Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Good hotel with friendly staff Usually stay about once a month at the Holiday Inn in Harrogate visiting family. Good location next to the International centre and 5 minutes walk from the town centre. Find the staff to be very friendly both at reception and in the bar. Breakfast opens at 630am midweek which is good for early starter's like me and is on the first floor. Car Park is large and underneath the hotel and like everywhere in Harrogate is a bit pricey! Hotel rates are a little higher than the smaller B&B's but they do various offers at different times of the year which narrow the difference. Having stayed at other hotels in the area I would say this is my preferred choice. Is part of a large chain but does try with personal touches to make guests feel welcome. Bar is well laid out and spacious with comfortable seating and is a good area to relax in. Betty's cafe, Vivido's Italian restaurant and Chez La Vie French restaurant are good dining places within 5-10 minutes walking distance. January 22, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Glad it was only one night We never expected much as we have not stayed in Holiday Inns for years and normally stay in much higher graded hotels however we were there for a exhibition. Rooms were wrong and had to argue with reception, room and bathroom was freezing, general feel of the place was like a concentration camp,no mini bar, restraunt and breakfast were disgusting one waitress was totally uninterested and clearley hated her job. We will never stay in another Holiday Inn again. January 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff great The main grumble is the lack of tea making facilities. At £3.25 for a latte is a bit steep and £14 for breakfast is crazy January 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent stay in comfortable hotel Stayed for 2 nights in January this year - good recognition as Priority Club Platinum member (upgrade to executive room), room was clean and comfortable and with excellent views out into the Yorkshire countryside. Hotel well located for me - right next to the Harrogate conference centre, only about 10 minutes walk to the railway station, less to the town centre with plenty of restaurant choices nearby if you don't fancy eating in the hotel. No air conditioning in the room was only minor flaw - fine at this time of year, but could be uncomfortable in the summer (although the window opened, and there was a fan in the wardrobe) January 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service We regularly stop at this hotel and always get great service. Rooms are clean and tidy. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Would recommend this hotel having stayed in others in town. January 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice hotel nice hotel but the restaurant food was very poor , wouldnt recommend it . January 8, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Happy New Year Spent a very enjoyable overnight stay with a great breakfast next morning. Comfortable room and good service throughout. Only drawback is the leisure facility offer is a car journey away. January 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Experience We visited Harogate in late December and stayed in the Holiday Inn.We have stayed here quite a few times and were not disappointed. Our room was comfortable and clean and the bed ensured a good nights sleep. All the employees we met were cheerful and helpful. Parking was reasonable - £5 a day, and the hotel is very central for wandering around the towwn. We did not eat here this time but previous visits showed the food to be fine. A very good hotel and we will return again for sure. January 7, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location The hotel is in an excellent location for the centre of Harrogate. It was quiet and clean. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows were not - even the 'soft' feather pillows were not very comfortable. The hotel was busy so the room was not cleaned until late afternoon which was a little disappointing - especially as we could have done with an afternoon rest. On the whole a very good hotel with very good facilities and friendly staff. January 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great Check In - Restaurant Needs Improvement Best welcome I have received in a hotel for ages, really friendly, helpful and efficient, very knowledgable. Same for check out - very friendly Room was nice, a few nice touches in the room Wardrobes were annoying - they face the wrong way (i.e. forward) and i know people probably steal them but i prefer hangers as opposed to the one with the hooks, The restaurant was very disorganised - we went to the bar about 12:45, it took a good 30 seconds to be acknowledged. The waitress was still trying to serve the previous customer so it was a bit confusing I asked for tapwater, it came out very cloudy and was told that was normal It then took 22 minutes for a ham and panini sandwich and a chicken caesar salad to come out There were about 3 tables waiting a long time for food The waitress did come over to ask if everything was ok which was a nice touch but was then told "it was my fault it took so long, because chicken always takes a long time to cook" which made me feel very small. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor value for money We booked an Executive room to have a larger bed and better facilities. The larger bed was fine, but nothing else in the room was above average. In particular the shower facility was poor, offering a weak stream of water that was unable to get far enough from the bathroom wall. The hand grab for the bath came away from the wall as it was not properly fixed. The breakfast buffet was barely adequate with many items needing to be replenished. The table we were assigned was unstable and too near a service station. January 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Bed, Clean Room Overnight stay in Harrogate at Holiday Inn. Room Clean and Giant Bed! Made for good night's sleep. Left some Christmas Presents in room and contacted hotel when got home. "No problem" they said, "we'll post them to your home address"-arrived two days later. Well Done Holiday Inn!! