My stay at this hotel was part of a 20 day trip throughout China, where I had the opportunity to stay at HI Express, HI and Crowne Plaza. This one was by far the worst. The hotel seems old and requires and upgrade urgently to be at par with other HI properties. That being said, when I checked in my room, felt it was hot. So I lower the temperature and it did not work at all. I called front desk and they sent an "engineer" who came to "play" with the thermostat and said "OK" (he did not speak any English and I did not speak Chinese). I said "No OK", and he left. So I called the front desk again, and to my surprise they offered me an electrical fan. I refused and said please either fix the A/C or give me another room. After about 30 minutes, they changed us to a different room, where the A/C did not work as it was supposed to, but it was better than the previous one. After all this ordeal, we decided to go have diner. We arrived at 9:25 p.m. to the Chinese restaurant, and they told us they will close at 9:30 so they could not let us in. I´ve never heard of a restaurant in a hotel closing at 9:30 p.m. I love all the IHG brands and I usually go back and stay at the same hotels. Whenever I go back to Hangzhou, I will not stay at this one again for sure.

If a customer wanna stay with Holiday-Inn Express, then we will choose Holiday-Inn express.
The quality and services are downgraded, even though I was a long stay customer.
It's overall management issue, then causes the reset of the poor quality.
I may not chose Holiday-Inn HangZhou City Center next time.

The room décor is good and comfortable. The first room that I was allocated with had a weird odour. I then requested to change room and it was done rather smoothly. The lobby is quite grand, although there are lots of smokers in the lobby (customers, unavoidably). Staff in the reception are polite.
There is a spa /foot massage place in the basement, hence it is very convenient. The foot massage place is decent.
Food in the restaurant is so so and expensive.
The location of the hotel is very good and there are lots of nice, decent shops around, as well as a nice river/park nearby. The concierge is relatively polite/helpful, and helped me arrange a taxi in the afternoon (busy hours). The taxi driver (arranged by the hotel) was shockingly rude though, although this might be a general issue in China (women are generally given less respect than men in China, unfortunately).

I am sorry but I will no longer come back to your hotel. There were 4 major problems with my executive king room;
1. No wireless internet and the internet cables in the room are not USB and this is not workable for most modern computers. The staff at the front desk blame my computer for this problem. As a business traveler on a business floor with this type room there must be easy to use internet upon entering the room. I have this service at all other hotels I go to.
2. The room had odor of sewer waste coming from the bathroom every day and night. This was terrible and felt unclean.
3. My room # 2104 had a door with the wood a bit broken and I get wood small piece caught in my hand.
4. At breakfast buffet the cold milk always empty and need to wait till someone comes from the back to add two new containers of cold milk. The morning time is very tight and I do not have the time to waste on such a basic item as milk.

Our reservation was made through the hotel's travel partner. We were given the information at the time of booking that we would be able to choose from 2-beds/1-King bed and Smoking/Non-smoking rooms. However, at Check-in, the staff denied our option of having a King bed room. We insisted on our right to choose according to the offer on the travel partner's website. We were finally allocated an 'upgraded' (told by the check-in staff# Smoking room with a King-size bed, even though we asked for a Non-smoking room.
When we walked into the room, we found there was no much difference from the one we originally booked #comparing with the picture on travel parner's website#, in terms of the furnishing and room size.
We experienced third-hand smoke from the room's air-conditioning whole night for the first night, which made us hardly fall asleep because of coughing. We had to turn off the air-conditioning at the second night to get a better sleep.
P.S. Room Cleaning staff and Restaurants Staff are very nice and friendly.

经常住这家酒店了，地理位置特别的好 去哪里都方便，酒店后面还有一条东河，晚上散步感觉特别好。房间布置的很精致 床睡的好舒服哦 酒店还提供软硬枕头 很贴心的设计。强烈推荐这里三楼的扒房餐厅 典型的西式特色 价格也不太贵 而且是老外亲自做服务哦

check-in的， 大堂吧的， 早餐厅的工作人员态度较差， 感觉都想大爷似的。房间是给升级了， 但是是靠马路的， 窗子隔音太差。 Check out时还行， 送水果的阿姨是最好的。

This is the 10th time I have stayed at this Hotel over the last year with work..
I like the location as it is close to many restaurants... local and western, plus the Hotel has three very good restauransts.
yes getting a taxis can be hard at times, but this this the same in all of China and most countries around the World.
The porter staff always try to help as much as possible, but it is always better to pre book or use the Hotel car services.
The Exec lounge is nice and quiet with a good simple selction of food and drinks. Staff are friendly and always welcoming, so I keep coming back as it has become my home away from home

I took a taxi from hotel to airport when I leave hotel at 10:00 morning.
I felt strange as it is 30% higher than every time I taken from airport to hotel or hotel to airport. I have taken at least 50 time on this way.
I did not check or argue as I am cathing a fkight.
Afterward I found it charged higher than usual as there is a charge for waiting time from 07:50, until I got on this taxi on 10:00. But I did not book a taxi.
Is this a common arrangement between the taxi driver and your hotel?

the taxi service of hangzhou during afternoon is very bad. I make reserve the taxi , but it is still late to my train. I suggest hotel can supply shuttle bus to railway station during the afternoon, which is very attractive service to business man.

I never had a miserable time in Holiday Inn before. The staff especially one at the front desk are not guest friendly. They didnt sport a smile, not much of help for queries.
