I'm really confused by some of the reviews on here. I was treated like royalty as a Platinum Priority Club member, and my top floor room was very nice. I enjoyed the view over the river, although it was too cold for the balcony.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. I look forward to staying with them again.

Price was good in the off-season, and commute to Buffalo / Tonawanda was convenient. Wireless internet was very fast.
But there were an unusual number of issues: fitness room was not open @5:30am and had no hours posted, breakfast buffet was supposed to open at 6:30 but staff had not even arrived at the hotel as of 6:45; the TV was tempermental - difficult to even turn on or change the channel; the alarm clock was broken. I have never stayed at a Holiday Inn with so many issues.

lots of potential. Good people and great value. Needs updating and upgrading. Very clean, quiet and no bad smells. Big pool. Sauna closed. Bartender very professional. Breakfast took forever and was cold (did they send out for it?). Would recommend for a shopping weekend or family getaway (not for a special away).

This place used to be very nice 5-6 years ago when I stayed. My recent stay was very poor. The first room I was given smelled of stale smoke, like an old baroom. Second room the TV did not work. The third room was OK, smelled good, but my river front view was now a couple of roof top AC units. The breakfast was only ok at best, and was pretty much late the three days I was there. Bar staff were OK, however, the food there was bad as well. Terrible smell coming from behind the bar, seemed like every time they opened a cooler. I would say the only plus on my recent trip was Ashely at the front desk. She was very nice and took care of switching my rooms. I will not be staying at this location again.

I set my family up here for thanksgiving. They had a wonderful time. The staff was extremely accomodating and the room provided did just the trick. My father had a chance to speak with the new owners who had just taken posession of the property. They explained there vision for the property and I hope it works out this hotel is quite the gem. My little sister loved the indoor pool facilities and had a blast there with her cousins. Definitely will recommend again.

I had a distressed experience during this visit. they double booked my room to someone else, who used my room in my absence. Drank my wine, and stole some personal things from my luggage. spilled wine on table, and on the rug. left door of my room wide open. I spoke the the staff, at the front desk, and to the manager, who said they will investigate. My last day of stay, they told me, they will look into it, but now that my stay was over they could not do much about it.
I understand the hotel was auctioned and sold out, and no one was interested to serve the guests, even providing average service. There was no hot water in the room. the phone did not work, No TV. and then they sold the room to another guest at the same time. I am sure it is all in the record there, since someone else was booked in the same room, also would have complained about the double booking. I have horror stories of this stay at the Holiday Inn, and it has been the most stressful, insecure, and unsafe of my stay in my history of 50 years of stays in various hotel around the work.

The public areas have been redone, but the rooms are very dated, and the elevators are a disaster - at least one broken every day.
The housekeeping staff were cheerful, but the front desk staff seemed to be barely able to cope with the normal demands of their jobs. The staff behaved as if the arrival of the bridge tournament players (an annual event) was a big surprise and even an inconvenience. In addition there was no Gold Priority check-in line, and the person running the Priority Club breakfast kiosk was not at all cheerful.

When reported, a 'manufactured' saying of sorry, but no real effort to have it done.
We agreed that evening after 7 would be OK.
Another set of words then .....
At 11PM nothing had been done!
The manager gave us clean towels but twas too late to order a change.
I realize that your ice machines were either broken or exhausted
but at least Post a notice so we did not have to check each floor in a search.
The manager then gave us bag of ice at the desk.
I remember a few years ago that the button lights were out in the elevators .... and still are!
Poor housekeeping sorry.

Hotel needs updating in addition to regular maintenance. Poor value. Food was poor to non-existent. Poor value. Staff was friendly.

This hotel has the makings to be very nice, however my room was dirty and had little spiders all over the place. I stayed in a suite and the balcony which i had 4 was dirty and had a bees nest on one. Fridge was unplugged and not very clean.

The people "workers"at the Holiday Inn was awesome. Just very disappointed that the Priority Club section was only opened once in the 3 days that i was there. I was told they would be open 2 times a day. Never happened. "very very disappointed"
