Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by uncertainly Nice room, with newly upgraded bathroom ,but without towel rail ,no toilet roll holder .Toilet rolls placed next to wash basin!! not a nice idea when one toilet roll was well used More to come on returning to room at 21 -30 hrs there was no cold water.We ran the tap for several minutes with no success,,had to use our bottled cold water to clean our teeth. At 06_45 next morning water still red hot and again no cold water, telephoned reception for some cold water. Following further dissatisfactions we where informed that we would be offered another room when we returned in the evening. After a very difficult day visiting very sick relatives, returning to start changing rooms was far from what you wanted. On returning to our first room after breakfast our room had been done in a fashion of which was not of a good standard and I brought this to the attention of the House Manager All issues where addressed but it is not what you really need. Good selection of food to back it up. :) The need for new bigger chairs in the bar area need to be looked at as they are two small at the back and are un-comfortable The rooms are always clean warm and tidy on every visit that I have been on Well Done Holiday Inn Haydock to all staff . :) :) October 4, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good example of UK Holiday Inns We were travelling mainly on family matters in St Helens. This hotel was excellent as a base for our 2-day stop. Very easy access (after the M6!) and good parking arrangements with decent-sized bays clearly marked. Reception and check-in was very efficient and friendly. Our Priority Club membership was recognised and we got vouchers for the WiFi. I'm probably spoiled at work and home but the WiFi/ internet access did not seem fast but was pretty consistent with devices recognised on next access. Room was to usual standard; bed VERY comfortable and heating worked well. We felt the shower-room toilet was just a bot too tight and the shower cubicle barely adequate (the 2/3rds glass screen does not stop splashes!) We only used catering for breakfast and this was OK with a good choice of most items (but not bread products - brown or white sliced only!) Overall a satisfactory stay and we would certainly use this hotel again when in the neighbourhood. September 25, 2015
