Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overnight stay following cruise We stayed here for 1 night following a 7-night Caribbean cruise. It is a nice hotel- beautiful swimming pool and lounging area. They also have a bar and outside BBQ and offer combos for lunch meals which is nice. Rooms are spacious, and hallways are wide which is nice. We found it was very quiet as well. I called to ask the manager to reimburse me for my aeroplan points- I am still waiting for a call back. Front desk staff was ok- they did let us keep out luggage in the back room while we shopped as our room wasn't ready. Unfortunately their free shuttle to/from the airport don't start until 5am so we had to pay for a cab which cost us $21.00 Canadian funds. February 27, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to usual HI standards My family of 5 occupied a Junior Suite consisting of two double beds and a convertible couch. When we arrived in the room there were only three towels for five people and three (count-em) tissues in the tissue box. One small shampoo. The blanket for the sofa bed had large holes in it. We had to call housekeeping to get some towels and a full box of tissues. Our room was cleaned the following day at 6PM. The holy blanket was removed (not sure why) and not replaced. The waste baskets were emptied but the plastic bags were not replaced. We called for a blanket for the sofa bed and a half hour later received another holy blanket (it was a drafty if religious experience). The towel rack in the bathroom was broken and hanging loose from the wall. The air conditioner was extremely loud and cycled between way to hot and sweaty to freezing. Sleep was difficult. The pedals on the elliptical device in the exercise room were so worn down, that one could actually see the floor through them. I mentioned my concerns to the manager on check out and he said he would look into it. The pool is very nice. February 26, 2014

Pool area was like an oasis, water was warm and very clean. The hotel leisure area didn't feel crowded. Food was very good, service was rather slow but worth the wait. We will definitely stay at this hotel prior to our next cruise. February 16, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 One Night Stay We stayed here just 1 night before our cruise. Shawn the manager was great! Super funny and friendly. Rooms were ready early. Great pool, nice, big rooms and bathrooms. Comfy beds. Very clean, great restaurant, big portions and really good food. We had their dinner and breakfast. $10 fee for shuttle to port, very good deal and very organized. Would stay here again for sure. February 1, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Front Desk I checked in late that night 12:30am, I had to wait at the front desk for a good 5 minutes before i started to say "Hello is anyone here" before some acknowledged I was there. My stay was for 2 days the following day i had to check out early to be at my next job the next day, I went to check out and the gentlemen behind the counter acted as if I was bothering him, I asked for a receipt for my expense report I have to fill out and was told "since you are leaving before your stay ended I can not print you a receipt". I then asked can you email it to me please, I wrote my email down and a week later still no email. I called the front desk today and there was never an email noted down or sent. I gave my email again and was told I will email it to you today when I get around to it. My stay was Jan 21-23. Checked out early on the 22nd.. January 27, 2014

Nice swimming pool, and rooms. Not much to do around the hotel, closest shopping mall is about a mile away. Only Denny's and McDonalds are restaurants in walking distance. January 22, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not what we were expecting We stayed here for one night prior to going on our cruise. The room was clean. However, it was a little shabby for what we paid and the hallways were extremely hot. We are in our mid 30s and were looking for somewhere to go out and have some fun for the night. The front desk staff was not only not able to help us with locations of places to go, but, they were very unpleasant to deal with. The pool was not as nice as pictured and that was a big disappointment. The shuttle driver from the airport was very pleasant and the manager of this Holiday Inn was also very nice. He did offer some free drinks at the bar after our experience with the front desk on two occasions that day. January 16, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Be cautious of what is included in your rates. Hotel was convenient to get to and took 20 minutes to reach airport from this hotel with their shuttle service. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Hotel prices were extremely high in January compared to a previous rate in December. We were told January is top season and rates must be higher. Other hotels were much better priced in area. We would like to have had dinner at the hotel but the prices and menu were out of line for this area. Much too high. We were told we had breakfast included with our stay. However, we had to pay $12.95 each for a very small amount of food, coffee, a muffin and and a couple of pieces of bacon which we were told were complimentary by front desk when we checked in. However, counter staff was adament about insisting we had to pay for the breakfast, Paying $27.00 for a mediocre buffet was outrageous and the way the staff insisted on paying the assumed complimentary breakfast was very poor customer relations. Because of this I will not ever stay at this hotel when on our next cruise an will very cautious about deciding whether to stay at the costs and what is included at any other Holiday Inn. We are not complainers, just astounded at how people at rthe desk can not honor a deal made. January 9, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Luggage carts Upon arrival with 16 pieces of luggage (we had 7 guests travelling with us) I inquired at the desk for a luggage cart to assist us in taking the luggage to our room. There were no carts available and was told that guests that were already checked in probably have the carts in their rooms. About an hour later, guests that were taking cruises came to the lobby with their luggage and on the carts. I asked the hotel receptionist if they could ask the guests to unload the carts and they would not ask them so our party had to wait until the shuttle for these guests came to take them to the ship pier, this was another hour later that we waited for carts. I suggest that carts should be checked out with the understanding that they need to be unloaded and returned to the lobby and if they were not returned the receptionist could call their rooms asking for their return for the next guests use. Everything else was acceptable, but this created a huge problem for us that had just got off our ship and were waiting to relax in our room. January 2, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Near Ft. Lauderdale Airport, Great Pool, Clean Rooms This hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport. There is a free shuttle service but it can be infrequent. It is advisable