The hotel is in a very questionable area and was suggested we do not venture out in the neighborhood at night. Thanks for the tip. We took shuttle into Time Square and return to hotel at night. Omar[More]
was very nice. The rooms initially appeared very clean until we found numerous ants in my son's bedding on pull-out couch. Unfortunately we found out on the morning of departure. My son slept two nights on that couch. Poor kid. We were reimbursed one night stay. The breakfast was satisfying and save us some money feeding three large teenage boys. Good start of the day. The entire staff at the hotel were great and very attentive. Everything was fine until the final morning. I am sure they will resolve this issue. Do not use the bedding from within the closet. I think that this is where the problem originated but can't be sure. [Less]
I was pleased right from the start. My phone reservation was easy and very informative. I was given the opportunity to join the rewards program and given a discount for having AAA.

the Hotel check in was easy and fast. They were completely ready for us. The room was perfect. Clean, beautiful and spacious. Loved the modern look of everything. TV was perfect, all the plugs for electronic devices were handy and right by the bed for easy access.
The bathroom was extremely clean.
The bed was so comfortable and felt even better than our own bed. I could not believe how clean everything was and felt. There was no "dirty comforter" over the bed. You could tell that everything was fresh for each new person arriving. (You know that other hotels that have comforters on the beds are not cleaned from person to person.
Honestly I must say that I have never felt so good about a stay in a hotel as I did that this one. Too bad we only stayed one night.
Breakfast was wonderful, there was something there for everyone. I did not expect so much of a variety to choose form. Everything was fresh and hot.
You can tell this place is run by good management and staff that really cares.
Thank you Holiday Inn Express

1. Asked for a place to recycle our plastic bottles at the front desk. The staff person said they do not have special containers, but we could just put it in "that bin" and they would take care of[More]
it. It was a trash can, and obviously would not be recycled. It's bad enough not to have this, but then to lie and say it would be "taken care of' was inappropriate.
2. The bathroom was VERY outdated, the paint peeling, the equipment (commode and shower) old, a real turn-off. The rest of the room was quite pleasant.
3. We had asked for a "high floor" and were placed on the 3rd floor. It was only for 1 night, so we did not bother to change.
4. having a feather pillow or 2 in the closet would be nice for those that do not like the small plump firm pillows. [Less]
