Learned on this visit that the hotel will be an Adams Mark April 6th. Very disappointed. I'll miss the 15th floor suites, shuttle to Royals games,Tessi the bartender, Candace and the girls at the front desk and others. With no Priority Club points I'll be staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Independence when on business in this area now.

Upon arrival we couldn't check in till 4:00 pm, and decided to stop at the restaurant for lunch. The food was great. A man approachedus and said his name was Steve, sales manager. He was friendly and polite and asked if there was anything he could do to make our experience great. We took our chances and asked for an early check in because the kids were tired from traveling.(even though the rude lady at the front desk told us no way) Steve came back within miniutes with a room key for us and for our friends on the way! He went above and beyond! When we headed up to the 8 th floor we saw that the hallways were trashed, but excused it because we were early, and thought it hadn't gotten done yet. Our room was clean, but the a/c didn't work and there was no toilet tissue. The halls NEVER got vacuumed, and remained dirty with sand and debri.. The water park was open to the public which was unfortunate for the guests because it was SO packed I couldn't keep track of my kids. My over all review was that it was dirty and overbooked. There were cigarettes and beer bottles out front at the entrance as well as trash cans overflowing with trash. I am a smoker, but still feel there should be a designated smoking area AWAY from the main entrance. I would recommend more staff like Steve. Not because of the early check in, but he was ready to accommodate us in any way. Also Mimi at the restaurant was quite nice. The Buffett was impeccable! Best we ever had, yet it did mot make up for the filth. We were very disappointed, and most likely willnotbeback. Hopefully Steve can whip the cleaning staff into shape, and turn things around. You need more people like him.. Professional go getters who care..
