Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No Sky TV in the Bar I use this Hotel a lot - It is convenient for Gatwick, however my recent stay was marred by the lack of TV in the Bar on Semi Final League Cup second round. The Bar Manager said they had problems (with All the Sky boxes !). On a good note though the local taxi ride to The Bull pub £3.50, delivered the required TV viewing and a very welcoming host. Pleasant rooms. a little tricky finding the G1/G2/G7 bus that gets you there, but this is a Gatwick issue not a Holiday Inn issue. Very professional and courteous staff, would have no problems staying here again. January 25, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Awful staff and Internet, comfortable room As a platinum member, I have stayed at many IHG properties worldwide, this Holiday Inn was the worst. First, the positive: Clean room with basics as expected, quite a nice bathroom. Negative: No recognition of status at check in. It turns out I was upgraded to an 'executive room', which is turns out just gives you 2 bottles of water and a kit kat - seriously? The staff at checkin couldn't have been less interested, didn't even give info about breakfast without being asked. Bed - mattress worn out, a very serious dip in the middle. Internet - The standard internet was up to 256kbps. This has to be an absolute joke - it reminded me if when I first got the Internet in 1995, watching pictures slowly load on the screen. You could upgrade for £13 per day - more than I pay for a month at home. Overall, if you get a very good rate, AND don't need internet, a one night stay would be OK. Otherwise steer well clear. This is the first IHG property I've stayed at that I would never return to. They are ruining the brand. January 24, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Restful stay on our way home Returning from a skiing holiday in Norway and arriving too late to get home, we had a very relaxing stay before completing our journey home the following morning. The staff were very helpful and the facilities excellent. We left refreshed after a good breakfast. Reception staff promptly arranged a taxi for us to the station for our journey home. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ideal Stop-over A good experience overall at this hotel which was being used as a stop-over before flying to Stockholm for a business meeting. The front of house staff were very efficient and recognised my Platinum Elite status and provided me with a complimentary upgrade. The bar area was well populated but provided a good bar meal. The staff in the bar were all very friendly and efficient. Checkout the following morning was at 4.30 but the invoice was accurate and I experienced no delays in checking out. Overall it was a good stay and I shall definitely be using this hotel for future stopovers. January 23, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Helpful Staff Check-in (by night staff) was efficient and welcoming. My preferences were remembered from previous stays. A complementary room upgrade was given. Breakfasts were excellent with a good choice and porridge cooked to order. Restaurant staff were welcoming and attentive. Housekeeping was efficient and thorough throughout my stay. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Hotel with Great Staff Close to head office and the Airport, this Holiday Inn is the prefect hotel when visiting Head Office. The hotel is always well presented and the staff are great, good corporate rates and recognition for the priority club is good will discount at the bar and restaurant. The breakfast is amazing. The room was nice, found the drinks a bit expensive but guess you would expect that on top of Gatwick Airport. The deal included parking for 2 weeks with overnight stay and breakfast. The deal price was very reasonable. This is the second time we have booked and will again this winter if value is on par with last visit. January 16, 2014

Will stay there again! we were given free wifi so we could check our flight as there were delayes due to bad weather and a power cut at gatwick. January 10, 2014

I found the staff at this hotel extremely polite & helpful, rooms are very clean & offer a comfy bed & superb power shower, outstanding value (although parking is a bit pricey & I think should be included in room price)! Tall Lady at the breakfast service was not very patient and no attention to customers.....considering the price of the breakfast we were expecting better quality food and better service.but we don't normally need breakfast service. Room wasn't as good as all other times as sofa bed was not comfortable at all. Overall if you get it at a good price the hotel is very convenient when travelling from gatwick. January 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice My friends and I were here for a Xmas party (7th Dec) and NYE party, I really enjoyed my stay on the 7th and the room (3rd) that we stayed in was great, also had a good nights sleep. However, on NY it was an altogether experience, shower not that great and very noisy floor (5th floor), the people next door were making a lot of noise and had music very loud, I did have to contact reception and they soon sorted it out. We also had a problem when we checked in as they did not have any of our details (even thought this was supposed to have been sorted out by them as we booked the rooms and dinner direct with Holiday Inn. The breakfast is very good and staff are fab. January 4, 2014

The location is convenient, but they charged an extra £1.25 per hour to park a car, and £5 for half an hour internet access. Many hotels include such common requirements in the room rate but here, to use the American expression, they will 'nickle and dime you to death' with extra charges. You leave with a really sour feeling about the place and the staff. January 3, 2014

This time I stayed 2 nights between Xmas & New Year & found it was even better & improved facilities. I arrived late at night & was given a warm reception. The breakfast choice was good & I had a very reasonably priced, large & good quality snack at bar and in room. My mattress was very comfortable. The room was cold even with air conditioner on, and within 10 minutes a staff-member had brought me a small heater to use. All the staff were extremely friendly & helpful. January 2, 2014

This time I was again very satisfied with the room, cleanliness and facilities of the establishment. My only criticism was the rather slow service at the bar area when I ordered a bowl of soup which took 35 minutes to arrive. How long does it take to heat a bowl of soup?. I will stay there again. We would certainly use this facility again when travelling. It just gives that moment to relax before or at the end of what can be quite a stressful time of being in the right place at the right time. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Massive room for improvement I was moved to this hotel by my hotel supplier as the original one I booked closed so I didn't choose the hotel. On arrival parking was clearly hit and miss and pretty chaotic. I paid £10 to park overnight but it seemed to be a free for all and I would imagine most guests didn't admit at check in (like I did) that they were parking in the car park. The room was far from sparklingly clean. Long hairs in the bath and bed, dirty spoons and cups. I had major hassle with the free wifi as an IHG Elite member. It didn't work for me when I entered my details on the webpage and when I contacted Reception they offered to contact the IT company. I received a phone call back and transferring me to the Company who eventually gave me the complimentary connection but this took around 30 minutes to resolve. On check out the Receptionist tried to bill me for the call! I didn't bother eating at the hotel and the luxury of taking breakfast in the room would have set me back around £20 which includes the stupid tray charge. No complimentary newspapers or any real feeling of a welcome at the hotel. Staff and management have a lot to improve on before I return. December 17, 2013