to call the hotel to let them know you have arrived and they will tell you how long it will be until the next shuttle pick up. Let them know in which terminal you have arrived. There is a MacDonalds and Denny's across the street from the hotel. There is also a cinema about 20 minutes away on foot. The rooms are quiet and clean. One can breakfast poolside or inside. Dinner is also offered. The pool is the Hotel's best feature. Kidney shaped, it is surrounded by manicured tropical trees and plants and also sports a fun waterfall. There is also a small but good and hot jacuzzi. January 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by fulfilled all our needs we wanted to get tickets for a concert at Hard Rock and almost did not go because every hotel we checked on was way too expensive for one quick night's stay a few days before New Year's Eve. Then I found this HI; it was priced right and only 10 minutes from Hard Rock and right off I-95. Perfect! Room was comfortable and clean, breakfast was good (and included with the room); we will definitely stay there again. January 1, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great pool Stayed here with family after cruise. Close to airport with complimentary shuttle that started at 530am. Room was average but clean. Furniture was marginally functional. All the drawers in dresser were broken. Room had a fridge and microwave. Restaurant was pricey for dinner but food was good. Pool was the best part. Large with plenty of seating and relaxing setting. Kids loved the pool, it was also heated and there was a hot tub.McDs and Denny's across the street. Bed was comfortable December 31, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Stay away! The clerk at the desk " up graded" our room to an "Executive Suite overlooking the pool". Well, the room did not overlook the pool. It overlooked the trash compactor. Need I say it was not well recieved to be waken up at 4:35 AM by the trash trucks back up alarm! I would hate to see what our inital room would have been like ! This is an old hotel which needs to be updated. They put a king bed in a room that was way too small. No more than two feet between the end of the bed and the wall and it was right in front of the bathroom door! And you could not close the bathroom door either. The closet had two doors that should have swung out into the room but the door on the left was permanetly fixed closed? In addition the room had way too much furniture in it. I guess they were trying to make a suite out of a large closet. This place is substandard to any other HI I have stayed at. The desk staff were not very friendly either. The breakfast buffet was good and the waite staff was excellent. December 24, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Uncaring Staff We were stranded in South Florida on December 8, 2013 due to a massive ice storm that hit the Dallas/Fort Worth area so we decided to make the best of the situation and see the area. I called to make a reservation from the airport. I identified myself as a Gold Elite member. The girl on the phone made no effort to welcome me or anything. We left the hotel property the first morning around 10:30 am to go sightseeing. When we returned around 3:30 pm for our sight seeing our room was not cleaned, but the maid was in the room across the hall. We figured our room would be next so we changed and went to the pool. Upon returning to the room at 5:00 pm the room still had not been touched. I went to the front desk to complain. I spoke to a manager and told her our story. She left to contact the house cleaning staff and came back and said there were 2 maids cleaning the room now. I told her 5:00 pm is to late and it was holding us up from our evening plans. She said she was sorry, but it was not sincere, and she left. I returned to the room and waited in the hall while the room was being cleaned. One of the maids kept trying to provoke me by saying are you mad Bobby? Who is Bobby? That is not my name. I refused to say a word to her. The next day our flight left in the early evening and at 7:30 am requested a late check out. The person working the front desk acted like it was a big inconvenience to grant the late check out, but finally got it. Usually as a Gold Elite member it is not a problem getting late check out if requested early enough. This property is very nice, but the workers do not make it feel like a welcome place to stay, especially someone who stays at IHG properties enough to earn Gold Elite status. December 13, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable bed i did not stay at holiday inn at 2905 sheridan street because of family problem, although i stayed in above inn several times before. i called the manager"shaun" twice and told him of circumstances, but he declined to help me out of this jam. i understand the policy of nonrefundable funds ,but asked him if he could honor this fund for my next trip to hollywood january 2014,but he still refused. i am happy with the accommodations and i will try to stay in your hotel in future. have a nice holidays and merry christmas. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff We had a two night stay here on a recent trip to Ft. Lauderdale. The front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming...makes you feel that they are happy that you came. Check-in was quick and easy and they called shortly after to see that everything was OK. The room was comfortable and the bed was fine...not too soft and not too hard. A bed table lamp bulb went out and I called the front desk to see if I could just go down and pick up a new one. Instead they said that they would send someone up and within 5 minutes maintenance arrived and took care of it. Great service! A nice patio is in the back of the hotel. There is ample parking. A relative negative was the pricey continental breakfast with extra charge for orange juice. On balance, this is a nice, no frills hotel with good value for the cost. We recommend it and would certainly stay here again. November 22, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty place without comfort A leaking problem was in the toilet, so sleep was quite difficult since a was able to hear each drop falling. Also, in the area of breakfast buffet a "little" incident happened with the candles that keep the food warm, that finished in fire which was extinguished, but the employees did not seemed concerned about it. Actually the food was not removed.... . When I tried to report it the lady at the front desk was not kind at all. She said that the manager will call me, and that never happened. November 19, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent staff At the airport I found out that my luggage didn't arrive on the same flight as I did. It would arrive on the next flight around midnight and be delivered early in the morning at the hotel. The staff at the hotel took care of everything. They provided me with the things I needed for the first night and when my luggage arrived (while I already checked out), they kept it for me so I could pick it up later. Great service! The room was great and the bed was very comfortable, but it was very noisy outside. November 15, 2013
