Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Clark Wedding Party-Room Block Unfortunately, the other guests that booked rooms were not able to be near other guests once the reservations were made. I thought a "block" of rooms meant they were at least on the same floor and near each other...not in this case. Our A/C had a thermostat control which did not work. It basically ran all night or we didn't have any air circulating in the room. Heard another guest banging on a door outside our room about 2:30 am...not something pleasant to wake up too especially with a 4 yr old. Before check out time, had a maid knock on the door and then proceed to enter even though my Husband was still in bed. Not sure the food was provided for the reception for the wedding or not....it was not hot or even warm and staff was very slow in replenishing. August 21, 2013

During my stay I notice a huge group staying at the Hotel.....words quoted my guest services " SPECIAL GROUP". I have been a Priority Club Member for a long time and during my many stays at IHG Hotels, this was the worst customer services I have received. I would hope that someone at a manager's level would understand that all guests are important.......or as your guest services would say " SPECIAL GROUP". August 18, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by August stay I gave Room and Comfort a 4 because the air conditioner really didn't keep the room as cool as I would have liked it. It was extremely hot outside and I'm sure the AC was working overtime, but I needed the room a bit cooler to sleep. I set it as low as I could, but that didn't seem to make an impact. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Maybe they were having a bad day I was singularly unimpressed with the dust covered filtration vents, cracked shower surround and the run on toilet. The shower head dripped and the ventilation unit was so dirty that it short cycled on and off the entire time. On the plus side. The staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby was spotless. The parking was very convenient. The conference room was well stocked, clean and the climate control system worked well. I'm on the fence as to whether or not I would return. August 12, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A/C Unit & Breakfast Cost The A/C unit's cover rattled so much it made it difficult to sleep. I tried to secure it, but had no success. I just took it off just so I could sleep. I travel a lot for business and a $12 breakfast (as the Holiday Inn had) is a non-starter... The competition for Holiday seems too great. I'll stay at a hotel that offers the same price for a room and gives me a complimentary breakfast. This trip I was there with my wife and child. I'm not spending $36 on breakfast. I'd have to be out of options before I return to this hotel. The people were very nice. The room was clean. August 3, 2013

The service was excellent and the breakfast buffet was delicious. We were a little wary because there was a Class Reunion going on and Lacrosse clubs staying at the hotel but it was extremely quiet with no problems. We will definitely stay here again!! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff, very accomodating My daughter and I were in town for a softball tournament. The first room we checked into had a mildew smell and the bathtub had a constant drip. I called the front desk and they moved me to a different room no problem. The new room was fresh and had no problems. It was extremely convenient having a restaurant on site at the hotel. After a looong day on the fields, tha last thing we wanted to do was walk or drive to a restaurant, or order pizza again. The beds and pillows were comfortable and we slept like rocks. The rest of the team stayed at another hotel a couple of miles away...and needless to say, their experience was not a relaxing, to put it mildly. July 22, 2013

Even though our rm had a tbrush, sock and wrapper left that the cleaning people left under the bed and O'Malleys food service was pretty slow, it will not deter us away from going back! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Some issues but overall approve Our room was very nice overall, however the bed frame on one of the beds was bigger than the box spring and mattress which caused my Wife and I both to bang our ankles on a metal bar that stuck out about 6 to 8 inches farther than the bed. The metal bar was hidden by the bed skirt, so you couldn't see it. Breakfast was not very good. I would advise passing on adding breakfast to your stay package. Overall, the hotel and their staff is very nice. I was especially impressed with the staff. Everyone was very friendly and professional. We were staying there with a 10 year old youth baseball team and they were very patient with the kids, even when they needed to settle down. I would not hessitate to stay at holliday inn gaithersburg again. July 12, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Room to room noise Second time at this hotel. This time around had a family w/ kids next door and was able to hear most of their conversations/ running. When they quieted down - could hear the people on the other side talking pretty quietly. Didn't notice any noise from the hall. If the AC was on - it drowns out the room to room noise, but you'd have to turn your TV way up to be able to hear it. I would have preferred to have the fan on continuously, but it cycles off with the AC if you want cooling. June 26, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A Little Misleading The hotel and its staff were great. The location proved to be prime due to all the activities and sights within walking and driving distance. The restaurant/pub attached had amazing food that we enjoyed multiple times during the stay. Though all of that was good the initial description and communication with the receptionist were a bit off. On the sight there is a statement about pets not being allowed in the hotel, this however was not the case as I observed multiple dogs walking through the lobby. While I believe that it is great that they offer this as a convenience to animal owners I wish that I had advance notice due to a severe animal allergy one of my guests had. The second bit that was misleading was the presence of a microwave and a fridge. Upon being asked the desk clerk stated that all rooms came standard with these two appliances. When in reality, I had to pay 15.00 a night to have them in my room. While the fee is not high, I still wish that I had been given the correct information and warned of the fee. All-in-All I would say that the Holiday Inn had a great, hospitable atmosphere and would definitely stay again and recommend it to family and friends. June 23, 2013
