We stayed in the Holiday Inn Harare three times (several nights each time) within one month. Staff is very friendly, but not everyone at the front desk is highly competent. We had to correct the room rate at each and every stay, otherwise we would have been overcharged (They gave us the rate that we had booked through the internet but neglected the weekend discount). Our main reason to choose this hotel was the availability of a business center, but although the lady running it was very friendly, their printers did not work most of the time. Breakfast was completely overprized (like many things in Zimbabwe), at 26 US$ when you include it in the booking and 22 US$ when paying on site. Therefore, we walked to another hotel near-by, where breakfast of the same quality was US$ 15 and the restaurant staff was more friendly. What disturbed us most is that even as a Priority Club Platinum member, you have to prepay everything, not only the room but also, e.g., breakfast and room service. The hotel has a generator, so the frequent power cuts are not a problem, except that the (good) Steakhouse on the ground floor is not connected to the generator and has to close in case of longer power cuts. We also experienced water being cut off by the City of Harare for half a day without prior announcement (or such announcement was not forwarded to the hotel guests); in this case, it took several hours until the hotel had water delivered by truck, but probably the Holiday Inn is not to blame for this. Overall, everyone makes an effort to keep the guests happy under the difficult conditions in Zimbabwe, but when we compare value for money, the outcome does not speak for this hotel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by couphee Will ventillated room with good space and very comfortable beds
The management and staff worked very hard on renovating the hotel to get the today's standards.
There is need to improve on room service and reception extension which are always congested and takes time for guest to get thru to them.
House keeping which closes during the night and open at 6am inconviniences guests who check very late and would want to check out early before they open. I suggest that they leave skeleton staff so as to retain all the clients when the Chinese hotel opens up.

I checked in at Holiday Inn in Harare for one night. Holiday Inn is my preferred stay when in Harare. Preference for me are rooms not facing the noisy Samora Machel Ave.
The only challenge l faced was that the credit card system was said to be donw, for at least 2 days. This caused me to use my cash which l had for otehr plans.
Besides, this setback, l still love Holiday Inn and will be staying there on my Harare visits.
