Great room with a very comfortable bed like always seems to be the case at the Holiday Inn. Not so positive experience with the staff at the front desk. The young man didn't really seem to want to be there and wasn't all that friendly, not what I'm used too!

Good quality room with very spacious shower - no bath.
Very convenient for the Airport.
Turn right from hotel to find nearest gas station not in the airport.
Beer and food in hotel is very good - a local IPA.

I recently spent 3 nights here while traveling for business. The hotel was ok. A typical Holiday Inn. The pool was quite small,, & there is no hot tub. The exercise room is also very small. The pool & exercise room were both open 24 hours though. We did dine in the restaurant one evening & felt the food was overpriced, & there were only 2 people working the dining area & bar & it got quite busy while we were there. Our conference was right next door, so that was a plus. The food & service at the conference center were Amazing! The snow removal was not good at the site. In all of the days we stayed, there was no snow removal in the parking lot & it was quite a mess. One of the conference attendees who drove in locally said the back of the hotel lot was cleared, so we wondered why they did not have the guests move their cars there to clean the lot.

For the last several years, the Holiday Inn KCI has been my home away from home when I’m in Kansas City for business, which lately has been once a month. The staff always greets you with a smile and makes your stay comfortable and relaxing. The rooms are always neat, clean and the beds are comfortable. I would recommend this hotel for any traveler.

The King size bed & pillows were very comfortable, and I appreciated the comfy over-stuffed reading chair. The staff were friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my 5-day stay. I ate twice daily in the restaurant, and the food was delicious.

We had 1 king bed for our room-it was great. We had 4 small pillows (almost the size of couch pillows) to share. I really liked that they offered different types of pillows (firm and soft) but because of their size, I had to lay them next to each other to equal one normal pillow.
Housekeeping came by at 8ish to see if anyone had checked out yet. We weren't quite ready so they said they'd come back. They were pleasant.
Lobby area was very nice. Front desk attendant was nice and informative.
We were only there one night but it was overall great!

The WOW factor upon arriving at this Holiday Inn anticipates the great front desk service - yet does not overwhelm the wonderful bar and table service. Definitely a "do over!"

I've stayed in multiple Holiday Inn's over the past few months, and I can say that the quality of each is hit or miss. This one is a hit. Fairly new construction. Powerful showerhead. Choice of firm and soft pillows. Clean bed linens. Flat-screen TV with HD channels in a non-premium room. Free shuttle service to airport/rental car terminal. Only negatives were room styling, Wifi was spotty in the top floor in a corner room, and there is no entertainment within walking distance. If you have an early flight, and want something comfortable and close to the airport, this is the choice.

Your staff is absolutely amazing! Tim in the bar was so personable and accommodating with our large group. The food at your hotel was outstanding and service from all the staff was fabulous! I will stay at your property again when I am in Kansas City on business again!

The Front desk staff was the rudest bunch of Holiday Inn People we have ever experienced in a hotel stay. We had to wait to get checked in. The information given was short and non friendly. As we are leaving the next morning to go shopping, the man at the front desk says " Are you checking out" to which we answered "no." He says "k", not "have a nice day, or good morning." We had to park a block away , due to the gun show that was going on, and when I asked the front desk where we were supposed to park, she replied....."wherever you want". I said there was no parking in the entire parking lot of the hotel. She then told us we could park a block or so away. No concern for the paying customer.... Normally, we love staying at a Holiday Inn, but this experience was less than desireable. Will think twice before staying at this Holiday Inn again.

This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel. The food servers are so slow. I had hoped this time it would be different, but the service has not improved. It very frustrating when we are trying to get in a quick meal and they are not bothered by the fact that we are in a hurry....they move at the same pace. PLEASE IMPROVE THE MORNING SERVICE STAFF!

I have stayed at this hotel several times and overall, it is pretty decent. The rooms are comfortable, the TV and Internet is good and the location is also good.
On the negative side, there was no hot water in the room in the morning so showers had to be in the evening. May have just been a localized problem with this room, as I had not experienced it before.
Also, the breakfast buffet was pitiful. As a Priority Club member, the $12.95 fee was waived, but even with this, it was sad. Two of my three days there were no eggs on the buffet and I had to wait for them to put more out. The sausage was too hard to cut through. Overall, McDonalds would have been an improvement.
The staff at the hotel was nice, friendly, and helpful. Stay here...but eat elsewhere.

Great place to relax before the next day's air travel "trials and tribulations". The bar and bartender were great, not to mention the food. There's even an area outside from the bar for that great cigar, if you're into that sort of thing.

Restored my faith in the Brand after two terrible experiences with other HI properties. HI-KCI has set a high start for the brand that should be emulated. From the start with a friendly and energetic welcome at the front desk, from room service staff I met in the hallway, to the bartender & restaurant staff all exceeded my epectations.
Great hotel and a pleasent experience.

I actually stayed twice in one week - Sunday when I arrived and Thursday when I was to fly out early Friday morning. The front desk staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient. My rooms were very nicely appointed and clean. On Thursday, my room was on a "short hall" which was very nice, with respect to noise (I've often wondered why guests let their doors slam when they enter their rooms in the middle of the night).
The restaurant was less pleasant of an experience. It took a long time to get noticed by the server, and then he tried to be overly nice - I hadn't expressed any displeasure whatsoever. Then, when I selected the ribs, he came on with this "money back guarantee" (out of his own pocket) if the ribs weren't exceptional. Since the entire process took about 45 minutes from being seated to getting my food, I asked for a to-go box to take to my room. He didn't add my bread that I had requested, the vegetable medley was overcooked and cold, and the ribs had a lot of gristle and were heavily brushed with sauce. Sorry, but if this is an example of Kansas City ribs, I'll pass.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again, but next time, I'll eat out.
