I stayed at Holiday Inn Istanbul City in July, 2014 for 7 nights.
Hotel is in an Ideal location for visiting all the sights that Istanbul has to offer. Tours can be booked through the hotel. Tram stop right outside hotel about 10/15 minutes to the centre of Old Istanbul and Sultanahmet square, 20/25 minutes to airport with one transfer stop which is easy to negotiate. I would advise travellers to purchase a travel card which can be used on the Metro, Trams, Buses and Ferries, can be obtained from news stand outside the hotel adjacent to crossing onto tram stop.
Made to feel welcomed and all staff were warm and friendly, platinum statue recognised at check in and on departure, even offered a farewell coffee on the hotel.
Allocated a suite on the top floor at the end of the passage which was spacious and had two bedrooms, which I think must have been an upgrade for platinum status. It was clean and comfortable but on occasions you could hear children screaming during the night which I believe came from the properties next to the hotel.
We were on a bed and breakfast rate and found the breakfast had a good variety of both hot and cold food + Turkish delight! The restaurant manager always came across to say good morning and offered to order and bring us omelettes. We did not use the other restaurant within the hotel, so I can't comment on that restaurant. There are a few restaurants within a couple of minutes’ walk from the hotel which were reasonable but found none which sold alcohol drinks. We used them a couple of times but mainly used the restaurants in Old Istanbul which had great views from their roof top terraces.
There is a small swimming pool which is ideal to relax by after a day of sightseeing to cool down. On occasions it looks like there are no sun beds but the pool staff can soon magic some up. Pool towels obtained from the Fitness/spa reception. Staffs are on hand to order refreshments and on most days came around with a plate of nibbles to try.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kam1988 Nice stay
The quality of stay was worth of the price, and I would recommend to my friends who want to come to Istanbul for holiday. I will definitely come back to stay if I visit Istanbul next time.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Marty678 Rooms very clean, staff helpful and courteous
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and daily room service left room in wonderful condition. We enjoyed our evening meals in the Naar restaurant--we did not eat breakfast so cannot comment.
The tram stop is directly in front of the hotel so it is very easy to get transportation to city center.
I highly recommend the facility as it has great value for the prices.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Moson Perfect location
We stayed for 4 nights and found the staff friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We used the pool and the gym daily. We chose not to eat at the hotel as we thought it was a bit expensive. There are plenty of eating places nearby The hotel was close to transport links for sightseeing and about half an hour from the airport.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tuerkeispecial Gutes Hotelund sehr zentral gelegen

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Thamir Bad staff, and bad experience
I ve booked a suite pluss another room for my familiy . They were a man with his wife and child( 9 years old) . The other room for my father. The breakfast was not included in room rate.
When I am going to pay thay made me pay for child breakfast although holiday inn rules say that children eat free when to parents pay full price.
They forced me to take hotel taxi to airport instead of other taxi.
man got the feeling that they want to steal you in different way.
I dint enjoy my stay there.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Traveling the World Good... but
I stayed at this property for 4 nights, the hotel is not near tourist area, you have to take a taxi or the tram (right in front of hotel). The first room I was given was very small, but later upgraded to larger room. The rooms have very thin walls ....you can hear the conversations next door.
The front desk staff was very friendly... I wish I had gotten their names, but the young lady that did the check in and the young man with glasses that did the check out were very friendly and helpful...great job!.
I ate dinner at the restaurant, but service was terrible..I was never told that there was a buffet available, plus the staff was more interested in watching television or chatting with other staff members that they only came to my table 4 times (deliver menu, take order, deliver food, deliver check)....never brought water as requested, food was cold and drinks came when staff wanted not when requested.... find another place to eat, plenty of options near by...
Other than that I would stay at this property again.
