Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Super nights stay Fabulous time swimming lengths in the pool while the sun flooded through the glass windows. April 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A very pleasant stay Hotel very clean. Staff gave an excellent service and food very good. Although the rooms were quite small they were comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to others. April 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good hotel Is a very nice hotel with all the services i need for my stay April 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very clean, comfortable and welcoming Staff extremely friendly and helpful especially Rachel the manageress and her team of staff in the food lounge. Would recommmend the Holiday Inn experience. April 3, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Just your average overpriced UK hotel. This place has generously sized rooms but small bathrooms. It would be value for money if the price was dropped by £10 per night and the Wi-Fi was free.....both of these things are extremely unlikely to occur anytime soon!. April 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 very clean room and nice food had no faults with room or food, i work as a head housekeeper at a hotel in norfolk and i was very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms March 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel Received a warm welcome on arrival. All staff very friendly and sociable. Room was spotless and had a good nights sleep. Only stayed overnight so did not partake in any meals. Would certainly recommend this hotel and will definitely book again when in Ipswich. March 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good nights sleep Hotel good staff very helpfull and a good nights sleep. What more could you ask for. March 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good The hotel was clean and tidy, The meal vouchers were very good value for money My only fault would be that the changing room for the leisure club was very cold, especially when you come out of the pool. March 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Generally I found my time at this holiday inn to my liking I found the staff polite and if available they would up grade me as i am a platinum member , some holiday inn hotels do not always do this even if there is availability The only negative point is the decor in the corridors and the rooms , needs up dating and may I say as a platinum member in a number of holiday inns you can choose your newspaper for some reason you get the eye or independent at .this one why? Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Don't use this hotel if you need three in the room! It was one o'clock in the morning when we returned from a birthday party ( to late to reqest a change) when we noticed the sofa bed was at a strange angle when we got into the room, when we looked underneath several of the springs were missing,, so ended up with a rubbish nights sleep The free wifi in public areas did not work, when I enquired at reception they said there was only six items allowed access at any time so it was probably people's phones! The best point was the breakfast which very good February 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by STAFF TAKE GREAT CARE Never been to Ipswich before but directions very clear. Welcoming check in, bar meal service excellent with good food. Room very clean and tidy but beware of bathrooms they are so tiny you have to twist your body to get in. There are larger rooms available - make sure you check when booking. Restaurant service perfect and it we have to complain at all it is because the meals are very large but excellent quality and value. Room very quiet with comfortable beds. Breakfast good and again very good and friendly service. Reception friendly and efficient. First rate stay. February 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice bedroom, small bathroom Good stay, nice comfortable, quiet bedroom although the bathroom is tiny. The service, food and cleanliness was good apart from being woken up by a chambermaid at 745 on a weekday morning! As they entered the room they could see the curtains were closed and it was still occupied so they went away. At 815 they tried again and still found the room to be occupied. They then decided to start vacuuming other rooms within the area. Not really what you would expect? Why do they start work at 730 when check outs at 12? February 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ipswich Holiday Inn Great stay, some minor mistakes with the food orders but everything was sorted out, really nice food credit to the chefs who get very little recognition. February 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Happy Holiday Inn The girls on reception remembered so many things about meal deals, etc, they were brilliant. Used the steam room, sauna and swimming pool - a great resource. Had a very nice evening meal. All staff helpful, friendly and approachable. A very accessible and convenient car park. Only downside is no lifts. We were on second floor, but, our overnight bag was not heavy. February 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good service Service is one of the best in the region. I enjoyed the gym, the pool, jacuzzi and steam bath, and of course the meals. The staff are friendly and they give due recognition. January 31, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Glad I switched Hotels I had previously stayed at A N Other HI in the region and was not too happy with their prices as I do travel on a Company Budget setting. I had read the previous reviews and was a little weary of staying at Ipswich, but the room cost was considerably lower and within budget. I was greated as a Priority club member, and have now on two stays been upgraded. Not always possible but they will offer if possible. I was also offered meal vouchers which are a great deal. Both of these are not always offered in HI around the country and its nice to see. The staff were very welcoming and take time with you if they can and recognise you on return trips. End result was cancelling any booking elsewhere and now only using Ipswich when I am in this region. January 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Warm Welcome I have stayed at this hotel on and off for around 12 years - I have many choices in Ipswich, but find the friendlessness of the staff matched with warm, quiet and comfortable rooms worth coming back for. Nice bar area and the restaurant constantly updates the menu. Never used the pool or gym in 12 years..but hear they are good! January 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great hotel Always a welcomeing stay at a hotel with greta facilities - highly recommended January 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable stay & friendly staff We used to stay here at least once a year to visit relatives but a few years ago, had an unpleasant weekend in early December due to an extremely rowdy Christmas overnight party which kept us and half the hotel awake for most of the night. We have therefore given it a wide berth until recently; however this visit has proved to be very enjoyable with a quiet, clean and comfortable room and helpful and pleasant staff. It is in a good central location for us to visit family and the food (although we only had breakfast) was good. The whole weekend was excellent value for money and we would recommend this hotel. