Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by the smoking room my husband is a smoker and he was able to relax in the room while i was visting my mother who was sick the waitress in the dinning room was very good if and when we have to get a room there in joliet we will stay with the hotel March 21, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Property Condition The staff was friendly and accomodating. This property however is showing its age and in need of update. There is an old smell of the building and the room furniture is in need of replacement. I had a chair with a broken arm and one that was heavily stained. The toilet ran and cycled. The heating / cooling unit is loud and typical of the era. The bedding was clean and comfortable and made the stay worthwile. In it's day a fine place, today it needs a facelift. March 14, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Fitness Room Ever Seen Even though it was the smallest room I ever have seen, it was not clean, there was no water, nor TV remote control (you have to stop exercising to change the channel.) Informed the front desk who told me that no one is available till 9 am. Shouldn't fitness room be ready in the morning since most people exersice before work? Besides this hotel does not keep any bottled water for their customers, you have to use vending machines! March 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff Very Freindly and extremley helpful. Food at restauarant was very satisfing, Great prices and delicious. The Bartender was very pleasant and fun to talk to. It seems as the Managment has hit a HOME RUN on the staffing and level of excellence. Thanks for the privilage of staying at your humble Hotel. Dan Prioity member. February 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great place to stay I would highly recommend this place to others to stay here. Clean, comfortable, nice staff members, good food. no problems with check in/check out. Free parking as well. I would stay here again, maybe in the summer so I could use the outdoor swimming pool, was a tab bit cold in January to use it. LoL February 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Definitely an above average HI property with good service and value! Stayed there for two weeks for business. Beautiful hotel with excellent free breakfast (definitely better than the ones they serve at HI Express). The lady who takes the order was very cheerful and nice. The room is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The location is great. Close to many restaurants and fast food chains. The gym is tiny and a bit too warm though. The staff there are friendly and helpful, especially a front desk lady named Anna. She was very nice and extremely attentive. She definitely made my days there. Will certainly recommend this hotel to other people. January 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice hotel I was afraid going in because of some of the reviews I read but this wasn't bad at all. It's not the best hotel in the chain and I wasn't blown away by anything but I found nothing wrong with this property. I only stayed the one night and got in late and left early but it was very nice. I was recognized as a priority club member and given a free breakfast at the restaurant in the morning, pretty good by the way. The room was nice, I had no issues with cleanliness or anything else. I would recommend this property. January 29, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fitness Center This hotel advertises a fitness center is on location, however, there is not one at their location. Also, the hotel advertises a free breakfast, however in staying there for two nights, I was only given breakfast on one morning and the only beverages available included in the free breakfast were water and coffee, anything else you had to pay for. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by COFFEE IN LOBBY POT There was no fresh coffee at 6AM in the lobby pot! It had been turned off & was at room temp! Sorry! December 18, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Outdated We had to come up here for work quite a bit this summer and every time I stay here I think that if I have the choice I wouldn't be here. The rooms are fine but it's just an outdated and average hotel. I try to use the stairs and every time I do I regret it because it smells so terrible. The breakfast is always the same and it is really not that good. It's always pretty greasy and not a lot of flavor. The worst is the French toast... Don't eat it... It's too bad that free breakfast is suck a perk but since it's so terrible when I don't get the voucher I don't even ask. So, if you have to stay here out of necessity, you can do it but really I would go somewhere else. December 6, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and clean The room was clean and comfortable although we are Platinum Priority Club members when my husband asked about available upgrades (yes he did have to ask) he was told there were none when he sighed and said whats new I'm used to that suddenly an upgrade became available???? We did get free breakfast, however the breakfast quality was poor and my husband had to ask for toast and orange juice, don't think there should have been a charge for the juice but he likes OJ with his breakfast. Sever was running around saying how busy she was with no help but there were not many tables and it was a buffet where you mosty serve youself ! Would stay here again but need to improve breakfast quality !! December 4, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by This Holiday Inn could use a refurbishing We stopped en route home from Omaha and didn't have a reservation. Had stopped at a Holiday Inn Express further back on I80 and they were full, didn't offer to call ahead for us, but did give us two telephone numbers that we could call. We thought this Holiday Inn was a bit difficult to access from the freeway, the signage wasn't very clear as to how to find the entrance. But we did find it, and they had a room, so we were pleased. We were also pleased that breakfast was included, although it was a rather limited breakfast, with no fruit and no juice (unless you paid extra.) The evening restaurant meal was average quality, reasonably priced, and atmosphere left a lot to be desired. But the hall and room carpeting is outdated and needs replacing, the decor is also dated. The hotel looks rather worn and out of date. My main disappointment was that there was no swimming pool! There is a large outdoor pool, but of course in November it was closed. At a Holiday Inn I usually expect a pool and a hot tub, so I was quite disappointed. Our room was small, bathroom VERY small, but adequate and while there was no King bed available, we managed with the two doubles. The very large TV was nice, but we were tired and not that interested in TV. It was a decent night's sleep, but I doubt we will make it a priority to return to this particular Holiday Inn. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Thank the front counter staff for trying to salvage this experience I booked a meeting room for two days and hotel room when I arrived no one knew which room(s) we were supposed to be in. The room marked (with co. name-sign) was different than the room we marked on the facility schedule, and we ended up being told to go to a different room than either of these. The second day they had us in another room different than the first. I didn't want to move all my materials and requested not to move, the front desk called sales and tried moving things around to accommodate but the confusion lack of organization seemed unprofessional. One would have thought that someone from the sales department, who booked this event would have introduced themselves and made sure the issues were worked out but even after the front desk called about the issues there seemed to be little concern from the sales office except to answer the questions and get off the phone. In conclusion the hotel rooms are less than average quality for the price and topped off with the meeting room experience I will most likely not be back to this facility for any reason. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Miscellaneous My wife and I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. Overall, I have no complaints EXCEPT for the carpeting. It either needs to be deep-cleaned or replaced. I was walking around wearing white socks for one day. The socks are now filthy black on the bottoms. October 19, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by It was an okay hotel. The staff that checked us in and out were very nice. The room was made up before we got back the second night and was clean. The bartender in the restaurant was rude. I asked him if he could change the TV channel from football to Shark Tank (the TV in the other part of the restaurant was on Shark Tank). No one in the bar was watching football (two men at the counter were talking and the bartender was talking to the two women at the bar). He abruptly said "No" and if I wanted to watch Shark Tank I could move to a different table. It wasn't the fact that I could change tables, it was his rude behavior. Also, we were in a No Smoking room and there was smoke odor. At breakfast we were given a coupon for the breakfast buffet. The food was good but when I asked for OJ I was told it would cost more. I didn't feel that I should have to pay extra for the OJ. I probably would not stay there again. October 19, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good overall Room was great (although a little small), but the bed was extremely comfortable. Staff was slightly unwelcoming on one occasion (although i looked like a total bum from traveling). Breakfast was good, but it had to be purchased with the room and it wasn't quite $10 good. The booking stated i would get a 20" Television, but i got a 40" instead, which was a nice surprise! Overall, i would stay there again. The value was pretty good and it served the purpose of providing a place to crash after a night out. October 19, 2012
