I am sorry I checked into your hotel expecting the usual Holiday Inn service I have been accustomed to since 1989. Obviously times have changed and it is all about the staff members now and the customer doesn't matter.
That's fine, I no longer have to be your customer.

I was pleased to find a reasonable rate at a hotel in Kansas City close to tourist attractions and convenient to the highway. I broke my ankle shortly before my trip and was not sure how I was going to manage. Staff was very helpful. I stayed in three hotels on my trip --- this was by far the best.

First of all I would like to say that we had to speak to two different managers about this stay. We had to move rooms twice and the only reason that we didn't move a third time was that we were both tired from two days on the road. DO NOT let them put you in room 150. It was infested with gnats (our second room after finding what looked like blood stains on our sheets!) We ended up in room 154, there were some gnats in there as well, but we were not sure if the gnats had hitched a ride with us when we moved. Room 150 had been fumigated, but they didn't tell us this fact before they put us in this room. We didn't find out about it until after we asked to moved a second time. Both my wife and I had asthma attacks due to this fumigation.
I have to say that even though this hotel is close to a lot of attractions, I do not plan on returning to this hotel for at least a year. Both the managers seemed to really want to fix the place up and they both asked us to give them 6 months so that they could improve this property. So the majority of the staff seemed concerned about the guests. We really didn't seem to get that feeling from the restaurant staff, except for the manager, who finally talked to the front desk to get the room comped. I have, in 30 years of staying at Holiday Inns, can honestly say that this is the second worse property, the first is a Holiday Inn Express in Abilene Kansas. I have PTSD and ended up awake most of the night due to the poor quality of the whole hotel.
This hotel has lots of potential and I hope that the managers keep to their word, as I would like to return to this property once the place is fixed up!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by TEFSD OK to be close to work activties......
The Holiday Inn was convenient for my work activities going on during my stay in March. Not a place to stay if you need quiet to sleep with continual freeway noise outside and a quite loud HVAC in room. Room was neat and clean, a bit dark in the bathroom. Website did a poor job of presenting that breakfast was an add on expense.

This Holiday Inn is nothing special. If you are looking for moderate accomodations then this is the place for you. My room seemed to be a previous smoking room and had the smell of a stale smoke smell. The noise from the road was quite loud. Dated decor. I had a 2 night reservation and checked out after the frist night and moved to a different hotel. Not horrible but not the best.

The Good. The hotel had a very friendly staff. Loved how the allowed dogs at this hotel. The breakfast was good, The bad; we were looking forward to sitting in a relaxing hot tub, and it was broken. Are room was not cleaned for our second night, and after bringing this up, nothing was done about it. We did NOT have the do not disturb sign in the door, they just missed our room. So over all we were disappointed.

At check-in computers and credit card machines were down - so unable to actually check in (even though I had prepaid reservation) had to wait until they could find the information to have a maintenance person let us into our room. (yep - no keys ready). Had asked if we could upgrade to king suite (from 2 dbl) and she had no idea if room available (of course no computer) and never offered to check and let us move (if it was available).
Because of the volume of stuff we had to carry - used the elevator - oh my - what a horrible odor. Thankfully room smelled better and was clean. (beds and pillows comfy - only true pro)
There was no exhaust vent in the bathroom - so steamy especially after everyone showered. The bathroom due to excessive moisture has a problem with rusty paint on the door hinges and possible mold around toilet.
The door to room did not shut unless you slammed it shut, therefore anytime we left the room we had to make sure to give door any extra tug to make sure it locked. Not a good safety measure.
The worst thing was the kids running in the hall all night of our last night there, along with all the dogs barking in the room next to ours. Evidently there was a dog adoption program going on - and yes by Sunday morning the lobby entrance smelled of dog... gross!
Friday we had asked for directions to nearby shopping and places to eat - was sent to the Plaza in downtown KC - and not knowing the area that was disastrous however, a few minutes north on I-35 was Liberty MO with lots of shopping and eating places.... yeah we found that on way home Sunday - bummers to gals @ front desk. (not every one wants to experience "the plaza")