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 3 Rooms Booked Booked 3 rooms for myself & friends on a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast rate. Huge difference in quality between rooms, no upgrades or freebies for Platinum Elite status. Restaurant average. It took 45 mins to settle the bill on departure as they managed to charge different rates for each room & mixed up the bills & could not seperate the meal charges. I felt really sorry for the girl on checkout as we had to involve Central Reservations to confirm the booked rate. Did get a big discount on he meals eventually. November 28, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A well run hotel This is a well run hotel. Good imformation given by reception staff. The hotel is spotless. We were there for a wedding and all went very well. Room was very good just a little small but very good value November 9, 2012

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Let down by restaurant Stayed for 3 nights, Friday to Monday. Had an executive room. Reasonable space but had to ask for second bathrobe and chair.the perk of being priority club member was two packs of biscuits, two bottles of water and a crunchie bar! Disappointed that biscuits not replenished each morning. Stay was spoilt by the restaurant experience. Dinner on first night very poor, crayfish and avocado starter served with ready buttered white bread, chicken pâté with a huge wedge of white bread, fish pie more sauce than fish, no rump steak although sirloin replacement was cooked exactly as ordered. Dessert was terrible, cranachan presented nothing like described and sent back. Staff very helpful but overall impression not good. Breakfast memorable for what was missing, ie no black pudding, no choice of breads, no croissants or other pastries. Also annoying that the sift giving details of made to order Items likE porridge, poached eggs and omelettes only appeared on the Monday. Location good for travelling around coast but taxi to centre of town is around £7. Overall we thought executive room not worth the premium and we would not stay again. November 3, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rooms need checking far more carefully Lovelylocation for area around Ipswich. Pleasantly quite at night (though the final closure of room doors need adjusting. This is our 2nd stay at this hotel, both have been blighted by things which should not occur. This time the toilet would not flush because thplunger chain was broken. this was reported to reception 3 times betwwen 14.00 an1930 before we were moved to another room only to find the toilet seat not fastened properly. rather than report it I fixed it myself. Havong said all that the beds are very comfy and the rooms nicely decorated.. November 3, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fairly comfortable Our stay was good until the headboard fell off the wall in the middle of the night and woke us up . I think the breakfast was rather expensive and waiting for the toast to cook a bad idea as there was a wait while other people cooked their toast which meant we went without. We stayed at the Holiday Inn because my. Son got married there I think they catered fro his wedding well I was very impressed. November 3, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tom the breakfast didnt look nice , no fried eggs , no accept the pets , thats not good for the hotel ! October 29, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable night's sleep but poor food Stayed for 3 nights on business. Room clean and tidy, TV working with freeview so good choice of channels. Iron available. Bathroom ok but the water pressure very low - makes having a shower something of a challenge as it trickles onto your head! Food for breakfast not bad, good range of cereals, cooked if you want it and pastries/bread. Attention to detail a bit lacking - for example, the bread knife not provided for the baguettes! Food for dinner is poor, an honour it appears to share with the other Holiday Inn in Ipswich. I had two nights food. First night they offered an Indian Buffet which I went for. Starters were poppadoms, some pickles (no chutney though) and onion. Also some quite nice Bhaji. The main courses were rice, a chicken curry, what appeared to be a beef curry and a veggie curry. There was also some curried potatoes. I had a bit of the veggie curry - not bad but the veg had been cooked to death. Chicken curry had a quite nice sauce but the chicken itself was very dry. Second night I ordered off the menu. First course I had pate, advertised with 'Ale Chutney'. What arrived was clearly pate with Branston Pickle! Main course was sausage, mash and gravy which, to be honest, wasn't that bad. Chef went a bit heavy on the watercress dressing though. I passed on puds both nights as the cost for each night was way too expensive for what you get. In summary, good for a night's sleep, less good for showers, and would recommend going into town for an evening meal. October 24, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great stay in a lovely hotel We were on a weekend away with my sister and husband and we booked the your lovely hotel mainly for the swimming pool and location,we both are slightly disabled and requested a larger bathroom as its easier with my knee replacement and sisters hip replacement,we were given a lovely room with an amazing bathroom that was brilliant for our requirements. The bed was lovely and comfy and spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. We loved the tea and coffee and iron and hairdryer,We had a lovely swim every day ,the pool and the jacuzzi were fantastic. The grounds were immaculate and we found the whole weekend very relaxing. The only minus was the breakfast was quite expensive so we went out to eat and it was very noisy in the corridor outside our room when guests which we understand were attending a wedding came in at 2am in the morning and decided to laugh and chat ,overall though we had a lovely break and would stay again.the staff were very friendly and helpful.would recommend. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by uncomfortable bed We enjoyed our stay at the holiday inn Ipswich. The pool was great and the large room and bathroom. The only downside was the uncomfortable bed. It was too soft and I kept rolling towards the middle. October 12, 2012
