The breakfast was inconsistent and so was the staff. The pancakes were great.
If you like to relax the whirlpool is great. The view was wonderful.
We enjoyed our stay during the snow.

We have stayed in this hotel twice in the past 10 months. It is a good place to stay if you need to go down the valley in the morning while avoiding the early morning traffic in the Washington area. We drove out in the afternoon and had time to relax before going to the restaurant for a nice, quiet dinner. The first time, our grandson had time to play the golf course next door and our granddaughter enjoyed the pool. This time, it was just two of us and we knew we would get a good night's sleep at this hotel.

Basically lived at the here for 7 weeks. Reception desk staff were excellent, professional, always willing to help, and friendly.
Rooms were clean, comfortable. Cleaning staff was not consistent in room cleaning. Sometimes they'd vacuum, other times not. At times they'd forget to leave/replace toilet paper, or clean around the sink beneath the microwave. I'd have the room cleaned usually on a Friday, sometimes Monday. This aside, they cleaned but could've gone the extra mile to notice the details.
Houlihans was GREAT! Bartender Amy is the best!! Waitress/Bartender Tanya is awesome! Both are professionals and a pleasure to be around. Food is incredible and I never had a bad meal. Beers were good too! I ate dinner and lunch at the pub side. Breakfasts were also very good, although there were a couple waitresses on the sit down side of the restaurant on weekends that worked mornings who really didn't seem to enjoy their job. So different from most of the other staff. Hostess was also very nice and professional.
At times there were "room service" dishes and trays left in the hall for over a day or two before being picked up.
Really a great place to stay and eat. I would recommend this Holiday Inn and Houlihans to anyone!

When I arrived at the hotel I was told that parts were under renovation and my request for a King Bedroom far from vending machines might not be able to be met. I was momentarily unhappy however I was immediately put at ease when the desk clerk told me since I was a Priority Club member she was going to upgrade me to a King Suite!
The room was more than comfortable and I had a great restful night.

From our good first impression in June, my son & his fiancee & both sets of parents booked this location for group reservations for their wedding the weekend of Nov. 17. We then booked the rehearsal dinner here for about 50 guests. A few weeks later, I called to see what arrangements could be made for early arrivals or attempts to book families near each other. The sales manager very rudely told me that guests make reservations for the night before if they needed to dress for the wedding & that it was difficult to arrange rooms together. I was issued a group code that I was later told was incorrect. They did not take reservations at that location & the online & 800 number reservations did not accept the group code or family name. I spent numerous phone calls to correct the group rate for our guests. Our contacts promoted a hospitality room with 20 or more reservations. I called to ask about once a week the number of reservations in our group & was told they could not tell. Tuesday, Nov. 13, before we were to arrive on the 15th, we received an email informing us that thle room was no longer available. We tried to straighten things out & had 3 difficult phone conversations with the general manager who never appeared once during the 4 days that we were there. The GM & several staff told us several times, that they cater to their government contracts even though they are promoting a special events location. These are some of the key difficult situations; there were quite a few others.
Both our family & the bride's family were disappointed, insulted & angry that our happy wedding weekend would be spoiled by inept, insulting, & inexcusalble behaviour. We had expected to introduce our prospective inlaws from NJ and PA to southern hospitality which did not happen.

Great Location for people who love to search for Wineries. The staff was very knowledgable about a few of the Plantations. There directions were great and the selection of brochures for that area was very nice. There is a lot to see and do.
The rooms were clean and hotel was quiet.

This hotel worked out well for us as a stop over on our motorcycle trip to Skyline Drive. We especially enjoyed Houlihan's Restaurant. The food and service were very good, prices were reasonable. The hotel was also convenient to gas stations and other restaurants. The room was spacious and comfortable but could have been a little cleaner.

Our stay in Front Royal was a result of a family wedding. We found the accomodations clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful.
The only area we felt in need of improvement was the attached restaurant. We tried it for breakfast one morning and found the food to be marginal and the service slow.

Irecentlly stayed at the hotel on a business trip and found the staff both in the hotel and restaurant to be friendly and helpful. The amenities , pool and fitness room were adequate and the bar had a good selection of beers. The food was fresh and hot and delivered with a smile. All in all a very plesant stay.

The lack of a safe in our room, stops me giving this 5* overall. This is disappointing for a new hotel of this caliber. Lovely, comfortable room, overlooking the golf course, was very quiet.
Well located for a fast drive to both the Skyline Drive and Dulles Airport.
Staff were friendly and efficient. As a Priority club member we asked, and were given, a late checkout. This enabled us to change and freshen up before departing for our flight home.
We dined at Houlihan's restaurant and were pleased not to have the normal huge portions, although it was usual american food. We even had room to share the trio of puddings, which was a first for our holiday.

After a long week and a drive from Michigan, we spent the night at the Holiday Inn in Front Royal. We did not have a reservation, but the customer service rep at the front desk was pleasant and inviting and saw to it that we had a great room and all the amenities to make our overnight stay pleasant.

Our stay was extremely convenient and comfortable. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our room exceeded our expectations and the bed was at least as comfortable as the ones we experience at a significantly higher priced luxury chain. The service and food in the attached restaurant was very good.
Overall we were pleasantly surprised by the experience and would defiantly recommend this property to my friends and business acquaintances. (I spend over 200 nights a year at various hotels domestically and in Europe. I know my hotels)

We had a great stay. Are room was wonderful. We had a king suite. There was plenty of room for us. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast that came with the room was yummy. Are whole experience was great. We will be back!

This is a nice clean hotel close to the northern entrance to Shenandoah National Park. My wife and I used it as a starting point for our hiking adventure.
