I booked and pre-paid for an executive suite as I was travelling to Felixstowe on business. On my way to the hotel I recieved a phone call from them asking if I could change hotels as they had overbooked. Due to the fact that I had arranged to meet business colleagues for dinner in the hotel and that they were also on their way, I told them it would not be possible for me to change hotels at such late notice and enquired how this could possibly happen, when I had booked and pre-paid on-line a week earlier. I was told that it was company policy to overbook, as some guests usually cancelled, however, when they didn't it lead to an overbooking situation and very disapointed and angry customers, which was apparently a regular occurance. This company policy shows complete disregard for customer care and satisfaction. On arrival at the hotel I checked in and was given the key to my room, only to find that I had been allocated a standard twin room, despite booking and paying for an executive suite. When I pointed this out to the receptionist she did move me to the correct room.
All in all this stay was a complete disaster and I will seriosly consider not using IHG Group hotels again due to their uncaring company policies.

I had to find a place at short notice and as I have lived in a Holiday for 5 .5 year thought it would be a good option, old rooms, staff could not even be bothered to stand up, barman un-kempt hair and shirt hanging out scruffy, no guest relations. Did not even get up for breakfast wouold hope it could get better, only had one like this before and that was Cambridge HI express at the airport, and moved out of that after one night..

The venue was faultless, the food was delicious and plentiful and the package with accommodation made the whole experience awesome. We will definately be looking at booking up again next year. It would be good if they did something similar in the way of theme nights, on a monthly basis, I would thoroughly recommend it, 10/10. .

This Holiday Inn is not like most, it only has two floors, instead of several, but I think it must have been owned by another company at one time. In no way was this a disadvantage though.
The hotel was very clean, the staff were extremely friendly, especially Daryll, the room was really nice, very warm, and everything worked. Very hot water too!
The breakfast was also excellent and plenty of it. A good experience all round.
The hotel is just a few seconds away from the A14, which is great, but despite this, there was no noise from traffic.
I would recommend this hotel to business and holiday travellers both. Very handy for Felixstowe.

I did have to complain at 3 in the morning as there was loud poeple in our area of holiday it was dealt with very quickly .

The location and parking arrangements makes this a good hotel to stay for Ipswich visitors; being adjacent to main routes.
This was a Rewards night for us and because of the corporate long-stay guests we were not given an upgrade. The reception staff couldn't be nicer on arrival, promising to remove the fold-down bed that had been put up in our room, and equally apologetic when we left because that bed was still up!
Good we thought, but then the niggly problems surfaced - the mattress was past its best and dipped in the middle so we spent some of the night rolling back and fro'; the shower was leaking at the connection to the feed pipe and could not be adjusted to deliver a fine spray, only a solid jet of water.
Would we use it again - yes because of its location.
Would we complain - yes if these problems have not been fixed by our next visit.

This is a lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff. It was good value for money and the wedding I attended went smoothly. Every staff member on duty was helpful and made the wedding go very well. The room was huge and very comfortable. Decor isn't perfect - but is homely as a result. Food was good, breakfast excellent. Good value for money, good space and very friendly - could not fault anything.
