This hotel is well sited for the airport and has a large car park with free parking and a shuttle service to and from the airport terminal
although you have a long walk when dropped off at the north terminal also the beds are very hard.
We had a meal my wife,s was fine but my meal was not so good the piece of sirloin steak that I have was like rubber you just could not cut it or eat it at all I complained and was told that all the steaks were the same so I changed my order to another meal this one was fine I think they need to change their supplier if this is the case

We always stay here the night before our Holiday if we can. So clean and comfortable, and the staff go out of their way to carry out any request. It really gets the holiday off to a good start.!!

I have stayed here many times - and love the convenience for the airport and main line station. The staff are always attentive - and the food good. Some aspects of the room were a little tired - but it was very comfortable.

Living in Cornwall and catching a 6.40 am flight, Holiday Inn Gatwick provided the ideal overnight stop. The staff were friendly and efficient and the room clean and comfortable - what else could we want??!!

Rather than face the M25 early morning, we decided to take a Stay and park deal at the Holiday Inn Gatwick. Lovely relaxed meal, good nights sleep and 5 minute taxi ride early morning to the airport. Our holiday started the night before

A good stay and I was upgraded after asking. Good facilities overall and enjoyed the stay. On the downside, the prices in the restaurant were a little steep. Also, I wish I would have been informed that there was a shuttle bus from the airport which I would have used instead of a taxi

I use this hotel on a weekly basis. On arriving late around 11.00pm after a 280 mile journey and usually recognised as a Gold member. However, on this visit, the person checking me was not aware that I was a member, despite me stating that I was. She did not check the system to verify my membership and stated I would need to present my membership card to prove I was a member (which was in my car) and I said that I would provide that on check out as it was raining heavily and the car was parked some distance from the entrance to the hotel
However I was not offered the bonus points being offered to other member guests around me. I therefore accepted the situation but equally disappointed to be provided with a single bed room, when my registered preference is always a double bed.
Disappointed with the reception as it would only have taken the receptionist to check on the computor.

We had left our car at the Holiday Inn when we went on holiday. On our return to a rainy Gatwick we waited for some 30 minutes for the hotel bus. We then queued at Reception to retrieve our car, only to be told that it had a flat tyre. By now it was approaching 6pm and we had a reasonably long drive ahead of us. The RAC said that due to a major accident on the M25 it would take them some 75 minutes to reach us. We had already been up since the equivalent of 4am UK time to check out of our holiday accommodation and catch our return flight. The lovely staff at the Holiday Inn not only saved the day, but provided an executive room for a very low price and found me some hair conditioner from the store cupboard as I had finished mine in Crete. We had drinks in the bar, a lovely dinner and crashed out. The next day we enjoyed a delicious leisurely full English breakfast in bed before locking the cruise control on to 50mph and crawling round the M23, M25 and A1M on our space saver. Holiday Inn you saved the end of our holiday from being an unmitigated disaster and the only one to suffer was our cat who had to spend a few hours longer in cattery. We hope she will forgive us in due course.

Like most, stayed here for an early morning flight from Gatwick.
Overall the stay was excellent & highly efficient, from the moment of check-in to checkout.
Car parking at £10 for 24 hours was fair.
Food was excellent and fairly priced & varied.
Wi-fi - only had my mobile so during connection I must have clicked the wrong wi-fi tariff and ended up paying £25 to check my emails once. Galling, but my fault.
The room was comfortable and well-stocked with towels and toiletries & the ubiquitous tea & coffee.Bed was comfortable and TV was adequate.
Overall, excellent. They obviously know their clients (mostly) are in transit to/from the airport and cater accordingly for their needs.
The hotel bill was pushed under the door for 'speedy checkout' but the reception staff at 5am were just as quick but more friendly.
Having stayed at Holiday Inn before, I was worried about eating there as their 'microwave culture' turned my stomach; but am happy to say Bravo! Food excellent, varied, tasty and obviously cooked fresh to order.
Before I fly off to Malta in May, I think I may just stay here again and be refreshed for my flight.
Excellent.

The beds are not very comfortable. The sofa-beds if you have kids with you are positively shocking. All the springs poke through. My son was so uncomfortable I had to pad the mattress with all the towels I could find and remake the bed with the sheet over the towels. The cot was not there when we arrived, despite having been requested and confirmed by staff weeks in advance. I called down for it and went to dinner. When we came back over an hour later to put the kids to bed it still wasn't there and I had to call again. When it came it was so wobbly we were afraid it would collapse during the night. There was a lot of noise in the corridor late at night. Overall not a great stay. The staff were polite and friendly but if they don't then come up with the goods that's not much use. The food is indifferent and there is nowhere for kids to run about.

