Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Noise was terrible Booked in for Christmas shopping trip with husband .the hotel was hosting a Christmas party night and informed us on arrival that our room was at the other end of the building so we would not be disturbed ......what they never said was that some of the party guests were staying on our floor .....well from midnight until 4.30am there was a constant banging on various doors that they had booked out ...the noise from the corridor was deafening I'm not talking about teenagers.these people were well in there forties and did not care who heard them shouting ,laughing banning on each others doors .by 4.30 am I had had enough I opened the door and asked them about the noise ....they just laughed .i phoned reception and the manager was up within minutes and by 4.45 am all was quiet ...... Peace at last ..........breakfast was good .would I stay again .NO!! December 14, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sometimes a mistake can be a surprise Oops....... we normally stay at the Holiday Inn express as we 're usually passing thru to go on holiday, but the wrong click of a mouse booked us into the Holiday Inn next door. We arrived at the Express and the staff quickly found our reservation next door, good call, an exec. room with mini bar !! pity we were only there for a night. Staff were excellent in both hotels and the breakfast (and service) could n't have been better. (must try to make this mistake more often ) December 14, 2012

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Upgrade not forthcoming on arrival Having arrived after 6 hours travel, I was handed a letter on checking in. I discovered later in the evening that the letter was an offer to upgrade for a special rate, as I am a gold Priority Club member. I would have taken the offer if I had been informed at the time of checking in, as I wanted to work in the room and the standard room is very small. It seems very strange to hand over a letter without explaining the benefits it contains when the decision needed to me made at that moment. I am a fairly regular guest at this hotel and felt disapointed. December 5, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Priority Club Member Forgotten Normally I am greeted as a Priority Club Gold Member at check-in but this was not mentioned, nor was there any voucher with my key card. Normally as a Priority Club Member you receive a voucher for a complimentary drink at the bar, dessert with your meal or something along these lines. I would have mentioned this at check-in but my mother is 80 and doesn't like to make a fuss. November 14, 2012

Staff very willing to please and I was acknowledged as a 'gold' member.....often not mentioned. I only wish there was a 'public' computer I could use. I did go to the holiday inn express next door but I would have done this the previous evening if this facility was available at the hotel. Excellent location. November 8, 2012

Room service was wonderful, the food that was delivered was delicious. I would also like to thank the receptionist who did not laugh when I asked for directions somewhere that was actually right across the road. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. November 2, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room well laid out and well serviced Like the number of lights in the room .Usually find rooms too dark but not here can switch off if not wanted but can't switch on ones not there ,as in other hotels. Have been here before and will come here again.Good value and convenient for transport theatre restaurants etc.The staff are always helpful and concerned for your well being. We had a room on the side which is quieter. The rooms are well equipped! The food is good so is the bar. Nice area to sit with drinks.Love the decor. very art deco and qurky. We were there last Xmas and the decorations were amazing!!! October 21, 2012

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Smile Please Hotels are not just about rooms and good food. Its about the service of the staff that make the experience of the rooms and food come to life. So on that I would have to say that this property was quite poor. No staff member was able to engage with the guests. They did not know how to smile for a start! I stayed for 6 nights and went to breakfast every morning and ordered the same eggs and coffee. I would get asked the same question from the same staff member each day..."would you like a coffee and how would you like your eggs?". Gee I told you on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. It has not changed! Service is about the little things. Remembering your guests likes and dislikes will make them feel special and want them to come back to your hotel. The only staff member that took the time to engage in conversation was a New Zealand girl. I think she said she was a trainee. I predict she will do well in this industry. As she cares.
