I travel for business throughout this area quite often and always enjoy my stay here. This location is always clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Thanks to the great service, I'll definitely be coming back. Front desk and restaurant/bar staff were exceptional. Everyone I encountered made me feel like they sincerely wanted to provide excellent service and make sure my stay was enjoyable. I travel a lot and I was super impressed

We stay at this location on a regular basis to experience performances at the JMU Forbes Center for the Performing Arts. This is a great location with friendly staff and clean/comfortable accommodations.

Tricky to find initially (the highway-visible sign is at the bottom of a long service road with many other hotel chain properties; the Holiday Inn is at the top nested behind most of the others and obscured from the road entrance). However, the desk staff helped walk us through getting there and was outstanding in getting us checked in.
The hotel itself is typical of most older properties; while the wallpaper and decor have been updated, there are definite signs of wear on the furniture and along the baseboards/tiles and occasionally in the ceiling. The public spaces - at least on casual inspection - seem more polished than the guest rooms. However, both feel well maintained and pleasant.
One downside is the limited snack/food options at a late hour. Again, like most older hotels, there were only a couple limited vending machines dispensing a small selection of canned beverages and snacks. With most Express/Residence and more modern hotel brands offering some sort of 24-hour 'marketplace' at the front desks, this seems very dated and the delivery options at the hour we arrived were practically nonexistent.
Finally, also typical of older hotels, there were very few usable outlets. A simple outlet bar on the desk would solve a lot of problems... On the positive side, one of the two nightstands did have a multi-outlet brick; however, that was about it for the room.

Staff was very helpful. We got an upgrade at no extra cost. Rooms were clean and very well decorated.

Front allotted me the points for Gold member and not Platinum. They did not seem to know I was a Platinum member and I did not have a Platinum card so let it slide. Thought they would know when they looked up my record but they did not seem to know. Other than that, everything was fine.

We arrived late in the evening and we were given a room quickly and efficiently. Our room was very clean, as was the common area/lobby. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning -- good portions, good quality, good service. We were grateful for a comfortable stay in Harrisonburg.
