The food in the dining room was excellent as was the service provided by the staff. We would recommend this hotel to anyone planning to holiday in the Coswolds. July 9, 2014

However, the main reason I booked this Hotel over others was their leisure facilities. But when I tried to book a massage I was told, 'sorry Sir they are on holiday'. ????????????? This was not notified in advance to my knowledge. I would have not booked this hotel and paid more than their competitors prices. Not good. July 6, 2014

I came to the Gloucester/Cheltenham Holiday Inn to a Teaching conference, I enjoyed my stay at this venue, the staff in general were very friendly and efficient. I would like to say a big thank you to the Bar staff during my stay, the service was excellent. I enjoyed eating in the lounge bar as I preferred eating there instead of the restaurant while watching Football.on the big screen. I really enjoyed using the hotel wireless internet for my work, the staff was very kind at that time. The room was very spacious with good facilities. I needed to relax, I used the pool and sauna and jaccuzi facilties, very enjoyable. The overall of the stay was very good. June 25, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A wonderful escape I had a wonderful stay at the holiday inn in Gloucester with my husband. First thing to say is that the location is perfect, situated on the edge of Gloucester, most of the Cotswold picturesque villages are within half hour drive. Driving being essential, one positive is that this hotel has plenty of parking. Easily the best thing about our stay was the staff, upon arrival, reception were friendly and very helpful. The staff in the restaurant were also just as great. Our stay included breakfast and dinner for the duration of our stay, which was great value for money. Their was plenty of choice, and the food was delicious. We send our complements to the chef, every meal was excellent. Our room was spotless, very clean, the furnishing was a little on the older side but was of good quality. The only negative would be that the room was bit on the smaller side when compared to other holiday inns we have stayed in. Overall we had a fantastic stay and we look forward to staying with holiday inn again in the future June 15, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Unhappy guest Based on our experience at this Holiday Inn, we will likely not choose this brand again. We had a main floor room and were reluctant to leave our window open overnight, the carpets were dirty and the furniture worn. The hairdryer was in a desk drawer and could not be removed, so one has to dry their hair standing or sitting near the drawer. The breakfast was OK, not great, although the fried eggs were nice. Terrible coffee. But the biggest complaint is the exorbitant rate charged for WiFi, both in the guest rooms and in the lobby. The staff were not terribly helpful; for example, although we stayed 2 nights, it wasn't until the morning of our departure that we learned it was possible to obtain a code for free WiFi on ONE of the computers in the lobby. This would have been useful earlier in our stay when we were searching for information about the area. June 9, 2014

Good food at breakfast and at the wedding. How do they do so much for the price? Our only criticism- wifi should be free at least in public areas. May 30, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Service change and Recognition of status. Overall the hotel is acceptable, the public areas and rooms are clean and warm. The staff are friendly and helpful. The evening meal was very nice and cooked as requested (medium steak). Breakfast was very good with nice selection. The down side was no complementary room upgrade was offered at check in even thou the hotel was "not busy" words of the receptionist. This hotel adds a service charge of 10% as standard, this was not pointed out in the restaurant for the evening meal and only noticed the next morning when ordering a coffee in reception, coffee was £3.50 with a 35p service charge added. This is not what i have come to expect from IHG hotels and not in the UK. I can understand and accept a service charge for a meal of 8 or more people but not for a coffee in reception. This is not a good practice and not normal for the hotel group. May 12, 2014

I have been staying here every week for a couple of months and the little extras like a fridge n the room and a joy. Although some of the older rooms are tired and the broadband is slow the rest of the hotel is great the food is great try the pork bites and the beer is always cold. Free use of the pool and gym are a bonus. May 12, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Weekend in Cheltenham Our bank holiday break in the Cotswolds - thanks holiday inn, we had a lovely break. Used the pool once, shame the showers were being refurbished. Staff all very pleasant although in the end I tried to avoid eye contact at reception. Breakfast was excellent, room was fine but bathroom in need of a little TLC. Points credited after a couple of days and my faith in staying at HI's is increasing. May 10, 2014

However, the front desk somehow didn't recognise my platinum status and though I booked the room on rewards night, I wasn't given a room upgrade nor complimentary internet. I had to log into my account and show it to front desk in order to get the free internet benefit. However, the front desk didn't then take the initiative to give me a complimentary upgrade. Overall, the hotel was nice, clean and in a great location. I would recommend on this regard. May 7, 2014

Let down by a few minor details that add up to taking the shine off of the experience. The Lounge Menu for example - instead of mini sausages with a glaze they serve standard sagas cut into pieces - may sound petty but dried up pieces of sausage bear no resemblance to what should be served. Was not recognised as a Gold member and person requests for room preferences totally ignored. I use Holiday Inn hotels whenever I can, and this one ranks below average in my experience in terms of the various services that are offered. May 4, 2014

The accommodation was very comfortable indeed and we enjoyed the added extras e.g. dressing gown, bottled water, chocolate bars and well stocked coffee and tea facilities. The service in the restaurant was quite excellent, considering how busy it was on both nights. The food was delicious and the attention paid to us in particular by Emma Stoddard, Food and Beverage supervisor was second to none. We shall definitely return as the location was great for visiting the Cotswolds, Cheltenham etc. Many thanks to all at the front desk who were very obliging. April 24, 2014

Spacious room, excellent shower ( and thanks for travel cot Scot, our 8 month old baby boy slept well as did we). Room service food was delicious. Excellent breakfast with a variety of food options and again staff fantastic. Lovely relaxing time, we didn't want to leave ! This Holiday Inn is the best Holiday Inn we have stayed in and we have stayed in many over the years. The staff at this Inn make it special. April 20, 2014

The only difficulty we had is that we were on the first floor and there is no lift. Suffering from hip problems this was not ideal. April 4, 2014
