The only concerns we had was traffic noise in our room and rooms are a little small....but otherwise PERFECT. We would definitely stay here again! March 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very relaxing stay I was in town with my husband for a big school presentation that I had to present the next day. Holiday Inn was the best place we could have chosen to stay! The beds were so comfy, I got a wonderful night of sleep. We also used the indoor pool and hot tub, which were nearly empty (no rowdy kids around, although it was a kid-friendly place). Gerald R. Ford museum is right across the street for those in town for vacation/entertainment. March 25, 2013

On a previous stay we didn't receive great service from your dining staff, however, this time we had an excellent waiter who was a pleasure to chat with. His name was Andrew. One thing that we love about this hotel is that it is centrally located to all of our favorite places making it easy to get around. I understand a slowdown in the evening when large numbers of people are online, but this connection was very slow even during the day. For a hotel that is not cheap, I expect that you wouldn't cut corners on your Internet service. I will not be selecting this property again. March 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Local Attractions Came into town for a concert. Asked how far away from the hotel the venue was and was just told a couple of blocks. Asked about the Titanic experience that was at the Public Museum across the street and the front desk couldn't offer any information . I was not offered maps for the city or anything that was going on around town. Looked in lobby for information, guides-anything and there was nothing. Also nothing in my room. Finally had to go back down to the desk, ask for a map and specific instructions how to get there. This would have been much easier if this was offered to me when I checked in- especially since I was asked why I was there and what I would be doing. I went to the museum the following day and found city maps as well as guide books, With such a great location to everything, I don't understand why none of these resources were available at the hotel? I will probably stay again here again but will look for information about going on's before I arrive. March 17, 2013

Each evening was blissfully quiet, comfortable and totally relaxing in the well-decorated room and the awesome bed. The wireless connection helped me keep up-to-date with news both national and family while I wrote up my notes from the myriad of workshops I attended each day. The free parking is a wonderful bonus! I just love staying in this hotel andwill continue to do so every year when this conference rolls into town. March 15, 2013

We always tended to say more right downtown but decided to save a little on cost and booked the Holiday Inn. We were both very happy with the room, the beds and just the location of the Inn. I can't say enough about the friendly and helpful staff--they really made us feel welcome. We will be staying here whenever we return to the Grand Rapids area!! This place is super clean, very well maintained, has fast elevators, and is located right across the river from everything. While very near to the expressway ramp, we never heard any traffic noise from our room and slept great! I really appreciated that the heating unit maintained our room at the constant comfy temperature all night--without going on/off all the time. We'll be back! January 29, 2013

The staff is great, the Prime Rib is a deal, and the location is spot on. You will not receive a fake staff like the JW!! Quality normal caring people at this place for a decent price. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel, Good Location, Excellent Food This was my first time staying at the hotel. I liked the location right off the expressway and how close it is to the DeVos Place. Most Holiday Inn Expresses I have stayed at lately have Direct TV in HD. This hotel does not and I was disappointed with the channel selection. Check in was very long. About 7 or 8 guests walked in around 6 PM and there was only one person working the front desk. I was the last of the group and it was only after I checked in that another employee showed up. I was disappointed I was not recognized as a platinum member. I cannot recall the name of the restaurant but the food was excellent. Whether I stay at this hotel or not, the next time I'm in Grand Rapids I will go back and order the Walleye!!! January 15, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice hotel, great location, excellent staff. I've been staying here for more than 10 years - it has been a Holiday Inn for maybe the last 3 or 4 years. I stay at this hotel whenever I am in Grand Rapids - last year (2012# I stayed here 32 nights. I've never had a bad experience here, it hasn't always been perfect but the issues have been very few and minor. As an example - one stay the air conditioning wasn't working well, after verifying it needed repair I was moved to another room immediately. The staff from the front desk to the housekeeping people to the maintenance staff have always been very friendly and helpful. And, they do a great job keeping the place neat and clean. There are so many places to eat in this area that I rarely eat at the hotel, but the couple of meals I did have were very good. It is in easy walking distance to the downtown businesses, across the street from 2 museums and only a couple blocks from DeVos Hall, VanAndel Arena, The GR Art Museum, GR Civic Theatre, and much more .... a perfect location to stay. And I LOVE the fact they have a real parking lot - I have a hate relationship with parking structures. #and they hate me !) I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the downtown area. January 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel and Staff We had a large group staying for the weekend to attend my daughter's graduation at Van Andel Arena. It was a short walk across the pedestrian bridge to get to the arena as well as many great restaurants and pubs in downtown GR. There was also no charge for parking your vehicle. The staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful during our stay. It was snowing the morning of the graduation ceremony, so I asked the staff to get us a couple of cabs to drop us off at Van Andel and it only cost $3.50 per cab! I would definitely recommend this hotel if you need to stay in downtown GR. December 15, 2012

Not only were the staff friendly and extremely accomidating, The food on the resurant was absolutly amazing! The pool area was clean and the lobby as well. We will definitley be staying here agian in the upcoming years. My family and I had a great time! the location is amazing as well :) We had an issue and our toilet over flowed, the staff was there withing minutes.
