We were here for finalization of our adoption. The hotel is right next to a very busy, but entertaining shopping street for walking only. We found grocery stores and restaurants within 10-15 minute walk. Reception and porters were great and very nice. Our only negative is that they only had a buffet for breakfast/ lunch and dinner with no other restaurants. It was great food but pricey for every meal. The pool on the roof was beautiful.

Not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. You will become nobody right after you finished paying your bill.
I am Platinum member for 3rd years,member for 6 years.Regularly stay in this hotel for the past 4 year. This time is a real bad experience and very regret using the hotel. I was cheated with the parking fee. Bad manner staff. Bad service. Bellboy was on mobile chating, guest have to run in the rain to the car. Problems can not be solve even by the manager. Wasted our business time, doesn't serve our business trip purpose, business effected. As platinum member, I have everything upgrade but bad service, bad attitude staff. If such a well known hotel could not give good service, then what is the point paying to become Platinum Elite member. Isn't "good service" is heart for hotel services???????

Location is good for me,but no hotel shuttle bus between Guanzow east staion.
Room is clean and be able to escape from city bustlings.

酒店比较新， 而且房间也比较大， 早餐也不错， 服务挺好的。以后还会选择这家的， 当然也可以考虑另一家广州的假日酒店。

We have stayed at Holiday Inns all over the world on business trips, the Hotel itself is excellant as far as design with very large suit rooms, we stayed for three nights on the executive floor with the use of the executive lounge which was deserted most of the time, staff were very good and attentive plus most of them spoke English, room was very clean with all facilities you would expect, food was nothing special but eatable, the worst point of the hotel was the location, it is situated in a very poor part of the city and a long way from the centre, it took us an hour to travel there from the train station as the traffic is terrible as in most Chinese cities,its surrounded by lane houses and small shops, walking around the drains are very evident by the smell!
Its a pity as the hotel is excellant quality only as far as I am concerned in the wrong place, next time I will stay in the centre of Guangzhou.

In China, almost all the hotels provide free internet in the room.
I still wonder why Holiday Inn still not doing it. I do understand that it provide free wifi in the lobby. So does all other hotels.
I think it got to do with some international guide lines. But I think in tern of services they have to do what is provided locally. It does not reflect good on the hotel when all other hotels provide free in the room and Holiday Inn still charges.

Very helpful & friendly staff, highly recommended. 10 minutes walk to MTR/MRT where you can reach many locations in Guangzhou including the int'l airport.

The room and bathroom are big and comfortable.
The food in the lounge is very poor. Every day the same and even no egg, omelet availeble during the breackfast.
Even if we order an omelet, not possible.
I want to put one of the staff in the flowers.
It's Vanessa from the lounge. She is so nice and profecional for all the people in the lounge.
I booked the room long time before as a prepayed and non cancelation booking and when i checked the rate on the dag i arrived it was cheaper than the rate a pay. This can not.
Every time new staff. Thats not nice for the clients. Nobody stay long time in the hotel. Thats a pity.

The location is best for tourism and close to subway station. Service is good and professional. The only con for Canton fair is probably 45 - 60 minutes shuttle to Pazhou Expo. Overall it is a great stay.

This is a very clean hotel with a very friendly staff. The business center has some issues but nothing major. I have stayed here many times and will continue to stay here when I am in Guangzhou. It is time for a remodel/upgrade.

I absolutely love the location of this hotel. You will find yourself along the main shopping street, just a couple of steps away from the entrance of the hotel.
I stayed in the Deluxe room and it was very comfortable and spacious for 3 persons, without us having to elbow our way around each other. I would recommend this room for any triple-sharing guests.
Generally, I was greeted by very polite and helpful staff throughout my stay here in Holiday Inn Guangzhou Shifu and will definitely be back to stay again. Even though the room rates are rather expensive, the location makes this hotel a winner, in my eyes.

very hot in the room.not functionabe to control the room temperature.
Room price is higher than other hotel,but the service is not very well.

I will definitely be staying here again. I have had very bad experiences at other hotels near around, but the front desk and room service was very knowledgeable, and very polite. His customer service was excellent. Definitely an asset to the company.I am looking forwarding to visit again!

Hotel is quite new and room is big and comfort. Fast lifts.
the bad thing is that free Internet only provided in reception area, not in room.

The most delighting was the hotel allowed me to have late check out at 2pm on my last day of stay as I had to go out for business very early on that morning and had no time to pack my stuffs, this service really helped a lot.
Staff in restaurants were nice and polite.
However, more training will be needed for front desk staff. I was not able to make an IDD call with the phone near the bed, and I wanted to call the front desk for checking, unfortunately I couldn't connect to the front desk. I pressed another button which I was diverted to a staff and I told her the problem. What suprised me was she didn't want to fix my problem, instead she asked me if I was a package tour guest. When I said no, she just asked me to go to business center to make my call. I asked her why and then suddenly she felt panic and then transferred me to the front desk. I repeated my problem to the front desk and this time this lady asked me if I was aware that making a IDD call will incurr charges! I was a bit annoyed and replied yes, and then she transferred me to the operator, that finally I could make a call!

The price is reasonable. Service of the staffs are great and accomodating. Place is homy and clean. Big beds and clean sheets. Huge rooms and comfy. Over all I would recommend people and friends to stay here.

My experience was good housekeeping (honest & polite). "Great sound effect" from our neighbouring rooms. "Excellent" front desk officer who advised to go HK or Macau to change currency when Bank of China provides the service. I will share this with all my friends.

poor reservation and room arrangement.
I had reservation on executive room. I had confirmation e-mail.
But Holiday Inn employee arranged me to common room. He sent a short message to inform me. He said it is his staff mistake. All of the mesage, there is no one word " sorry". Just inform.
I asked the employee to explain. There is no conversation until now.
Before this I had another bad experience on Holiday Inn reservation department.
I do believe there are service problem in Guangzhou Holiday Inn department.

During my recent stay there, the room that i stayed was very noisy in the afternoon due to some minor renovation somewhere. Very disappointed that the staff never forewarn me.
No welcome fruit basked for me also.
The wifi use to be free here but no anymore.

This is a big city hotel that is pretty well worn, which is seen by the stains in the carpet and the mildew in the bathrooms. The overall state of the hotel not withstanding, I very was surprised at how inhospitable the staff was--not the norm in China where most hoteliers bend over backwards to please. The front desk workers were friendly, but the staff we met at the restaurant the lounge and other areas of the hotel were down right rude. It seemed like two different hotels, depending on who we met.
The location is fun--right in the middle of a huge pedestrian mall and next to some amazing food. In the end, however, I would have preferred a friendlier staff and a more welcoming attitude at another location. I spend ~150 nights a year in hotels, and I know there are better ones out there for the same price at great locations. As a result, I do not recommend this hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel for many years while in China on business and have always had a pleasant stay. The hotel is in a great place due to the walking street directly outside the hotel. The staff is great can never due enough to make your stay pleasant. As a platinum member i have always been reconized as one during check in. The hotel is in a area were it can hard to get a taxi.I am here quite often for business and would never look to stay elewhere

Very comfortable hotel, friendly staff, nice clean and spacious room and bathroom. The only thing that needs a little bit more attention is the quality of their room service menu (both in terms of variety and quality of food). Breakfast buffet is OK, but not over the top, I think a little more improvement is also needed in that department.
Other than that everything was perfect. This was my sixth stay in this hotel during the past two years and I will definitely stay there again the next time I am in Guangzhou.
