no one in the hotel could change a $5 bill so I could tip the bartender. They attempted to fix these issues with moderate success. They never did correct the air conditioning issue-- it is central air and this was during late Feb., so I can't imagine what it would be like in the summer! Can't recommend this property. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The only place to stay in Fresno I stay here every time I go to visit family in Fresno. Always spotlessly clean, friendly and efficient front desk, comfortable rooms, everything I like. Wouldn't go anywhere else. March 2, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Old, Run Down, needs repaired badly I have been forced to stay at this hotel many times over the last few years. Although the rooms are clean and nice sized there isn't much else redeeming about this property. It is located in a very rough area in Downtown Fresno. There is absolutely Zero way to cool your room to a reasonable temperature. I hope you like 74-78 degrees. The staff and owner lies to you about if the heating/air system works and it is a joke among the staff as everyone knows it doesn't work. The bar and restaurant are understaffed or not staffed almost always and getting breakfast timely in the morning is near impossible. Honestly I could not recommend this hotel to anyone as my experiences have always been extremely poor compared to other Holiday Inn properties that I frequently visit. February 21, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not what was expected I have traveled all over the country and, as a Gold Member, this was probably the worst experience I have had with any of the IHG hotels. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. The food was typical of IHG hotels, although the eggs I had, one breakfast, were prepared poorly. However, the room, located street side, was very noisy and did not block much of the sound coming from outside. The bathroom, while typical for a hotel, had almost no water pressure. I had a wheelchair accessible room and did expect to bend down a bit for the shower, as I'm over 6 foot, but the fact that the water was mostly dribbling out of the shower had caused a normal 8 minute shower to take almost 20. The sink was better but not by much. I did mention this to the front desk staff and they immediately sent someone up but it was unresolved. If I were to travel back to that area I would most likely not visit this hotel again. February 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quarterly meeting This property is always a pleasant experience. Everyone from the owner to the housekeeping staff works hard to make their guests comfortable. Café 1055 does an excellent job of making sure the guests are well fed and taken care of. February 12, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Uncomfortable When we arrived to the room it was very stuffy. We tried to use the air but it did not work. We had to open the window to which brought in all the noise from the bus stop located right outside. We called the front desk and was told they would look into. Fortunately we were only there for one night. By the time we left the AC unit was still not working. February 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent staff We were treated as friends and well-served during the entire stay. February 2, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff! I've been staying at this hotel for a number of years, and they've really bent over backwards to make their guests feel like they are among friends. I'm looking forward to going there again! February 1, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor service air conditionor was not working Called front desk for the help about up stair knocking their floor, but no one came to check the noise and the situation in 1 and half hours... January 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Great Place to Stay while in Fresno This Hotel is a great place to stay while in Fresno. It is close to all things you need to do or want to do in Fresno with a lovely view of the park across the street. It is close to the convention center and some great restaurants. It also has a casino next door if you like to do a little gambling before hitting the hay. We have stayed here twice now and both times the rooms were quite and clean. December 4, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Business Overall it was a good stay at this hotel. I did have trouble with the door lock but a very nice young lady (Becca) at the front desk was very helpful. It is employees like her that make me come back to Holiday Inn. November 23, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room and Comfort The room was clean and the service was very good. the heating system would not work, the room never went beyond 67. November 2, 2012

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not stay here! Seriously do not stay here! I am a loyal Holiday Inn customer and understand some might be better than others for one reason or another. I am also a pretty forgiving traveler. With that said, I would sleep in my car before staying here again. The air condition did not work. I was not aware of this until I got to my room. I called the front desk to find out not only did it not work but this has been a ongoing problem. The wi-fi was not available. I was told becuase of the number of guest in the hotel that it was over loaded. The bar and resturant are not very good. The food was cold and terrible. Overall the hotel is old, dirty, and the rooms are no better. I have not been in a hotel that was such a disappointment on every level before. Th worst part is the staff is no better. They seem to have settled on the level of the hotel and act like this is what you get. October 31, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Never attend this hotel There are some factors that can't be controlled like a bad neighborhood. I had requested during my reservation an early check in. Had to wait three hours before getting a room. The air conditioning was not working in the room/hotel. I had to call 5 times to get a real answer. The food was not good at all. I was super disappointed at this Holiday Inn. I checked out early and went to another Holiday Inn he following day. October 22, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This is a Holiday Inn??? I would be embarassed to recommend this hotel to a friend or family member. The internet connection in my room was lousy. The air conditioning did not work. When I called front desk, they said they would send a maintenance man up to my room to look at it. I called back down every 15 - 20 minutes and got the same answer. He never did come to my room. All in all this stay was the type of stay I would expect from a one star Hotel. I expect better from Holiday Inn. October 21, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel, terrible neighborhood While this hotel has clearly been recently remodeled, it is clear that neighborhood surrounding it has not. There are no restaurants within walking distance and the majority of what you can see from the hotel is either people coming in and out of the adjoining casino, folks doing "business" in the back alley, or a continual parade of homeless people circling the hotel. I was attending a conference at the Radison and was told by the front desk that it was a short block and a half walk away. Unfortunately, it was more like 4 1/2 blocks through a very sketchy neighborhood (and this was at 8:30 in the morning!). This was my first visit to Fresno, but I have to imagine that there are nicer areas to stay than the clearly severly economically depressed downtown area. October 17, 2012
