Very nice room. Very clean room and knowledgeable staff. Will definitely stay again!! We requested a room away from the elevator because we like it to be super quiet and they were very accommodating ! Great job Holiday Inn!!!

I stay at the Johnstown Holiday Inn, Market Street due to family commitments and visits to the area. There is always a quick & pleasant check-in and the room accommodations are clean & comfortable. Would not stay anywhere else when my travels take me to this area. Just do not appreciate the parking fee. I don't understand the reason for this. I have never seen a guard in the parking lot nor is there any valet service. I would appreciate an explanation for this charge.

This hotel has undergone extensive reno and is a joy to stay in now. Well worth the cost (normal price) and location (I love downtown hotels). Stay here.

This hotel is very comfortable, the staff are all friendly and the rooms are clean. The pool and sauna are small but comfortable, heated and indoors. It is a bit confusing to find your way around but once you get your bearings this place is overall very nice.

We parked in handicap and charged $5 parking fee. Why? Very disappointed that guests have to pay for parking.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Kelvin74 Great service at front desk. "Platinum Member"
I will have to say that the service at time of check in was great. But I can't say that the room was great because of the location. I was in a King room next to the elevator shaft and you could hear the elevator going up and down all night. Sounded like I was next to an airport and jets were flying over the hotel. The lobby was very nice and clean! but the rooms could use more updating. The rooms have been updated some but comparing this hotel to the majority of other Holiday Inn's/Expresses I've stayed at, the updates are way behind. I know this location was updated a few years ago but Holiday Inn should consider making more in the near future. Also the HVAC unit in my room worked fine but it was falling apart and out of date and the water pressure in the shower was very poor. I would recommend this hotel to whoever, but I would advise you to request a room away from the elevator shaft. Plus check the room before you check in if you're not reserving online.

We stayed the weekend in this hotel...WHY are double beds the only option? Two average sized adults cannot sleep comfortably in a double. On top of that the beds are so uncomfortable we could hardly move in the morning. There was a huge chaw of tobacco in the air conditioner and what looked like feces on the bathroom door. When the cleaning folks serviced the room they set our air conditioner to low so we came back to a stuffy and smelly room. In a town like this how can you justify the price charged?$5 per night to park in a dirty unsecured parking garage in Johnstown is insane when parking around the hotel is free and unrestricted. Save yourself some trouble and stay at the Holiday Inn Express instead.

This was my first trip to Johnston. While driving into the area I was scared that the hotel would suffer the misfortune as the downtown has but to my surprise it was beautiful. Service was exceptional, approachable and pleasant. Pool was clean. Restaraunt was designed beautifully and service was speedy. When visiting Johnstown in the future I will be returning to this hotel!

We were there for a wedding. Had an excellent stay. The room and bed were nice and comfortable. We went to the Lounge and the bar staff were excellent. Very nice and friendly and attentive. Had breakfast both days we were there, and the service was great.
The only thing about the stay was upon checking out. The Front Desk Agent was in the back sitting in a chair on her cell phone. Not that we were standing there long, but to see that is not a good thing. She may have been new because she needed help in splitting our payment, which is no problem. But as we are walking away then she asks how our stay was. Just not a very friendly feel from the Front Desk Agent.
Other than that it was an EXCELLENT stay.

Fast check in. Great location and in walking distance to our event. The bar was great and also the food. Room was clean but needed an exhaust fan in bathroom so the room wouldn't have an mildew smell.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LoisO Check Out the Package Deals
When planning our trip to Johnstown and looking online for hotels, we found the Holiday Inn offered several packages that suited our needs perfectly. During our four-day stay we booked the Heritage package - which included tickets to the Heritage Discovery Center, the Flood Museum and The Incline Plane. We booked the Breakfast package for two nights - which included breakfast at Harrigans Cafe and Wine Deck. The last night we booked the Date Night package - which included a delicious supper (with wine) and tickets to the movies. The downtown location was convenient to all the sites as well as to GrandView Cemetery where we saw the Plot of the Unknown Dead from the 1889 Flood as well. Most of our relatives are buried at this cemetery and we found their tombstones as well. The Cambria County Library, located just a few blocks away, provided a great source of information to us as we are working on our genealogy. The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. Thanks Holiday Inn for offering these "deals" !

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by travelforwork Very nice staff - kind of damp
The rooms smelled a bit musty and had a weird faux citrus smell. The air freshener was over whelming - like old style mens cologne over cigarettes and dampness. There was a ladder on the roof that reached the window. Just not a fabulous place to be. Needs a little hug. Staff was very very nice in hotel as well as restaurant.

