If you don't pretend to stay in the heart of the city, Holiday Inn West Ruoholahti is definitely your best choice.
It takes just a few minutes to come to Metro station. You you spend about 6-10 minutes in half-empty train to get to Kamppi or to Helsinki Univercity which means real Center of the city.
Hotel offers its own underground parking (23 euro/24 hrs) and as far as I understood free in/out option is guaranteed. However be aware that this parking is small and your space is not kept for your car when you leave it. First come - first served. Therefore I left my car for three days down there and used Metro and taxis.
Being the Spire Elite Ambassador I was welcomed pretty warm. All registration papers were ready and it took just a couple of minutes to be accommodated. I had been not given a free room-upgrade due to full hotel occupancy but my room 831 was clean, comfortable and facing the Bay. Fruit basket, free use of mini bar (non-alcoholic beverages only) and free Pay-TV were offered in recognition of my Spire Elite status.
Breakfast was very good. Always! A little bit crowdy but with large choise of tasty food and drinks.
Front Desk girls were always very polite and helpful in any issue we needed. Transportation advices, taxi orders, restaurants recommendations - everything was quick, efficient and really worthwhile.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Attending a Conference Comfortable hotel for my purposes
Good, clean hotel, but bathroom should be freshened up, especially the skirting boards that were badly worn by water (mopping, shower). No lunch on Sunday and room service has an extra 10 Euro surcharge. Very steep. Breakfast should start before 8 as many of us are on conferences in town and need to be up early. Big tourist groups all pile in at 8, so no way to enjoy a relaxing breakfast on Sunday morning before going to conference.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Heikki52 Good room, but other services were not that good
The 9th floor room was clean, nice and comfortable. The worst problem were long queues to lifts. It took more than 5 minutes to get down from 9th floor on the morning. Another a bit annoying thing was the chaotic atmosphere at breakfast which might be due to several groups that created 30 minutes rush hour in the breakfast room. The price level in the lobby bar was much higher than in any other hotel in Helsinki I have been staying.
