Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Peddy Presidential Suite was large enough to accomodate our wedding party
We had a wedding in town and used the Presidential Suite for the wedding party to dress and do makeup/hair. The bridesmaids and bride spent the night before in the adjoining rooms, making it all very convenient to those involved. Great accomodations!

Hotel was convenient to downtown convention center. It was nice to just walk across the street to venue. Front desk staff were nice at check in but not very accomodating. They could care less that we were priority club members and told us it didn't matter. Bathroom was very small and room was average and dusty. There were no wash cloths in the bathroom, which has become a habit with many hotels. The bed was small but comfortable.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Robert001 Thin walls?
Overall, these were two of the worst night's sleep I've had in a hotel in recent memory. The room was very comfortable, but it seems that noise from the hallway was very loud in my room. There was a youth sports event nearby, but I was on the executive (club) level, and didn't expect to be awakened at 2 am by kids running and laughing up and down the hallway playing pranks on each other, much less the early 6am racket of their coach yelling and laughing outside his door down the hallway. The staff was very accommodating, and apologetic, but that didn't replace losing the sleep I did on both nights. the very next weekend, I stayed at a very similar Holiday Inn in another city, and the noise level from the hallway definatly seems more distant and controlled.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by GaryU Not pet friendly as advertised
Upon arrival one of the front desk associates was standing outside smoking. I had to wait at the front desk until he was finished with his smoke before I was assisted with check-in.
After checking in at 10pm, I was never informed where to park. The only parking lot I was able to find with available space was a back lot which wasn't very well lighted, which made me feel very uncomfortable.
Carlos, the host on the 4th floor, was very friendly until he saw our small pet. After leaving for 2 hrs, we returned to cancelled out door keys. Carlos informed us our pet had been barking and disruptive to other guests. However, when we returned to our room, we never once heard our pet barking. When questioned as to why no one contacted us about our disruptive pet, neither Carlos or the front desk personnel could give us an answer. It seemed they preferred scolding us about our pet instead of calling us. Seems "Carlos" doesn't like pets on "his" floor.
Carlos and the front desk associates made us feel like dogs instead of paying guests.
Although the hotel was clean, nice and in a great location to downtown, I would never recommend this hotel to guests with pets.

When I checked in Todd remembered me from my last stay.
Carlos, the host of the forth floor " Evening gathering place" remembered my name and made me feel at home,
The breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff was friendly and quick with the coffee.
I always stay at the "Downtown" Holiday Inn because of the staff. They make the difference.

Room was great. Although the atmosphere, service, and attention at the bar was awesome - the restaurant left a lot to be desired. Once seated I was never waited on. I ate my full breakfast from the self serve area and never got juice or coffee (stopped at nearby convenience store for that).

You have a great, friendly, and helpful staff. Carlos in particular took wonderful care of me, and everyone else, in the concierge's club.
That said, the leaking roof in the 4th floor is not at all consistent with the image projected by the first-floor restaurant and bar. Please consider patching the roof to make the environment as pleasant as the company.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lisa1955 enjoyable stay and great staff
We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Huntsville, Alabama for the week of Thanksgiving, 2012. My daughter was having surgery in Alabama and since we are from Texas we needed to stay in a hotel for her to recover. We also brought along our 2 small dogs with us and chose this hotel because they do allow pets. The location was great, very close to the hospital where my daughter's surgery took place, and there is a beautiful park right across the street where we walked the dogs and just enjoyed spending time there. The staff at this hotel were very accommodating, when we told them we would be staying the entire week, we were upgraded to a large suite at no extra cost.
Everyone who worked at the hotel was very friendly and very helpful. The food at this hotel was really good. We ordered room service several times during our stay and were very pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We had Thanksgiving brunch at the hotel also and it was wonderful. The free breakfast buffet was really good and the staff who works this buffet went above and beyond to make the meal very enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning a trip to Huntsville, Alabama. The hotel is older and will probably be renovated at some point. But everything was very clean and like I said the staff goes out of their way to make your stay very comfortable.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Susan1950 Wonderful New Year's Eve!
We purchased the NYE package and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We also purchased the optional dinner buffet. Our entire experience was very positive - food, entertainment, room, etc. I feel that I need to make a special point to mention the staff at this hotel. Everyone we encountered starting with Todd, at the front desk, to the housekeeping lady I encountered in the ladies room early New Year's Day was pleasant, good at their jobs, and seemed determined to make sure that each guest had a good time and had everything they needed. Yes, the walls are kind of thin and yes, our heating unit was a little slow, but none of that takes away from what was a very nice New Year's Eve experience. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the girl singer with the Flashbacks - Amazing voice!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 5felines Location, location!
This hotel is in the perfect place for us when we have late night activities downtown. The room was very nice, and we greatly appreciated having GLASS glasses! The room is showing signs of age, however. The plug in the bathroom needs replacing, and there were other imperfections. We also missed having pay per view movies. We didn't complain because nothing was a big deal, but it keeps this hotel from being a strong 3 level. I'd give it a 2.5-3. We will definitely return.

obviously the best location for the Rocket City Marathon. No parking costs or concerns. Room was adequate although carpet had stains and water was not hot. Had noisy neighbors and the sound permeated the room unfortunately. Staff was good. Food was good.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Arabella great rate, chilly bath
I found a good special rate online and booked on the basis of the rate. My number one criteria for a room is a clean bed and a clean bathroom. The room was clean with the exception of some stains and gummy-looking spots in the carpet, that appeared to have been forced down into the pile by foot traffic. Still, for a hotel that allows pets I can overlook the carpet. I tried to draw a hot bath, but the water was warm, at best. The alarm clock had no display on it; and yes, it was plugged into an outlet. The hotel has a very good location for downtown activities.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DeeBolton Wonderful ammenties in the room and fabulous front desk staff
The hotel staff exceeded my expectations from arrival until check out! Not only did I receive an extremely nice room due to being a Priority customer but the late check out was much welcomed and needed! I will be returning to this very hotel in early Dec. and looking forward to it! Thank you to the entire staff for their warm welcome and thoughtfulness!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Beth22 Could have been Great
The staff was wonderful, friendly, and helpful. My biggest complaint is that the overall cleanliness of the room was a disappointment. It wasn't like there was dust or dirt but it was just kind of dingy. For example the sealant used in/around the bathtub was brown with age/dirt. there was obviously a stain on the inside of the shower curtain that looked like someone tried to clean their mascara off with the shower curtain. The ceilings were stained. I think that the room itself was just really showing its age. Not the things in the room; bed, bedding, furniture but the permanent fixtures.
