My first review was rejected as I said I wouldn't stay here again and named a competitor, so I will try it this way. My stay was less than stellar. My first room was 502 - smelled of mold and mildew. I thought it might just be because the air was not on so the first night I tried to stay there. That got my asthma going and in the morning, I asked to have that fixed. All they did was mask the smell (and it really didn't mask it at all) with a spray of some sort. So I asked to move to a different room. They did that with no issue. It was on a different floor as well. When I got in there it seemed to be ok, but I still had the smell of mold/mildew but I thought it might be with me now since the other room got me sick too. The new room is where I stayed as I did not believe it would get any better. The thermostat showed 'Er' on the display and the fan didn't work until I would play with the temp on the display. It would only work for a little while then 'Er' would show back up. The drain in the shower was slow, infact there was water past my ankles when showing and the drain took 4-5 minutes to drain after my shower was complete. Very disappointing stay. The night staff at the front desk was not helpful and usually not around. One night I called down there for 5 minutes (literally, I kept track of the time) before she answered the phone. Then lied to me saying she was at the desk...until I called her out on it and she just said that she wasn't there. No apology, no nothing! Just not some where I will ever stay again when in Houston for work.

Very detailed account of the good experience was reported during my recent stay in November / December 2015. Hope the management did care to read and post on line for the benefit of other prospective customers.

Excellent employees, were greeted warmly and IHG Rewards Club status acknowledged. We were offered a room upgrade based on our rewards club status, this had never happened to us before this stay. Our stay was very enjoyable and would recommend this hotel to others. Thank you.

An excellent hotel, caters for everything.
The restaurant is designed not only to dine, but to socialise too.
The staff are outstanding.

The staff are all accommodating, Very professional crew. The rooms are clean and we stay at this hotel often. Always have a pleasant stay. The warm cookies are great too!!!

Staff were very friendly and responsive at front desk and in the bar. Breakfast left a lot to be desired, not as much variety as other Holiday Inn Express I've stayed in. Pillows couple have been better, more variety. Would have like more variety of TV channels, but wasn't there long enough for it to matter that much.

I had a great stay last week. The staff was very friendly and everything was clean.
My only problem was I didn't have much time each morning to eat breakfast and there wasn't a per item pricing scheme in place for just grabbing a single muffin or bagel. It's ridiculous that I had been charged 12.99 every single morning for just a cup of coffee and a bagel because it was a "buffet".
Single item ordering needs to be available. I would not eat here again unless that was changed.
