I was shocked at this Holiday Inn. From the first encounter to the last, the staff was either apathetic or downright hostile, the hotel itself looked and felt like a 2-star or worse hotel, and I heard a screaming fight going on in the next room that made me fearful some kind of drug conflict was going on.
This is really a crummy hotel - old, dingy, dark, thin walls - and the staff flat out lied to me about the shuttle service (as confirmed by the shuttle driver).
Holiday Inn needs to decommission this one or re-do it.
Again, I was truly shocked.

I enjoyed the three nights I stayed, Overall the place was clean and the staff welcoming. The "Good Eats" facility was very good. My only complaint would be the limited snack and berverages available, I had to go to three vending machines for a drink before I found one that worked.

I stayed here for 5 nights for business. The hallways are so long they reminded me of the hotel in the movie "The Shining". Didn't understand that after walking the length of the building and turning the corner that i would have to walk up stairs (only 4) to get to my room. That's a huge inconvenience after lugging your luggage the whole side of a building.
The first day i posted the do not disturb sign on my door. I returned to my room to discover housekeeping had entered and "cleaned" my room anyway. My 3rd morning at the hotel, I was looking for something and looked under my bed to discover a pair of children's underwear underneath my bed. I discovered other trash underneath the other bed in my room. The only other problem i had was that in my room i constantly felt as if i was being eaten by bugs.

I travel apx 60% of the time with my job and frequent Houston quite often. The staff at the Holiday Inn Houston-Intercontinental Arpt is without a doubt one of the best around! They are friendly, call me by name and welcome me with each visit. I checked in on Sunday and your security staff was thoughtful enough to bring me the luggage cart... brought it to my vehicle to help me transport my luggage in to the hotel! I've never been treated to such courtesy! Thanks for a GREAT place to stay and sure appreciate your staff making me feel at home...when I'm away from home!

Room 515 was great. Spacious. Firm mattress. Choice of hard or soft pillows. Guest bag for Priority Club member on check in with bottled water, cookies, peanuts. Outstanding breakfast. Minor glitch: Towel hook on back of bathroom door had been pulled off, leaving a hole. No refrigerator although one was requested in advance. Walls a little thin. Could hear neighbor's TV.

Only average for a Holiday Inn. Old and it shows. Only redeeming value is that it is close to the airport.
Internet was lousy to poor, but at least I could get e-mail.
The restaurant was a little better but slow service.
Next time, I'll look at alternatives.

our rooms have been reserved for a few days before arrival at the hotel, upon check in there are no rooms available because the rooms are not cleaned yet, so we have to wait before we can have our rooms. My suggestion is that every time that anyone who had already checked out, the staff should prepare the rooms for the next guest in order that new guest can occupy the rooms and have a good rest from a long travel. That would be appreciated. Priority Members are recognized but there are no Complimentary Drinks or Some Nuts....

We had missed our connecting flight to Phoinix and had to stay in Houston overnight. The front desk person was extremely helpful, sent a shuttle to pick us from the airport and helped in every possible way. The room was clean and nice, breakfast was fabulous.

We went to Houston area for a 50th Anniverary Wedding. Your hotel was highly recommended. We enjoyed our stay although we spent very little time in the hotel. Everyone was friendly, breakfast was delicious. I would recommend this to anyone traveling to the Houston area.

After landing at the airport and calling for a shuttle and being told it would show up in about 20 minutes, I waited 45 minutes until I called again. I then was told – after being on hold for 5 minutes – that it now definitely would show up within the next 10-15 minutes; which it did: So finally I waited about 1 h for the shuttle which was very inconvenient after a 22 h journey to Houston. However, I was given a voucher for dinner at their restaurant as apology which I appreciated.

Our experience was mixed at the Airport Holiday Inn. Per the airport procedure, we called for the hotel shuttle bus and were informed that the bus would be there in 15 minutes. It actually took around 30 minutes and a second call, and the 2 busses showed up within a minute of each other.
Check-in was very speedy and efficient.
The room was up to date, properly supplied and in good, clean condition.
The hallway carpet is among the most vivid ugly color schemes I have ever seen. Seems they are shooting for a Southwestern color scheme, but chose a zig-zag pattern with high contrast. At least the room was not carpeted that way.
Checkout was speedy but I did not receive a receipt on the way out.
Overall, acceptable place to stay with a couple of minor "bumps".

I did have a problems the last time using this hotel and did report same to IHG. However, I did go back to this Hotel two weeks later and I must say that the manager Mr Miller address the problem and went far and above my expectations. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in need of a hotel around the Houston Intl airport. Great staff,great room and good value. I would site one front desk person that went the extra mile ( Anna ). Thanks.

I am writing this review to commend the front desk staff on the morning of March 27, 2013. When I suggested that the hotel guest laundry on the second floor, not be open after 9:00 PM for surrounding guest rooms comfort; and also recommended that signs with room number locations be posted outside the elevator on the second floor, they were genuinely concerned. I was especially grateful for their response, as I had been on travel for four straight weeks and had this point, lost a great deal of my sense of humor. I always enjoyed staying at this hotel in the past for business reasons, as it allowed me easy access to the Houston/Galveston/Beaumont/Port Arthur areas. Being situated next to the laundry room, the night prior to a big presentation wasn't the best experience, I have had at the hotel, but the front desk staff attitude, more than made up for my inconvenience. I also enjoy dining at the restaurant and interacting with the great staff, there. The hotel could stand some upgrade, but then everybody would want to here.

Hotel shuttle runs only every half hour back and forth to airport and not on need. Can be crowded and the driver drives like "crazy" and not very pleasant to guests. Hotel front check in manager very pleasant but the rest of the desk staff don't really care. Beds are comfortable but pillows poor. Rooms very quiet which is good so close to airport. Food in restaurant is fine and good value. Staff very pleasant but need food service training, as our server hardly knew how to open a bottle of wine, she needed a hand. Young man in morning shift at breakfast however was extremely efficient and chefs for morning breakfast very pleasant.
Fine but would not highly recommend. Will not go out of our way to return. Busy hotel and the staff made you feel as if you were just another travelling passing through and they really didn't care if you ever returned.

The staff was AMAZING!!! Loved them loved them! The hotel is old and needs work done to it to get it up to the twentieth century mark. If they fix the hotel and had the staffs attitude, this would be a five star establishment.

A co-worker and I were booked into this hotel on business.we stayed for 2 1/2 weeks.The stay was comfortable enough and the staff was always very nice.The second day we were there we went down to see about getting a refrigerator and microwave in our rooms...refrigerator was sent up immmediately,never got a microwave.We were on the 4th floor and the only microwave was on the 1st. Would have been more convient to have one by the ice and soda maching on our floor.We used the shuttle service to get back and forth to the Airport everyday and only had to wait more the 10 minutes a couple of times. The shuttle service was REALLY nice to have to go to the mall and Walmart. A lot of Airplane noise,but that is to be expected with how close to the airport this property is.All in all my stay was very nice.

Check-in was a breeze. The staff was very professional and courteous. The restaurant staff were very attentive, yet gave you space. My compliments to them. The room was very nice. The water pressure for the shower was fine, but the toilet was slow. I used the exercise room during my stay. There were a variety of machines to get a full workout.. I enjoyed my stay.
