We came down to Kansas city for the royals game and stayed one night the staff was friendly and hotel was fairly close to the stadium which was nice I would recommend this hotel.

I stayed here for 3 nights. My brother and nephew and I came down for the race weekend. The front desk was initially staffed by 2 individuals, 1 of which looked like his first day. He went through a lot of motions and seemed quite overwhelmed by guests checking in. The beds were comfortable but actually seemed quite small. The room itself was adequate but not cleaned very well. My biggest complaint was the handicapped parking. (4 spots). The first evening 3 of them were occupied by a pickup pulling a trencher. I notified the front desk and was told they would take care of it. Nothing was done. The next night, all 4 spots were occupied by a charter bus; again I contacted the front desk and was told, 'they can't do that', but like before, nothing was done. I should have contacted the police myself. After checking out on the 8th, the bill seeed quite high, but I had forgotten my confirmation/quote for the room. When home, I found I had paid quite a bit more/night #+ the applicable fees/taxes# and called the hotel. A very helpful staff member saw the error and my account was eventually credited for the difference. All in all, this hotel failed to meet my expectations as compared to the other Holiday Inns/Express I had stayed before. I go to KC every year, and most definitely would never stay here. And I am rather easy to please. If you need handicap parking, think twice.

I did not see one smile from any of the staff during our stay. The first night we were there we went to eat at the restaurant, the food took over an hour to arrive and it was cold. The au-jus they served with the sandwich was straight whiskey not cooked. When I asked to speak to the manager I got a string of excuses about why it happened. The manager did comp our meals and gave us free breakfast coupons which was nice. We had two rooms with a total of six people and one of the rooms had leftover food in the refrigerator, and hair in the drain of the bathtub, disgusting! We went to the bar the second night to order appetizers after returning from the game, and again waited over an hour and got a bunch of excuses for why it was taking so long. Also a fight erupted at the bar and we had small children with us who listened to a long line of expletives. Nothing was done to remove these people from the area. Defintely not child friendly. The vending machines were empty all the time we were there. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We are still waiting for our bill to clear the bank and it's been two days, really!
