Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor service The desk staff were rude and slow to respond. Too busy talking/texting on personal phone to check in. We were given a room that had not been cleaned. No soap, coffee clean towels, bedding was dirty. The room we were moved to was next to the elevator and very noisy. We were continued with the disrepect at check out the next morning. The desk manager would not let us talk to the hotel manager. We were still charged the full amount. May 16, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Close to Niagara Falls We stayed here for several days using reward points. The hotel is under renovation and we were told it will no longer be a Holiday Inn after June as it has been purchased by foreign investors and will be turned into an upscale resort and spa. Our room on the fifth floor was adequate with a lovely view of the river. There isn't much to do on Grand Island and Niagara Falls is a toll bridge away but it was pleasant to get away from the tourist buses and casino traffic at the end of the day. May 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice stay We and other family members were in town for a funeral. We found this hotel to be very comfortable and it worked perfectly for us. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. On our first evening there they even provided a large meeting room for us to gather. The hotel is undergoing some renovations and updating but that did not affect us. Although we did not use the pools, fitness areas, or restaurant/bar, they appear to be very nice. The rooms have a balcony with a sliding door. Stores and pizza nearby. We would stay there again. May 3, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Would not recommend this hotel. The room had torn bed sheets and bedskirts. Wallpaper was coming apart at the seams. Eleorvates where not working half the time. The pool area was a great disapoint the ceiling was peeling and hanging and the hot tub jets didn't work. Also the water in the hot tub had a weird corcol to it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. April 12, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by room was freezing when entered My family has stayed at this hotel many times since 1981 and have always enjoyed our past visits. Stayed on March 22 for 2 nights - the room was freezing upon entering as the balcony door had been left wide open , therefore the room was also unsecured . The toilet would not flush as the chain was undone and there was next to no toilet tissue in the bathroom. It took all night for the room to heat up. The fan was also all on night and was very noisy. The next night upon our return the heater was blowing only cold air - we finally turned off the heat as there was no point to having cold air blowing. We were very disappointed in our overall experience and will never stay here again. This is too bad as we do have good memories of staying here when our now adult children were young. We have traveled extensively in the past several years staying at many types of hotels and different changes and this experience has been our worst ever! March 29, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wouldn't Recommend I found the room to be 'okay'. It wasn't filthy, but it gave you the feel that it was gone over quickly and attention to detail was not given. The smoke alarm was beeping becasue the battery was dying #had to call down# and you can't even order an in room movie. I had a customer service issue that was not dealt with to my satisfaction and it left me very dissapointed overall. March 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Will stay again I had to come to the area for buisness. My wife came along with me. Upon arrival the staff was friendly and helpful. I was a little concerned after reading a few of these reviews. We did experience a couple of the same type issues as other reviews. Ice machine on our floor (3) wasn't working but the staff quickly brought ice to our room. My wife had room service for breakfast while i was working and said the staff was very nice and courteous. On our last night there we were asking the person at the front desk where we could go for a good dinner. They urged us to stay at the hotel for dinner. She said they had a new chef and the food was wonderful. We decided to stay and she was right. We had a wonderful meal at a very good price. Our server was very pleasant and the restaurant manager as well. Our dinner experience really made for a nice end to our stay. I can tell the hotel still has some minor issues but the staff is working hard to change that. If I lived near by I would eat there often. I will be back again. March 23, 2013