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Service the service in the dining area was great. The service in the lobby not so good. I had no idea the breakfast was included in the price and the lady when i check in was not friendly. December 13, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Unexpected upgrade Stayed at the Holiday Inn Harrogate 05/12 to 07/12 (2nights) having booked a standard double room we were pleasantly surprised to find we had been allocated an executive room ( with complementary water, slippers and dressing gowns) - this may have been because a number of conferences were taking place during our visit - but who knows or cares- we were delighted to have been treated with such consideration! Reception staff were attentive and welcoming, bar staff later in the evening were exceptional , given the 'jolly' state of a couple of the delegates we witnessed The room was warm and comfortable, towels changed even though we had not requested that they be and a good quality flat screen TV with Freeview was also provided. Would be happy to recommend Holiday Inn @ Harrogate for a comfortable short stay when visiting the town - easy to find, parking reasonably priced and safe and staff very welcoming. Breakfast very good too. December 12, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ran out of Tea Overall a great experience, but its the first time I've been to a hotel where the resaurant ran out of tea at breakfast. I drew this to the attention of the resaurant manager, a long wait ensued, a queue formed, and then another member of staff arrived with 4 small boxes of tea bags and threw them on the counter unopened. Not impressed. December 8, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pre Christmas break Booked this hotel as we have always liked the look of it but had never stayed. We were not disappointed, this hotel is clean, comfortable and very welcoming. Breakfast was lovely. We were in an exec room which was very spacious, on the 9th floor, the view was fantastic! We would have liked a bit more information re amenities at check in! December 7, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Recent visit 1) The young lady that checked us in, answered all our questions, and finally signed us out was excellent. 2) the Hotel reached the standard I expect from a quality Hotel. 3) All members of staff encountered during our stay were very polite and efficient in their duties. 4) Only negative comment I have is the lack of adequate space in the underground car park for any vehicle larger than a Bubble car. Though this is a construction problem not really a Hotel management issue. December 6, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable hotel with friendly service. An enjoyable 2 night stay. Comfortable room and excellent food. A big thank you for returning an item we left in the room. They went the extra mile. November 30, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor front-desk staff Much was good about this hotel but the overall experience was spoilt by front-desk staff who appeared unable to deal with anything out of the ordinary. The problems started on check-in when the receptionist appeared unaware of the type of room booked or of my Priority Club status. The next problem arose when I needed to secure items in the hotel safe. This, theoretically, simple task took over 15 minutes. Finally, the barriers on the hotel car-park jammed and the staff rushed around like headless chickens while the queue of cars hoping to exit the car park, built-up. Finally a resident managed to manually raise the bar which allowed the guests to escape after a 20 minute delay - while the staff were still wondering what to do. November 30, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Helpful staff Very comfortable room, and the heating worked when we needed it on a cold November evening. Room service was very good and the chips were extremely good! Staff were very helpful with our various queries. We were disappointed that breakfast was not included - the website should make this clear when booking, but it was useful to be able to park and leave our car securely during our stay, cheaper than the other car parks in the town. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Room and Comfort great central location, staff attention in many areas was found to be very good, especially at reception, however the quality of service in the restraurant was very poor although the food was acceptable. It was felt that this may due to staff shortage and/or lack of training. The expensive internet service must be aimed at business people making it unsuitable for others. The car park charge is accectable but the available space is very poor and difficult for medium sized cars. We had a very pleasant stay and will return again. Ed from Houston. November 29, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyable Stay My daughter and I stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights as we were visiting the Knitting and Stitching Exhibition. When we arrived we were greeted by staff who were very courteous and efficient. We unfortunately had been given a double bedded room where I had booked a twin but this was sorted out very quickly and we were given another room. When we had dinner on the first night we had rather a long time to wait between courses but when they did bring the main course we got firstly an apology - which nowadays is very rare and a complimentary drink. The meal itself was very good. All in all our stay was very good and would go back there again if visiting Harrogate. November 29, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff and comfortable room we had a very enjoyable stay room was Clean and comfortable. staff were very professional and breakfast was very good.We have stayed in Harrogate 4times and this was the best of all the Hotels. November 21, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location but poor housekeeping Ideal central location, good sized rooms and value for money meals. The abrupt attitude of reception staff was disappointing but this was up more than made up for by the high quality and friendliness of service offered by the restaurant staff. The housekeeping was less than ideal; on one occasion towels that we had placed on the floor for changing were returned to the rail. During our 4-night stay the carpet was not hovered. In addition, our room was not serviced until late afternoon each day which meant we could not “sit back and relax” until after 4:30pm. Not a problem had we been on business or staying just one night. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great value Stay on seasonal offer every 3 months while visiting dentist in Knaresborough. Great value and good accomodation. Breakfasts excellent. Staff friendly and efficient. Appreciate added touches, spring water and chocolates, Great central position for town and lovely walk to Harlow Carr , where we have lunch at Bettys. November 14, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Would recommend Lovely big bed and room facilities were good. Very close to town centre so excellent access. Parking was good and secure and very good value for money when staying at Holiday Inn. November 14, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Harrogate Our stay was very good. The staff were very helpful and informative when we asked about good restaurants. Our only gripe is the poor quality of choice when using the television. In this day and age it is common place to have more than just terrestrial channels. November 14, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A non stay Having booked a double room online well in advance of our planned stay we were extremely disappointed to arrive at the check in only to be told there were no double rooms available, only a twin. Alternative accommodation was found at The Majestic. I know where I will stay next time I visit Harrogate. November 3, 2012