Only 10 mins or so from Gatwick and with regular transfers, this Holiday Inn is ideal if you have an early flight and you need to travel down the night before and park your car for the duration of your holiday or business trip.
Transfers are every 15 mins (£3p.p. each way) so no long waits on your return.
Mentioned the high charges for the Wi-Fi on the 'comments' form and received a phone call on my return and was told there is soon to be free Wi-Fi,so good news and they do at least read your comments.
Very pleasant staff at reception during check-in and on our return to collect the car keys.
Will definitely use this Hotel in the future and have no hesitation in recommending it.

This is a great location for parking at Gatwick and the park and stay packages are excellent value. Another bonus is the car stays on site which means you can have access to it right up until you check out. The staff are very friendly and helpful and genuinely make you feel very welcome. Good bar with great atmosphere.

To get the most time away for a short break in Naples we had booked an early 0730 departure and a late 2030 arrival on return giving us effectively extra days away. Staying at the Holiday Inn with the stay and park option and a night booked on return was just great: Easy to find at Gatwick, parking fine, rooms just as expected, buses to the terminal from the door, no need for an even earlier departure from home or a drive home late at night if delayed, would recommend.

Only one piece of paper tissue sitting on top of the box, empty inside! Also left bedside has paper rubbish (empty sugar pouch) on the floor.
Need improvement in room housekeeping!
Front check in service was very very good and helpful!

We have stayed here previously when flying from Gatwick. We have always had exceptionally clean, well presented and maintained rooms. On most recent occasion had room 308-double. Very well worn and dirty easy and desk chairs, chipped woodwork around clothes hanging space and a really tacky telephone cable tacked to door frame to adjoining room. Nice bathroom. Somewhat disappointed

Overall a good hotel. Room is very spacious and clean. Front desk restaurant staff need to slow down when speaking - they seemed to be in a major hurry and uninterested in explaining instructions and directions properly.
One exception was the lady who takes care of the conference area - she was very helpful and helped set up the event. Very professional and explained things very well.
I held a conference for 90 people after my night's stay. The food was excellent. The PA system (microphone etc) was very poor and kept switching off.
The number one major minus of this hotel - no widely available Wi-FI without paying extortionate rates (£5 an hour for one device to access Wi-FI - Seriously Holiday Inn??!!) I will not be recommending this venue for other events and event holders for this very reason.

Very friendly staff nothing was any trouble food and rooms very good and clean .
I have stayed in this hotel 14 times in the last 18 months and apart from one night were I did not get the room I requested which was sorted out the next day I can honestly this is a well run friendly hotel .

It snowed during my stay this time. There were reports of people being stranded in their cars some ten miles away for up to eight hours by the snow. Despite all this the staff remained cheerful and gave excellent service. Perhaps more importantly my comfortable room was quite warm enough during the unseasonably cold weather.

A recent stay at this hotel proved to be excellent value for money, only staying for one night before an international flight was definatly worth every penny.
Although the rooms were older and could do with updating, they were comfortable and clean and for a short stay are ideal.
The check in staff were excellent, professional and very curtious and the bar/restuarant food was of an exceptionally high standard.
Sadly we did experiance a problem with the food (Not the hotels fault), but this was rectified without hesitation by the server and then the manager came to offer appologies and a free drink. It is rare to see such a sincere approach to problems encounted now days, and for this reason along I would return to this hotel.
I am recommending friends to stay pre and post holidays as car parking is great value too.
I commend all the staff that we meet on our short visit and Please... Keep up the high standards of service.

We booked for the night before our holiday and the price including car parking was a bargain. We travelled with a child and an infant. Booking was very easy and courteous, free travel cots provided.
Straight forward check in with friendly staff, but once at our room realised the mattresses were awful, very bumpy and saggy with no support so you roll into the middle of the bed. The pull out sofa bed was ok for a child but would have been awful for an adult as no support and very dated.
We requested to change rooms but told all mattresses and beds in the hotel were the same age and standard.
Food in the restaurant was excellent value for money and a good selection. All food very tasty and children well catered for.
Getting the bus to the airport was easy and quick.
If the beds could be sorted out, this would be a gem of a hotel.
