This property provides a great deal of warmth and professionalism---when it comes to their staff. Ms. Dorthy remembered my face and name upon check in. This means a great deal to me. She always goes above and beyond the call of duty to greet you with a smile and kind words.
Will stay here again next time I'm in the area.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. Close to downtown, eating establishments and historical sites. Interior and exterior need some updating.

As an IHG member usually look for Holiday Inns during road trips as they have consistent quality, and they seem to be doing system wide upgrades. We just went into this hotel and asked if they had a room and were treated well. Good nights sleep in extremely comfortable bed, Only problem was not enough plugs. I like the hotels that have a few outlets on the lamp bases, which usually meet our purposes for recharging our electronic devices.

We have to visit Johnson City for business, and we will definitely make Holiday Inn our go-to for accomodations. The rooms are ridiculously clean and comfortable. My husband wishes there were more than 2 pillows, but it doesn't bother me at all. The management is friendly. If I had to find fault, it would be with the cafe. We went down for breakfast and waited almost 10 min for someone to notice us. It was deserted, and we didn't see one employee the whole time we waited.

My father and I were driving from Fort Worth, TX to Gettysburg, PA. This was a last minute decision to stay in Johnson City, TN at the Holiday Inn. What a great choice that ended up being! We will definitely recommend this facility to everyone.
My only complaint is that the mattress was not firm enough for my comfort - I prefer extra firm mattresses and pillows. My dad enjoyed his mattress and pillows and said he slept great.

The remodel will not fix all the issues but there are a lot of problems that the remodel should fix: sliding toilet seats, broken toilet paper holders, crumbled doors.
Only one person working the front desk and hotel was very busy. I understand issues with having too many employees to pay but you really can’t have one person working when the hotel is busy.
No microwaves in the rooms but there is one in the lobby. Internet was slow to impossible to use. Things improved around 2230. I found the sheets to be very scratchy and the bed to be a little spongy.
Bath counters are way too low. Bath tub was "Bath Fitted" at some time and now it is very narrow with slanted sides. The result is a slippery, narrow tub. A large person would not be able to enjoy a bath here.
There is complimentary coffee available in the lobby area adjacent to the restaurant during morning hours. I strongly recommend the restaurant for breakfast as the prices were very fair and the food was high quality. The breakfast potatoes were deliciously crispy and well seasoned. Service was prompt, efficient and issues addressed quickly.

staff was great but facilities were not. previous stay there were no issues. but this time room service was called to clean the coffee pot. maintenance was called to check an electrical outlet, reset the TV, and repair the phone. all were successful except the phone...within an hour after repair it didn't work again.
