Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Weekend stay this was Holiday Inn was gorgeous. It is only about a year old and in very good shape and very close to everything. We messed up our room cards and the front desk had it fixed within seconds. The only thing I did not like was the breakfast was not free, but I think we may have read it wrong when we booked it. Would definitely stay here again. April 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service! The Southern Regional Volleyball Tournament, recently held in Birmingham, drew several teams to this hotel. Our team had an early play time on Saturday and hotel management made sure the restaurant opened early for us. As luck would have it, we ended up with an early play time on Sunday as well, and Blair arranged for the staff to arrive early once again for the teams. Kudos to the breakfast staff (cooks and servers)! The rooms were comfortable and we all had a great stay! Thanks! April 17, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not my favorite This inn was a disappointment. We arrived to find that they were hosting a motorcyclists' convention. The motorcyclists themselves were agreeable persons, but management allowed them to park their cycles under the canopy making it difficult for autos to load and unload under the canopy. Management also allowed non-handicapped people to use the handicapped reserved parking spaces since the parking lot was very crowded. This made it difficult for handicapped guests. The desk clerk invited us to a complimentary manager's reception which we attended. There were several guests at the bar, but no attendant. We waited for over 10 minutes for service before we eventually gave up and left. The desk clerk also implied, or least we believed she implied, that the breakfast buffet was also complimentary. There was no menu board indicating otherwise or any other indication that this was not the case. We were surprised with a check for the buffet, which was only average and significantly overpriced. On the good side, the facility is very nice, the location is good, and the staff was helpful. April 4, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thank you Holiday Inn Hoover I usually do not write reviews, as you can see I am a little late. But I was in town visiting family and we had 2 rooms at this hotel. I can say that it was one of the best hotel stays I had ever had. The employees were fast, funny and remembered our names when we left the next morning, The coffee in the lobby was a nice suprise as we did not have time to sit and eat breakfast. The hotel was 2 years old, but still looks brand new. March 19, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by not so happy about it I use to be a regular customer of the Holiday Inn Homewood, but they started to do not clean the room by putting the sign in the door, I usually stay in the hotel room until 10 or 11 Am working from there, it seems that this location is taking the same practice, I did not mentioned to the manager because I was in a rush the next day, but probably I should start to look for another hotel brand March 12, 2013

Our breakfast was hot, fresh and delicious; the blueberry pancakes were almost more blueberry than pancake and they were wonderful. The room was comfortable and well-lit. Overall a great property. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Staff and Good Downtown Location The staff was great and very knowledgable, giving directions to local restaurants and always greeting you. As always, the morning breakfast was good. The hotel was under construction but I didn't notice much noise and I stayed on the 1st floor. As a platinum member, I was upgraded to a suite. The only downside was the bed. The sheets was hard and worn out and the mattress was very firm. Anyone who frequents HI Express' know that it's all about the bed. Only disappointment, but I still had a good night's sleep. Thanks! January 24, 2013

Only problem was that the Wi-Fi login changed during the middle of the night and had to call the front desk at 5AM to get a new code. Was told it changed automatically. 10-12AM would be a good time for this change. December 15, 2012

I WAS CHARGED WITH A NITE'S STAY THAT THEY SAID I NO SHOWED ON AND I DID NOT MAKE A RESERVATION AND NOT SHOW UP. SO I HAD TO GO CANCEL ALL OF MY CREDIT CARDS AND NOW WATCH FOR OTHER IDENTITY THEFT. ALSO THERE WAS A FUNCTION GOING ON AND MY ROOM WAS ON THE 2ND FLOOR AND THE LOUD MUSIC MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GO TO SLEEP. THE LADY AT THE FRONT DESK WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND ACCOMODATING. I HAD A VERY EARLY FLIGHT SO AT 9:30 I WANTED TO GO TO SLEEP. SHE DID COMPENSATE ME FOR ONE NIGHT'S STAY AND THAT WAS VERY NICE. SHE WOULD NEVER HAVE PUT ME ON THE 2ND FLOOR IF MANAGEMENT HAD GIVEN THEM NOTICE THAT A FUNCTION WOULD BE GOING ON, SO I BLAME THE MANAGEMENT FOR NOT INFORMING THEIR FRONT DESK STAFF OF SUCH. THIS WAS THE 2ND OR 3RD TIME I HAD STAYED AT THAT HOTEL, BUT NOW I AM VERY WEARY TO STAY THERE AGAIN NOT KNOWING WHO USED MY CREDIT CARD FOR UNAUTHORIZED PURCHASES. I CALLED THE HOTEL BACK TO CANCEL THE ONE CHARGE THEY SAID WAS A NO SHOW FEE, HAD TO LEAVE A MESSAGE AND NEVER GOT A CALL BACK, SO NOW I AM VERY CONCERNED AND DISAPPOINTED IN THEIR MANAGEMENT. BY THE WAY MY CARD WAS NEVER ONCE OUT OF POSSESSION, EVER! December 7, 2012

Our room didn't have an iron so we called the front desk and they brought one to us immediately. The hotel was close to the Galleria Mall which was perfect for our shopping trip.