This hotel was fine for a brief visit to Johnstown but the wi-fi was not operational for most of our 2 night stay. This made keeping up with business very difficult when at the hotel.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by jenniferH Horrible Management!!!
Rented a roll away bed and paid cash for it the next morning upon checkout. Later I saw they also withdrew the money from my bank account via my debit card. Because I was transferring money from my savings to checking as we traveled and used funds, this charge caused by bank account to overdraw! I was charged a $26 fee from my bank. They reversed the charges for the roll away bed but told me it was my fault that my account was overdrawn. After three phone calls to management and NO returned calls, I call guest relations and they agreed I was right. They contacted the management at the hotel and her response was that she was ABSOLUTELY not going to do anything about it. Guest relations said "sorry". What a way to make an impression Holiday Inn.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bigcapusta A Big Boo On Parking
As a former Johnstown resident, it was always a joy to stay at a convenient downtown location and enjoy what's left of the downtown area. It does seem like an outrageous fee to charge hotel guests $5 a day for parking. Come on, is your room utilization that bad that you have to make up for it with a parking fee in a looming ghost town. Boooooo!!!!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Karisor Comfortable rooms, no benefits being a platinum member
Over all stay was pleasant, paying for parking was unsat. As a platinum member, I ordered 2 different rooms, under my account. When we arrived, all they would give me was one bottle of water and one candy bar. They would not give my father a water bottle and candy bar, because he was not a platinum member, but the room was purchased by me.
Most Holiday inns give better perks to platinum members.

I use this hotel frequently on my business travels. I arrived late, the dinning room was still opened and feeding. AMEN! Room was clean and well kept. I only wish the dark carpet would be changed out for brighter cheerful colors. (just a personal preference). The dark wood and interior is nice and rich; but it grows old in each and every holiday inn I travel too. I recommend to any traveler.

Hotel was glad to help us with early check-in for our wedding preparations. We traveled almost 3 hours so appreciated the ability to freshen up and change our clothes before the 1 pm event. Room was clean and well appointed. Very convenient to the reception hall downtown.
Did not appreciate the early knock on door of the cleaning staff on Sunday morning. Seems like that should be tied to an actual checkout event for each particular room.
Breakfast buffet food was of poor quality by the time we got to it after 10 am Sunday. Staff was friendly at all times of our visit.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gomez1313 Nice hotel with view of the Incline
This was the second time we stayed at this property. It was also the second time we asked for, and received, a room which afforded us a view of the Incline...nice!
The hallway outside our room was very dirty and appeared not to have been vacuumed in some time. That was off-putting; however, once inside, our room was clean and the beds were comfortable and included an assortment of pillows for that perfect "fit." The bathroom showed signs of wear, but the rest of the room was in great shape.
We chose to eat at Harrigan's inside the hotel. Unfortunately, our waitress seemed to be in an ill humor and wasn't particularly friendly. My wife's turkey burger arrived nearly completely raw and had to be sent back. That being said, the food was tasty once fully-cooked.
We decided to try the gelato and that proved to be a mistake...not because of taste (it was delicious) but because of the serving size in relation to price. We both received what amounted to half a scoop and the cost was $6.50 each! We literally paid $13.00 for what amounted to a single scoop of gelato. That was criminal.
Finally, our waitress gave us someone else's check which resulted in a bit of confusion to finish things off. Still, I realize anyone can have a bad day, so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt...
This property is located close enough to walk to the Incline, though the neighborhood one must pass through seems a bit questionable so do keep alert...but don't let it stop you from enjoying a nighttime ride on the Incline for spectacular views of downtown Johnstown.
Overall, this Holiday Inn is a nice place to stay. The lobby is exceptionally well done and the desk staff is very pleasant, friendly and professional. We will definitely be back!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Leesk Rooms and hallways could use a facelift
Have stayed here numerous times over many years. The hallways and rooms are getting a little tired. Prices have gone up and I did not like being charged for parking or having to pay in advance to get a slightly better rate that was about 10% higher than last year. Toilet did not flush easily, and no one serviced / cleaned the room during my two-day stay. The service in Harrigan's is still very good.
I had an event on one of the evenings. Food was very good --- servers were efficient and friendly but somewhat unsophisticated with how to serve wine with dinner.
I used the workout center one morning which is sorely lacking in equipment. No weights and no towels.

My room was clean & comfortable. The housekeeper kept my room well supplied. I was shocked the first morning of my stay, when I had no hot water. I left a note for Tracy about the water. She replied she was sorry for the inconvenience & that they were fixing the problem. I thought it was nice of her to be concerned for my problem, which I know she couldn't fix. I wasn't happy that my daughter & grandsons were stuck in elevator, but the majority of my stay was good.
