Not the greatest hotel ever. Not even close.
When I got there I was able to use one of the bell hop baggage carts (myself, no actual bell hop) to bring in all of my stuff. I was moving cross country in a 24' truck towing my car, so not the most maneuverable vehicle. I had to park quite a ways away, so using the baggage cart was nice.
Parking was ample, but only because I arrived at the hotel by 6. If I would have arrived at 9 pm, I would have been out of luck.
I checked in and everything was fine. I got a bottle of water and a nutrigrain bar for being a rewards member...
Went to open the door, and nothing. No red light, no green light. Nothing. Went back to the front desk, they finally tracked down service and he went with me to the room. His solution was to just enter the key and remove it about 30 times very quickly. The light finally turned green and the door opened. He said it would work from now on. Well it didn't. Every time I needed to open the door, I had to insert and remove my key about 30 or so times in rapid succession.
A/C worked very well. Wifi was ok, cable was standard. No free breakfast like at another Holiday inn express I stayed at the night before.
Went to checkout and there were no bell hop carts available. Since I had a cat, litterbox, bags, backpack etc I needed one. After about 15 minutes of waiting for one of the 4 to be tracked down, 2 of the workers volunteered to just help me carry all my stuff. Staff was great, hotel was less than average. Overall ok.

The last night we were there a staff member noticed my van lights were on and called my room. Also, there was a nice grandmotherly lady who handed out cookies. It was very sweet. I was happy overall.

We have stayed here three other times. The first time we got a room with a fridge that had expired milk in it. Room stunk so bad. Second time was ok. This time the tv didn't work. And I took a guest survey that I was susposed to get extra points for. Still haven't got them. Staff was nice.

Check in took along time because there was only one person at the desk who was obviously too ill to be working. The lobby, pool, and restaurant are all in one room that echos (hard to tell that from the pics). When we got to the room the first thing we noticed was the noise from the pool area, which made it hard to relax and sleep. The shuttle service was very convenient and easy to use. Overall the room and hotel seem a little tired / dated and not up to Holiday Inn standards. The morning of check out they slipped a bill under the door. I noticed charges for 3 local calls that I had made. I have never heard of a hotel charging for local calls and they of course don't post this by the phone (tricky). I complained to the front desk, but they were not willing to help. For the amount of money I paid, I was expecting much, much better.

Have stayed here whenever I was in Kanas City before because in the past I was satisfied with the staff and value for the money. Not this last time. Was not recognized as a priority club member at check in. Breakfast has been changed and is no longer the quality that it once was. Think I will be looking for someplace else to stay next time I am in KC

After over a year of planning we just completed a retirement party for my husband. I do not know if there will be enough room on this page for all of the things I would like to say. I worked very closely with two of the staff members there in the planning of this party. My event doubled in size from the time it began and they kept assuring me that it would all work out and that the important thing was spending time with our family and friends. And it DID! We were all treated like we were the most important people in the world there. The food at our party was some of the best that I have tasted in quite along time. There are not enough words that I can say to show my appreciation for the professionalism to the personalization we were given. The Sales Department, the Food and Beverage Manager, the Banquet Manager, the Front Desk Staff, the bartender and the servers were excellant. Please accept my sincere appreciation to each of you for the quality of service that our guests and my husband and I received. I highly recommend this hotel for both an event and for lodging. You can truly tell that they are dedicated to make you feel welcomed. The staff are very friendly and outgoing.

I was suffering from server sholder/neck pain. I had run out of my subscription salve. They went out of their way to get me to the pharmacy I needed to get my scrip refilled. The only complaint I could post would be the price of drinks at the lounge.
