Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Dirty sheets This is the first time I've ever written a review about any hotel I've ever stayed in and I'm a business traveler so I'm at a lot of hotels. Everything was great at the Holiday Inn Hoover except when I went to go to bed my sheets did not look clean, there was a stain on the bottom sheet. I called the front desk and was told that housekeeping had gone home but I could come down and get sheets and change them myself. The woman at the desk said she could not leave the desk but there were two women at the desk when I went down. At first I was only given a bottom sheet and I told her I also wanted a top sheet. She had to look for the top sheet but finally found one and gave it to me. As a Platinum Priority Club member I was surprised that I was asked to change my own sheets. December 8, 2013

I stayed at this hotel because it was significantly less expensive than the hotel at which the conference was being held. The drive to the conference hotel was very short, so location was just right. The best part of the hotel was the lovely view of the river in back of the hotel. Nice surprise! December 3, 2013

The staff here is second to none, from food services to guest services. Condelay, Gerold, Mindie and the front desk manager just to name a few they all go beyond and above to make your stay one to remember.Did I not say that house keeping make you feel and rest like you are right at home. Last but not least the general manager alone with his leadership team set the bar on hospitality at it finest. Overall I love staying at this location. November 19, 2013

We ate and the food was good, the room was nicely furnished and I love the huge shower I had in my room. Will continue to stay here for business and pleasure. It had been a few months since my last visit and Ashley greeted me by name and provided EXCELLENT service. I'm sure she has met a lot of people since my last visit and remembering me made me feel very welcome. I cannot say enough good things about Christi! She anticipates your needs before you even ask (or don't ask#. This level of service I haven't encountered anywhere. She is the one of the best! Cinthia #Renae) is wonderful. She is engaged in her job. You don't see many people these days that are that happy with their job and make certain that as a guest that I am happy. Its quite obvious that this property does a GREAT job. While I was there, I recognized many guests who had stayed their previously. People go where they will be happy. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cleanliness Overall clean room. However, look under the TV table in room 302. You'll see the table has not been moved in some time, as dust is pretty thick. Staff excellent!!! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good Holiday Inn I travel a lot and stay at plenty of IHG properties. Holiday Inns are usually a hit and miss with me. There are some that are older properties that are in dire need of a remodel. However, this hotel is great. A new modern hotel with an excellent check in area and restaurant. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional Stay Everything worked perfectly. There was even a computer problem at the lounge that evening. Rather than inconvenience me it was on the house. That is what I call first class service. The dollar is not everything and sometimes it is best to give up the dollar in order to maintain service. I do wish more people would see and apply that to everyday details. This location certainly did!! October 6, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by to much noise The first night stay was very bad. After a long drive to get there, a two and a half week stay at a hospital ICU with a relative we were in no mood to party . An event at the hotel that started after we checked in left us without parking for three hours and high noise levels till midnight. We could have been warned beforehand to have a chance to change rooms or stay at another hotel. We were stressed and in need of a good nights rest instead we had to stay away due to no parking and high noise levels till late at night. Give me a break! August 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Rooms A bit pricey. I understand the conserve water thing. I'm totally down with reusing my towels and not changing the sheets. I'm there for three days, I don't need 3 new sets of sheets or towels... But the cleaning ladies come in, make the bed and refill uses toiletries and empty trash. Maybe I am mistaken but I thought they were supposed to overall clean the room. I.e what was stated above... and quick dust, quick vacuum and put remote, TV list and Welcome Binder back into place. Staff was very nice and friendly, the hotel was clean and open, very well air-conditioned (can't tell it's humid outside until you are outside) and it is in a prime location for shopping and easy access to downtown Birmingham. I recommend Tortuga's Pizza (bring your appetite but be prepared to wait 45 mins for your pizza, you won't be disappointed), and Logan's Roadhouse. August 21, 2013

Many of those have been the big name high priced hotels and this one is as good if not better than any of the others that charge large rates just because of their name. The staff was very accommodating for letting us check in a little early due our game scheduling. I enjoyed breakfast as well, but the breakfast area attendant wasn't as overly friendly as the other associates I encountered. Everything about this hotel was great until the second day our housekeeper did not clean the hot tube that I requested for her to do. Therefore I had to call down stairs to the front desk twice to get them to send someone up to clean the hot tube. After waiting 2hrs no one came. So I went down stair to speak with the front desk to ask why no one from housekeeping had not came to clean the tube. So the lady at the front desk call housekeeping again. I waited again for 1hr no housekeeper by that time I had to leave the room for awhile, as I was leaving I inform the front desk that I still had not seen the housekeeper. So when I return from shopping I notice they still had not clean this hot tube. By that time I was smoking mad, because I did not fill I had to get to this point to get someone to come and clean this tube. So I call down to front desk and inform her that if they would give me the clean stuff I would clean it myself. By that time someone from housekeeping shows up. Now why did it take me saying I would clean this tube to get someone from housekeeping to clean it. I felt that they should have wave one of those night for us. July 28, 2013

Staff went out of their way to accommodate us- allowing us to store our 2 bikes inside overnight. Disappointed in not recognizing priority club membership. Also had to ask for internet code, they did not offer this information upon arrival. July 15, 2013
